Q:   Is it worth pursuing M.E./M.Tech at Department of Technology?

    A:
    {Source: M.E./M.Tech students & alumni}

Is it worth pursuing M.E./M.Tech at Department of Technology (DOT)?

Here's a summary of the key points:

    Infrastructure and Facilities
    * The college has modern infrastructure with digital equipment, high-speed network, and comfortable hostel facilities.
    * The campus is well-connected, with proximity to the university and the city.
    * Faculty-to-student ratio is reasonable, with one faculty member per 20 students for postgraduate courses.

    Teaching Quality and Support
    * Faculty members are knowledgeable, helpful, and experienced, with most having PhDs.
    * Teaching methods include PowerPoint presentations, chalk talks, and hands-on training.
    * Industry exposure is available, allowing students to apply theoretical concepts practically.

    Placement Opportunities
    * Unfortunately, there are limited placement opportunities for M.Tech students, mostly through off-campus placements.
    * Few opportunities exist for M.Tech students in the energy sector, with some receiving internships or projects.
    * Placement figures vary, but around 60% of students get placed after completing their studies.

    Takeaways

While DOT offers decent infrastructure and teaching quality, its placement record leaves much to be desired. For those interested in pursuing M.E./M.Tech, it is essential to weigh these factors carefully before making a decision. Consider exploring alternative options with stronger placement records or seeking additional guidance on potential career paths. Ultimately, it depends on individual goals and priorities.

Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for M.E./M.Tech students at Department of Technology?

    A:
    {Source: M.E./M.Tech students & alumni}

Placement Cell Success Rate for M.E./M.Tech Students

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's an analysis of the success rate of the placement cell for M.E./M.Tech students:

    * Limited Placement Opportunities: Unfortunately, the placement record for M.E./M.Tech students is "very low" or "even no placement is available".
    * Teacher Network Help: Although there isn't a dedicated placement cell, teachers have a strong network with companies and can help facilitate placements for interested students who take initiative.

It's essential for students to be proactive in connecting with the faculty for placement assistance. While the placement cell may not be highly effective, individual teacher connections can still lead to job opportunities.

Note: These findings are based solely on the provided student reviews and do not reflect a broader picture of the department's placement performance.

    Good college but no placements.
Placements: The placement is very low or even no placement is available in the college. The college staff has a very good network with various company persons so the teachers help for the placement of the student but the student should take interest and get connected with the facility as the teachers surely place them in a company.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is mind-blowing with all the facilities. The hostel facilities are also very good and very close to the college building. The whole campus is activated with a high-speed network and also each classroom are with digital equipment.
Faculty: As the college is totally run by the university the best of best teachers are selected for teaching. All the facility members are holding PhDs and have very good experience in teaching and industrial expose. They are all helpful for students at any time with no politics.
Other: The college is very active in profile building activities and organises various events every year. There are events every Saturday. The college is also very supportive of sports events. Teachers help supports students in organising sports matches.

It is a good college, and the campus life was incredible.
Placements: Placements in the college are good for UG courses but non-existent for masters courses. We had great opportunities for internships in various industries and energy audits. Almost 60% of the students got placed, and I liked the experience. The learning was great. It was totally worth joining for masters with many opportunities.
Infrastructure: The college has a great infrastructure. There are LAN room, TV, and a mess in the hostel building. Also, medical facilities are provided here. Labs provide us with experience while learning. Food served was fine. The hostel rooms in the college were good, and they were provided on a 3 sharing basis. There were no issues regarding the infrastructure in college except for power cuts sometimes.
Faculty: Faculty members in the college were great. They were very helpful and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching was good. PPTs were used for teaching. The faculty to student ratio was 1:20 for PG courses and 1:60 for UG courses. The college provided industry exposure for our batch. We enjoyed the learning experience which was application oriented. You must join here to learn the energy-related courses especially.

It was a fantastic college, and they were the best years of my life. I have made great friends.
Placements: The college didn't provide a good placement platform for masters students. Most of the students got placed through off-campus placement drives. However, B.Tech course had a few good companies for placements offering roles ranging from computer to electronics domains. Some of us (M.Tech energy technology branch) got internships in PCRA Energy Audit with a stipend of Rs. 22,000. It offered a great opportunity to learn.
Infrastructure: The campus was beautiful and well connected to the university with a distance of 2 km. Classrooms were good, and the department was started in 2007, so the infrastructure was relatively new. Sports like football, cricket, kabaddi and volleyball were played on campus. Rest was available at the university. The campus was located at a walkable distance of 10 minutes from Kolhapur city.
Faculty: Teachers offered us opportunities to learn the applications of our field. They used chalk and board and presentations for teaching. The faculty to student ratio was 1:20 for a masters course. The faculty to student ratio was 1:60 for UG course. Industry exposure allowed me to learn a lot during our course. The course provided me with a good learning experience.
Other: Bright Young Minds is a media event conducted in the college. The college invited amazing speakers from across the state. The college annual fest, fresher's party of every individual branch, traditional day and festival were grandly celebrated.

The college has a good infrastructure, but there are no placement opportunities.
Placements: The college doesn't provide many placement opportunities for M.Tech students. Students with a masters degree are placed through off-campus placements. There are some opportunities available for B.tech students, but all opportunities are related to computer and IT jobs. The highest stipend offered was Rs. 8,000 during internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is quite good. Boys and girls hostels are up to the mark, but very few students get an opportunity to stay here. They need to increase the hostel capacity. There is a sports ground on the campus. The college has started to plant many trees. The canteen facility is up to the mark.
Faculty: Teachers in the college are helpful. Some teachers are PhD scholars. They help the students in a practical way. The use presentations and chalk and board as teaching methods to teach students. There are very few industrial visits organised in a year. The course curriculum is very much relevant to industry workspace. Students who are pursuing masters help us with our practicals.

I'm absolutely dissatisfied with the college.
Placements: The college didn't provide any placements for the energy technology branch. Students who weren't able to get a satisfactory job during graduation pursued their PG by keeping in mind that at least they will get something different during PG than their graduation. So, DOT isn't good in terms of placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good as DOT campus is attached to the beautiful campus of Shivaji University. The building, as well as the surroundings, are very good. The hostel is very poor compared to the fee paid by the students. The college provides space to play outdoor and indoor games. The classrooms and labs were good.
Faculty: The course curriculum followed in our college is very good because it meets the industrial requirements to fulfil the needs of students and is beneficial for their development. Some faculty members were excellent, but some were the worst. Teachers in the college were not knowledgeable.
