Our college provides good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Generally, companies do not visit our college for placements, and students get placed in state government jobs. Students who are unable to get a job they continue their masters in the college, and along with it, many students are engaged with many fisheries project. But I wish some good aquaculture companies visit our college and hire some students.
Infrastructure: The newly inaugurated campus has a state-of-the-art auditorium, well-equipped labs, library and digital classrooms with an air-conditioned facility. The hostels have Wi-Fi facilities, and the food served is average. Games and sports facilities are good. Students can play games like football, volleyball, cricket, table tennis and badminton. Our college provides good facilities.
Faculty: Professors in our college are very talented with a lot of knowledge. The course curriculum is fully relevant for freshwater aquaculture practices. Difficulty in exams depends on the subject, and most of the papers are external. The pass percentage is almost 100%. Students get low marks in the 1st semester itself because the 1st year course is a bit hard, and as it is a new thing, it takes time to cope up. Once if the students cope up, then it is easy to pass in 2nd, 3rd and the 4th year.
Other: I have chosen this course because I am from a biology background and even I have qualified in NEET, but you will not manage to get a seat, so I have dropped the idea of coaching and joined this college. Fisheries is also a rising sector with huge potential, so I have chosen this course. Things are better here as the new campus infrastructure is very good. Teaching is also good, but I wish to get more practical knowledge. There is a batch with 25 students, which is somewhat less crowded considering other colleges. Events and fests are not organised here except for the college week. The connectivity to the college is good as it is just beside NH 27, but the locality is very undeveloped. It is really hard to get the needy things here. To get needy things, students need to travel to Nagaon town, which is 25 kilometres away from the college. Students can also go to Guwahati, which is 100 kilometres away from the college. Good students can get Ishan Uday and merit scholarships.
