Q:   Can I get into Department of Law, MDU with 70% in Entrance exam?

A:

Hello

In order to be admitted to the Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak's law department, applicants must take the MDU Common Entrance Exam (MDUCEE) . The admission exam has 100 questions worth one mark each, and it lasts for 75 minutes.  The entrance exam syllabus can be easily accessed on the university's  website.

Admissions are processed through counseling, which is determined by the entrance exam results. On the other hand, the university's website does not specify the minimal GPA needed for admission to MDU's Department of Law. Thus, it's unclear if an applicant who scored 70% on the entrance exam will be admitted to MDU's Department of Law.

A:

Placement Cell Assistance for LL.B. Students

Unfortunately, according to the information provided, there is no placement facility specifically for the LL.B. course at the Department of Law. However, the college does have a placement cell that assists students in securing placements, but it seems to cater mainly to the B.Tech and MBA departments.

Here's what students and alumni have shared about the placement cell:

* Availability: The college has a placement cell that helps students get placements.
* Performance-based selection: The placement cell selects students based on their academic performance and interviews.

It appears that the placement cell focuses more on supporting students in obtaining employment, especially for those pursuing B.Tech and MBA courses. As there is currently no dedicated placement facility for LL.B., students may need to rely on their individual efforts or seek external opportunities to secure employment after graduation.

Please note that while the placement cell might not directly support LL.B. students, its presence suggests that the college recognizes the importance of helping students find employment after completing their studies. It would be beneficial for the college to consider establishing a similar system for LL.B. students in the future.

The review of MDU Rohtak .
Placements: There is a batch of 120 students every year. The placement of students depends on their courses, for example, B.Tech., B.BA., and others. They provide placements to 43% of students; the average package goes from 4 to 6 LPA; 60% of students got internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the university campus is very good and provides lots of facilities it basically involves a clean and well-maintained campus with Wi-Fi facilities the hostels are top-class, the food in the mess was very good and canteen provides a lot of varieties .
Faculty: The teaching facilities are highly qualified and provide effective teaching to you; they were very helpful and supportive. Also, there were exams held every six months, which of course provided you with real-life experience and also gave part-time jobs to students. Also, the exams are moderate and you only need to get 40% marks to pass the exam.

Our college has good faculty members and well-maintained infrastructure.
Placements: Placement camps were conducted, in which many law firms and companies participated. Students from the third year get placed. The highest salary package offered was 14 LPA. My plan after graduation was to go into the field of the judiciary, for which the college provides material and lectures.
Infrastructure: The hostel is expensive as compared to PG in Haryana. The hostel has a gym, playground, badminton court, volleyball ground, basketball ground, indoor gaming facilities, etc. The food is good compared to other hostels in Haryana. Fruit, milk, and curd are given every day other than the usual meal. There are common washrooms in the hostel. The girls' hostel is on campus, while the boys' hostel is at a distance of 5 km from the college. The room has one cupboard and a table lamp for studying. Laundry is provided twice a week. There is a vending machine in the hostel. There is a canteen on campus.

Professors were very good and knowledgeable. The teaching methods were amazing. Students can score high marks if they have knowledge of the subjects.

Overall, the University is good and so are the other departments.
Placements: I will pass out with a degree of B.A. LL.B in 2026. To be honest, the law department never provides any placements to it’s students. I got 70% and above marks in every semester. The guidelines required for the students is zero. The teachers are good but the law department needs to improve a lot of things.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of my course and the hostel is basically good. The Law department has a library and a computer lab. The library is the one of the best things in the department. Hostel infrastructure is also good having rooms, garden, and good security. Everything is good except the food. The ingredients used to prepare the food are of a very low quality and the taste is not good at all.
Faculty: The faculty is very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable but the teaching quality is not satisfactory. It can be much better to be honest. Many students of our department clear the judiciary exam which is a good thing.
Other: I always wanted to be a lawyer and it is also my father’s wish, so I chose this course. The best thing about this course is that the curriculum is understandable and the teachers are helpful. The faculty should introduce more practical work. Events, fest and campus crowd are all good.

Hello,

Major differences that are concerning for LLM students are what specializations are offered. So, you can go for your preference.
