It is a very good college for the overall development of students.
Placements: The college placements are not much good. The placement cell is in the developing stage, but some departments have good placements like electronics and telecommunications, food technology and chemical technology. The students who got placed from college had an average package of 3 LPA, and the highest package was 12 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college building is very good, situated in a silent area. One can enjoy every moment here. The campus is surrounded by greenery. The hostel facility is very good and can accommodate about 250 boys and 250 girls. The hostel and mess facilities are affordable. The labs are well-equipped.
Faculty: The teachers in our college are helpful at any time and support students in organising various events or activities. They have good knowledge, but some are below average. The semester exams are quite difficult, and students have to study throughout the year to get good grades.
Other: One of the best things about the college is that it has free medical facilities, from tablets to X-ray, with all specialists visiting the hospital. A reading hall is available 24*7. The college is active in sports. The college teams have participated and won various university level and inter-college matches of various games. The top 3 students of every class get scholarships from the university every year.

My college life is very happy because of highly qualified faculty and good placements.
Placements: 70-80% of students got placed in my course. The highest package offered is nearly about 7 Lacs per annum. The average package offered is 4 Lacs per annum, and the lowest package is about 2 LPA. Recruiting companies like Praj industry, Infosys, TCS, etc., came here. 70% of students got internships from my course.
Infrastructure: The library is open 24 hours for students. Digital classrooms are available. The campus has a very healthy and fresh environment for study. Mess food is tasty and full of nutrition. Sports and games are available for every student. The college ground is huge and well-equipped. Only a ladies' hostel is available.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and helpful. Their teaching quality is the best. Semester exams are difficult, but the pass percentage is about 80%. The mechanical course curriculum is good and makes students ready for industry. Two semester exams are held.
Other: I am interested in mechanical engineering, and my college is the best for that course. The campus and canteen are the best. Scholarships are provided for clever and poor students.

It is an autonomous college.
Placements: Our college has average placements regarding the mechanical branch, and most of the placements are done by the reference of teachers. For mechanical engineering, local companies visit here. The average salary package offered is about 2.5 to 3 LPA. Almost 30% of the students prefer completing their post-graduation.
Infrastructure: Our college has a very good infrastructure. Hostel facilities are very good, and students can enjoy their hostel life. Mess is also good with acceptable food but with low variety. Charges for hostel and mess are very low as compared to others for such facilities.
Faculty: Most of the teachers of every branch have completed their PhD. For some subjects, teachers from university are invited. Students have to study all around the year to score good grades. The curriculum has all things to make students industry-ready. Students can also work with teachers on projects.
Other: The college has an earn and learns facility for the economically weaker section. Students who work with teachers are given a stipend. Students working on projects are funded by the university. Industrial visits are regularly conducted and funded by the university. The college is A graded by NAAC. Our college is also active in sports.

I am not satisfied with the college's placement results or effort.
Placements: As per my knowledge, students get placement on their own. Our college does not conduct placements. Not even a single student got any response from college about placement as they expected while taking their admission there. Teachers will do whatever they can, but they also need some support from their superiors instead of a termination letter for doing something for the sake of students happiness.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility was available in the hostel and college. There is a well-maintained library at the college. There are good laboratories for all the practicals. Classrooms are large enough to accommodate 80 students.
Faculty: Some teachers in our college are good. We were lucky to have them as our mentors, and still, we are in contact with them. They are still managing to do whatever they can for students with their future. I don't know how many of them were good enough to make students industry-ready. Semester exams are pretty good to check your remembering ability rather than intelligence. They only focus on the size of our answer instead of its content which is quite similar to all the colleges.
Other: I have chosen this course because of my background. About 2-3 students who were doing good with this degree motivated me to pursue the same. Our college should provide students with industry-oriented projects and tasks instead of that academic books, which are of very little importance in the real world. Our college should provide or organise something which will make every single student participate in it. Our college conducts pretty much extracurricular activities.

Review of Department of Technology, Shivaji University.
Placements: A minimum of 60 to 65% of marks are required to get placed. For food technology, many companies come here, like Parle Agro etc. For chemical technology, Cipla and Nerolac came here. There are no placements for civil engineering and mechanical engineering students. All the students got internships on their own.
Infrastructure: The college and hostel infrastructure is very good. Separate labs are available for different branches. Two workshops are available for mechanical engineering students. The campus has free Wi-Fi available. There is a library with a separate reading room, having a capacity of 500+ students.
Faculty: The teachers are not much qualified, especially in the mechanical department. But from other departments, the faculty members are well qualified and helpful. In the mechanical department, most of the faculty are contract-based, and they don't have much knowledge.
Other: I am highly interested in mechanical engineering.

Is it worth pursuing M.E./M.Tech at Department of Technology (DOT)?

Here's a summary of the key points:

Infrastructure and Facilities
* The college has modern infrastructure with digital equipment, high-speed network, and comfortable hostel facilities.
* The campus is well-connected, with proximity to the university and the city.
* Faculty-to-student ratio is reasonable, with one faculty member per 20 students for postgraduate courses.

Teaching Quality and Support
* Faculty members are knowledgeable, helpful, and experienced, with most having PhDs.
* Teaching methods include PowerPoint presentations, chalk talks, and hands-on training.
* Industry exposure is available, allowing students to apply theoretical concepts practically.

Placement Opportunities
* Unfortunately, there are limited placement opportunities for M.Tech students, mostly through off-campus placements.
* Few opportunities exist for M.Tech students in the energy sector, with some receiving internships or projects.
* Placement figures vary, but around 60% of students get placed after completing their studies.

Takeaways

While DOT offers decent infrastructure and teaching quality, its placement record leaves much to be desired.
