Q:   How effective is the placement cell for B.E. / B.Tech courses at BMSIT&M?

    A:
    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for BE/B.Tech Courses at BMSIT&M

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the effectiveness of the placement cell at BMSIT&M:

    * Good placements: The majority of students reported getting placed in reputed companies, with some mentioning salaries ranging from INR4 LPA to INR26.5 LPA (average being around INR5-6 LPA).
    * Dedicated placement cell: The college has a dedicated placement cell that supports students in their job search process, providing training and guidance throughout the semester.
    * Variety of companies: Reviewers mentioned that various companies visit the campus, including top recruiters such as Accenture, Wipro, Infosys, Amazon, and BYJU's.
    * Placement percentage: According to reports, the college achieves a placement percentage of around 95%.
    * Supportive faculty: Faculty members are reportedly helpful and knowledgeable, providing guidance and mentorship to students.

    However, some reviewers noted that:

    * Partial bias: The placement cell may prioritize certain branches, such as Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), potentially limiting opportunities for other branches.
    * Limited internship opportunities: Some students felt that internships were scarce, making it challenging to gain work experience.

In conclusion, the placement cell at BMSIT&M appears to be effective in placing students in reputed companies, with a decent salary range and varied recruiter presence. While there might be some scope for improvement, particularly in terms of bridging the gap between branches, overall, the college seems to have a strong track record in this aspect.

    A fast-growing college in Bangalore.
Placements: The placements for Computer Science, and AIML are excellent, while Electronics students also can sit for these placements, but again, they should skill themselves. Many top companies come for internships and placements, such as Amazon, IBM, and Microsoft for software jobs. Companies like Texas Instruments, Hexaware Technologies, and more come for core electronics jobs.
Infrastructure: All the classes are well-planned with projectors to help us visualize topics. We have fast Wi-Fi connectivity in every corner of the college. All the auditoriums are spacious. The labs are well-maintained for Physics, C programming, Chemistry, and English with the latest technology to help us learn better.
Faculty: All the teachers are well-qualified, having their M.Tech and Ph.D. at VTU. Most of them teach well, but there are a few who know their topics but can't teach them well. But all the teachers are helpful if we approach them; they never say no, always helping us with doubts or lab records.

Insights on BMSIT. A beautiful college.
Placements: Last year, 97% of the students were placed from the artificial intelligence and machine learning branch. The average package was 800,000. The top companies were AWS, SAP, etc. It's mostly the backend and coding-related roles that were offered to the students.
Infrastructure: The campus is kept very clean and has a lot of greenery which makes the campus very beautiful. The campus has good facilities such as air conditioning, Wi-Fi, libraries, etc. The hostel has a mess which has good food for the hostelites. Overall it is very amazing.
Faculty: Almost every professor has a Ph.D. degree and they are all highly knowledgeable. The faculty members guide the students through exams and give more hands-on sessions to help the students get a better understanding of different topics and concepts. The exams are moderately difficult.
Other: There are two different fests in our college. One is Utsaha which is a cultural fest and the other one is a technical fest. We also have sports tournaments where different colleges can participate.

Balanced Prospects: BMSIT offers good Placement Amidst cultural Enrichment .
Placements: 1. Around 70-80% are placed in my branch. 2. Samsung, Tata, ANZ are top recruiting companies. 3. SDE developed. 4. Lowest package is 3.5-4 LPA, Average is 7-8 LPA, and the highest is 14-20 LPA. 5. Internship comes with placement. Due to recession in the world, placement is affected for 1-2 years, but the college tries its best to place.
Infrastructure: 1. Wi-Fi is average; I can't say bad network, but it's also not good. 2. Infrastructure is good at this college. But it is too small to play games like cricket or football. 3. BMSIT has three hostels with international hostel facilities. 4. Food taste is moderate, but quality is good.
Faculty: 1. Teachers are not too helpful, but they are well-qualified and knowledgeable. But they don't have too much technical knowledge. 2. Yes, good for your future career. 3. Internal exams are easy, but due to VTU external exams are tough. But now the college is autonomous. You have to score 40/100 to pass exams in VTU.

Worth for money and value of time.
Placements: We are getting good companies for placement, such as Infosys and IBM. The placement training department is trying their best to get placements for the students and provides coaching for them. However, most of the companies offer packages up to 8LPA.
Infrastructure: The mess and canteen food is okay but not very good. The college does encourage students to participate in sports tournaments.
Faculty: Some teachers taught very well and cleared up any doubts we had. The third semester was difficult for students because they introduced subjects like operating systems and data structures and algorithms.

One of the top college in Bengaluru.
Placements: Around 90% of students were placed last year. The highest package offered was 46 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 4 LPA. The average salary package offered was 9.69 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Flipkart, Amazon, PhonePe, Infosys, and Microsoft. Around 80% of students secured internships. Top roles were a mentor in the company, leader, and software developer.
Infrastructure: Facilities in hostel are very good. Rooms are cleaned every day, and hostel is very clean and Wi-Fi is 24/7 available. Hot water is available every time for our batch. Drinking water is cold, hot, and normal filtered. Vending machines are available, where we can take anything like chips, biscuits, and some snacks in every room. Each room is shared by two students and has an attached bathroom, table, and chair for reading. The quality of food is very good as compared to other PGs. Every day eggs, bread butter, and fruits are served, along with idli, dosa, puri, and masala. Tea, coffee, and milk are also provided with everyday snacks. College has a food court where one can buy coffee, snacks, and breakfast. Medical facilities are available for students including one ambulance and one doctor within the campus. For sports and games, there is a ground available for cricket with net, football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, etc.
Faculty: Teachers teach the topic very easily. All are well-qualified with Ph.D. in some subjects and with 20 or more experienced teachers. Teachers are also good. In this course of the curriculum, India needs well-skilled engineers for the IT industry. Semester exams held in college are moderate. Pass percentage is 35%.
Other: I chose to pursue the Artificial Intelligence course because in the coming years, AI will be in high demand. AI can solve any problem within a second. The best part about my course, AI is more interesting compared to other branches and we have to learn machine learning. College conducts events like the coding club, skill development club, and some other clubs. Fests are organized like Karava, Uthasva Vaibhava, Kannada Rajyotsav, and some other fests. We have good connectivity with our college alumni. They visit every 2 months and guide the students in the right way. Campus surroundings are good. Teachers are also good. Scholarships are provided for students who maintain high CGPAs in semester exams. Other activities are conducted for students who are interested in fulfilling their dreams.

Good option if you looking for tier-3 college.
Placements: BMS Institute of Technology and Management (BMSIT) in Bangalore is known for its strong placement record among tier-3 colleges. Companies like Samsung, Amazon, and Dell are among the top recruiters. Placement training is started early to give students ample time to prepare.
Infrastructure: The college provides facilities like a library, canteen, and research opportunities for students. The college infrastructure is quite good with spacious and well-lit classrooms. Wi-Fi connectivity could be improved. Hostel facilities are also provided.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members hold PhDs and are knowledgeable in their respective subjects. The faculty uses a variety of teaching methods to make the learning process interesting. The faculty is supportive and always ready to help students, but the syllabus is not good.
