BA LLB Hons. eligibility requires completion of 10+2 education (Senior Secondary) with a minimum of 50-55 percent in subjects like Science, Commerce, or Humanities, which varies by university. Some universities might prefer candidates with a specific Arts subject background relevant to the BA component, such as Political Science, History, Sociology, or English.

To gain admission to prestigious national law universities like National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi) or National Law Institute University (NLIU), candidates must excel in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), a national-level entrance exam. Additionally, various states conduct their own law entrance exams, such as the LSAT - Maharashtra Law Entrance Test and LPUNEST - Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test, for admission to government and private law colleges within those regions, some of which offer BA LLB (Hons.) courses.

Top BA LLB Hons. colleges offering this program include National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi), National Law Institute University (NLIU), Symbiosis Law School (SLS) in Pune, Indian Institute of Law in Delhi (IIITD), Amity Law School in Noida, Christ University School of Law in Bangalore, and Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) in Sonipat.
