ACJ exam pattern for the year 2024 will be the same as last year. Candidates planning to appear for the exam must familiarise themselves with the latest pattern available. It will help them understand the structure of ACJ question paper and marking scheme. The ACJ exam pattern is prescribed by the Asian Institute of Journalism. The test structure is based on similar entrance exams, having multiple choice questions (MCQs) to be solved within a particular time duration. The ACJ exam will be followed by an online interview. The candidate's performance in both rounds will be evaluated before declaring the final result.

For PG Diploma in Journalism Course

ACJ Entrance Exam Pattern is such that the test is divided into two parts. The first part tends to evaluate aspirants on the basis of their English language skills and facility whereas in the second part awareness of current affairs and general knowledge of candidates is tested. Apart from this, the official website states that ACJ entrance exam “also tests the candidates’ writing ability and assess their analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Other procedures may be prescribed for candidates from abroad”. The official website also informs that the exam will be delivered online in real-time.

For PG Diploma in Business & Financial Journalism Course

ACJ Entrance Exam Pattern for the BFJ course is such that there will be questions related to the below-mentioned subjects:

  • English language skills and facility
  • Current affairs and general knowledge
  • Basic Maths

Besides, there will also be a question wherein candidates have to write a 200-word essay on a given subject. The question aims to test the writing ability of candidates. It may be noted that the official website informs, "The examination will be delivered online in real-time."

Q. How many times is ACJ exam conducted in a year?

A. From the year 2023, the process of the online entrance test and the online interview that follows was made ongoing and held at regular intervals. This staggered on-going admission process will be closed as soon as the seats for the year are filled, or, by end May 2024, whichever is earlier.

Q. How many sections are there in ACJ Exam?

A. Candidates are usually asked questions from English Language, General Awareness and General Knowledge etc.

Q. Does ACJ exam has negative marking?

A. No, there is no negative marking in the exam. Candidates should try to attempt all the questions asked in the exam.

Q. Can I use calculator during the exam, if needed?

A. No, candidates cannot use any electronic gadgets during the exam. The candidature of students trying to use any electronic gadget during the exam will be cancelled.

Q. Is there any sectional time limit in the exam?

A. No, there is no sectional time limit for the exam. Candidates have to solve the questions in two hours duration.

Q. Can I answer the question as per my choice?

A. Yes, candidates can answer the questions as per their preference or choice. 

Q. How much marks will be deducted if I skip a question in ACJ paper?

A. There is no deduction of marks for question not attempted in ACJ. The candidates can safely skip a question if they do not know the correct answer. They will be marked zero for skipping the question.

Q. Can I select the time to appear for exam?

A. No, the institute will declare the exam schedule. All the candidates must appear for the exam as per the schedule. No request regarding change in the schedule of examination will be entertained.

Q. What if I am unable to appear for exam due to technical issue?

A. Candidates are required to check their computer and internet connection in advance before the exam starts. If they are unable to appear for exam on the prescribed date and time, they will not be given another chance.

Q. In how many slots the exam will be conducted?

A. The examination will be held online in real time. Candidates applying for either or both of the programmes will be intimated, within a week of receipt of the completed application, the date and time of the online test, and date and time of the online interview to follow.

Q. Do the interviews will be held online?

A. Yes, the interviews will also be held online following the entrance test. Candidates should prepare for the interview well in advance.

No, you must produce a printed copy of the ACJ Entrance Exam admit card at the exam centres. You also have to show a valid photo ID like your Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driver's License, etc. at the exam centres.

No, there is no descriptive or subjective section in the ACJ Entrance Exam. It is a computer based test with only MCQ type questions. Candidates must enter their responses to these questions within a time frame of two hours.
