B.Tech. in Food Technology - Batch of 2018
Offered by Ch. Devi Lal State Institute of Engineering and Technology
1.4

I was very dissatisfied by joining here. There is no exposure at all.
Placements: Only 1% of the students from our course got placed. The salary offered was Rs. 12,000 per month. I don't remember the names of companies which offer placements here. However, they provided an offer for teaching in a coaching institute, and that job location was South India. None of the the food companies visited here for placements as our course was food technology. The average salary package offered here is 1.5 LPA. About 9.09% of the students got internships from here.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is available, but even with login-Id, sometimes it doesn't connect. I had faced issues connecting to the Wi-Fi of my department. The food served in the mess was average, and sometimes I had seen insects in my food. However, sometimes the food is great but not much great. There was a gym in our hostel, but it has non-working machines. A TV room is also available where a group of students can watch their favourite channel every night.
Faculty: Faculty members in our food department are very helpful and are great in nature. Even our head of the department was very humble and down to the earth. Our college conducted less visits to the bakery shop and industries, as they were a part of our course curriculum.
Other: I have chosen this course because the food course is new in the market, and it is huge. It is a very interesting course, and you will get to know food items which you eat and how they are prepared. I wish that our college should provide more of laboratory work rather than theoretical work.

Based on student reviews and feedback, here's what we've gathered:

Infrastructure: The college has a good infrastructure with well-maintained hostels, libraries, laboratories, and recreational spaces. Students appreciate the cleanliness and greenery around the campus.

Facilities: The college offers Wi-Fi, lab facilities, and a library with a wide range of books. The canteen serves good food at reasonable prices.

Placement Record: While some students report dissatisfaction with the placement record, others claim to have received good job offers. The highest salary package reported is around INR4.5 LPA.

Scholarship Opportunities: Scholarships are available, making the course more accessible to deserving students.

Student Life: The college hosts various events and festivals, creating a lively atmosphere. The nearby town offers limited amenities, but students appreciate the peaceful surroundings.

While CDLU faces some drawbacks, such as inconsistent Wi-Fi and limited job opportunities in certain branches, overall, it seems that the college provides a good balance of academic rigor, extracurricular activities, and personal growth.

Here are some areas where improvements could be made:

* Consistency in Wi-Fi and laboratory facilities
* Enhanced placement opportunities across all branches
* Increased interaction between faculty and students
* Better availability of internship opportunities

Ultimately, whether or not B.E./B.Tech at CDLU is worth the investment depends on individual preferences and priorities. Prospective students should weigh the benefits against the potential limitations before making an informed decision.
