Satisfied with good placement, infrastructure, and the best college for a state engineering college.
Placements: Overall placement goes up to 70% of total students. It's quite good. PSUs like Vedanta, Oil India Limited, NRL, Petrochemical Company, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Bharat Electronics Limited, HUL, Dabur, Teach Education Company, and others have been increasing placement every year.
Infrastructure: I stayed in Hostel 1, with 247 electricity, 247 running water, a clean hygiene campus, and free Wi-Fi. Four years of my college life, and the best days were the hostel days. About the infrastructure of the college, it is very good compared to other Assam State colleges. It is now being renovated with boundary walls, a new library room, and an auditorium. Being an open-campus college, it is very good.
Faculty: Faculty members were very good and talented. Teaching quality has always been good. Very talented professors, relevant to the course needed now. Semester exams were not so hectic as professors completed the syllabus prior to exams and also conducted regular tests on every subject.

Overall, placement will be available for you if you don't have any backlogs.
Placements: 21.4% of students were placed in electrical engineering. The highest package is INR 24 lac/annum, and the lowest is INR 20k/month. The average package is INR 40k per month. Oil India, NRL, IOCL, APDCL, Bajaj, Coca-Cola, Godrej, etc. are the top recruiting companies. 30% of students got internships at the above-mentioned companies. Senior Engineer, Junior engineer, etc. are the top roles offered.
Infrastructure: AEC has different buildings for different branches with separate labs provided with all necessary equipment. Classrooms are big enough to fit at least 90 students at a time. We have Wi-Fi in the canteen, almost all classes, and all hostel rooms. We have a digital library to check for the availability of books and a wide range of books for all courses (you don't need to buy books from elsewhere). Canteen food is healthy and affordable at reasonable prices. Messes in hostels are run by students for students, so they never provide anything bad for our health (like spicy food that is not cooked here). We do not have any cases of food poisoning in hostels or canteens unless you eat junk food from the campus stalls. We have numerous events related to sports, and every year we hold a sports week in which all hostels and day schools compete. We have a nearby ayurvedic college where the admission fee is just Rs. 10, and we also have an AEC hospital where we can get treated for free in cases of minor injuries or other viral infections.
Faculty: Teachers are full professionals and strict in their courses. They complete the course on time and provide notes in the classroom, Google Classroom, and groups. You may not understand the teaching of all teachers, for which we sometimes need to self-study on YouTube. Though the materials that we are given in notes are the ones that come in exams, The curriculum is very relevant and makes us industry-ready. Exams are easy if you pay attention in class. The pass percentage is different for different subjects. With the lowest for math and the highest for Physics and Chemistry.
Other: I took electrical engineering because it is a core branch and almost everyone gets a placement at the end of 4 years, except the ones with backs. I think it is already good as it is; no improvement is required in this course. There are a lot of events throughout the year, and campus has a lot of students to interact with, with our alumni helping us by recommending us to the big companies. There are a lot of scholarships at the beginning and end of the semester for those with an annual income lower than 1 lac.

It is a bit underrated college.
Placements: Around 60% to 70% of students get placed in our college. The highest salary package offered by PSUs is 16 LPA to 22 LPA and the lowest salary package is 2.5 LPA to 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies for electrical engineering are Tata Power, IOCL, OIL, etc. Students have to do at least 3 internships during 4 years of the course.
Infrastructure: Hostel and academic buildings have facilities like fast Wi-Fi, smart boards, and well-maintained labs. There are sports facilities for cricket, football, volleyball, and lawn tennis. Gym and a common room are available in every hostel.
Faculty: Some teachers in our college motivate students. They are friendly and teach well while the rest of them are not good. Most of them are highly educated. Their way of teaching is impressive. Lab classes are held regularly. Machines, instruments, etc., are serviced regularly.
Other: Pyrokinesis is an annual cultural event and Udbhavanam is an annual technical event orgnaised in our college are famous in Guwahati.

I'm satisfied with this college.
Placements: Most of the students in our department get placed in top PSUs like IOCL, OIL, PowerGrid Corporation, IGGL, etc., and other companies like Vedanta Chemicals, Tata Power Limited, etc. Top recruiter is APDCL. Around 60% of students get placed as engineers. The role offered is graduate engineer trainee. The highest salary package offered by IOCL is 14 LPA, the lowest salary package is 4 LPA, and the average salary package is 9 LPA. All the students have to do an industrial internship as a part of the curriculum. Previous batch students did it at PowerGrid.
Infrastructure: Students in our department get full-time access to Wi-Fi at a very good speed. Labs have an adequate number of apparatus that are taken care of frequently. The infrastructure of the labs is very good. Classrooms have smart tools like smart boards and are spacious to easily accommodate 60 students. There is a central library in our college with all the books related to the subjects. There are 9 hostels in our college of which 7 are for boys, 1 for girls, and 1 for PG scholars. All hostels have access to sports facilities like TT, cricket, volleyball, basketball, etc. Mess is clean and hygienic and the food is cooked with healthy oils. Food served is cheap and affordable. Food served in the hostel mess is delicious and serves a lot of variety of food items. There is a hospital on campus and doctors are available 24X7. There is an emergency unit and an ambulance.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very good, knowledgeable, and have done Ph.D. Students can approach them in case of any difficulty. Teaching quality is the best. The course curriculum is relevant to the industry as our branch is a core branch. Semester exams are averagely difficult. If students attend classes regularly then semester exams can be tackled easily. The pass percentage is around 80%.
Other: I chose this college because of its placements and professors. It is the oldest engineering college in Northeast India. Many cultural, technical, and club events are organised in our college throughout the year. Pyrokinesis is a 4-day annual cultural fest held in our college every year which includes band concerts, musical events, etc. Udhbhavanam is an annual technical fest in which many technical events take place. Our campus provides regular bus service. It is well-connected to different parts of Guwahati. There is a market on our campus where all the day-to-day needs of students are available like grocery shops, xerox shops, stationery shops, laundry, salons, etc. Scholarships provided cover the educational fees of the students.

A good value for money college.
Placements: More than 75% students were placed from my course. The highest package was INR 17lpa, the lowest was INR 3.5 LPA and the average package was INR 4.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies were OIL, IOCL, Ashok Leyland, BALCO etc. Almost all students got internships but through their own efforts. Top roles offered were Assistant Engineers and Junior Engineer.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi connection is available in the department though the speed isn't that good. The classrooms are equipped with smart-boards and projector and are quite spacious. The library is a bit damp-show because it isn't that big and has no AC so it is a bit difficult to sit there for longer hours but a new library is being built. The labs are good but need a bit of upgradation. The quality of food in the hostel is good. The food in the canteen is good too but a bit expensive. Medical facilities are in a bit haphazard condition. The campus has ample space for sports and games as there are numerous playgrounds and a tennis and basketball court as well.
Faculty: The teachers are qualified and knowledgeable but not all are good at teaching just like everywhere, it also depends from student to student though. The course curriculum is industry relevant it seems. The semester can be passed with a bit of hard work but for better marks a good amount of hardwork and understanding is needed. The pass percentage is around 70%. .
Other: I chose my course because it allows me to go into the IT stream as well as the core sector which is the best thing about this course. The things which should have been bettered are the library, the labs and the cleanliness of the campus. An annual festival namely pyrokinesis is held every year along with udbhavanam which is the annual tech festival. Scholarships are provided to the eligible students. The college is beautiful and a stroll through the campus feels good especially in winters. Along with all these a lot of extra-curricular activities are held every year via all the different clubs of our college.
