The WBJEE application form 2025 for Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College admission to BE/BTech and BPharm courses is expected to release in the month of Dec 2024. The WBJEE 2025 exam date is yet to be notified.
A few more updates are given below:
- The GATE 2025 registration process with late fee is closed now for admission to the MTech course. The GATE 2025 exam will be conducted on Feb 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025.
- The MAT 2024 registration process for the December session is ongoing for PBT and CBT Phase 2 exams; the last dates are Dec 7 and Dec 15, 2024, respectively. Further, MAT 2024 CBT Phase 1, PBT, and CBT Phase 2 exams will be scheduled on Dec 7, Dec 14, and Dec 22, 2024, respectively.
- CMAT 2025 registrations are open for admission to the MBA, PGDM, and MMS courses; the last date to apply is Dec 13, 2024. The CMAT 2025 exam will be held on Jan 25, 2025.
- The CAT 2024 answer key has been released for admission to the MBA/PGDM courses. Candidates can download the answer key by using their login credentials on the official website. The CAT 2024 result is expected to be released by Dec 20, 2024.
- JEE Main 2025 Session 1 registration has closed for admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses. The JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exam is scheduled to be held from Jan 22 to Jan 31, 2025.

A decent review by a hostel student.
Placements: Placement is 70%. The highest package is around 11-12 LPA, and the lowest is around 2-3 LPA. Top companies like TCS and Wipro visit our college. Around 90% of students get internships. Top roles are marketing manager, HR executive, marketing executive, and sales executive.
Infrastructure: We have normal classrooms. There are many labs in our department and two libraries. There is Wi-Fi, but only for college use. The quality of food is good in our hostel. There are also medical facilities, a playground, and a playroom in our hostel.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified, and have good teaching skills. Students get opportunities to visit industries. Semester exams are not that difficult, but the level is high, and examiners are strict. You need 75% attendance to qualify for exams.
Other: I am from a commerce background and am interested in this field and the roles it provides. I think they should enhance their infrastructure, like installing AC in every classroom. Events and fests are very enjoyable.

Great Hands-on Learning and Vibrant Campus Life, but Really Needs More Industry Exposure.
Placements: Generally, 85-90% of students from various departments like CSE, Civil, ECE get placed in different companies like Accenture, TCS, Capgemini, JSW, Meil, Ultratech, Cognizant, Wipro, etc. The highest package offered is 17 LPA by Accenture, and the average package is around 5-8 LPA. Most students get internships at Celebal Technologies, Tata Motors, Durgapur Steel Plant, DVC, etc. Personally, I got a paid internship in CK and Sons Textile as a data analyst intern. Overall, according to campus placements, the college is good!
Infrastructure: Classrooms and labs are decent. Personally, in our lab (Data Science lab), there were 3 classrooms and 2 labs, consisting of projectors and advanced computers in each class and lab. Regarding hostel facilities, the quality of food in the two canteens is good and affordable. Our college is in MOU with Mission Hospital, Durgapur, so the medical facilities are good. Regarding sports, there are basketball and volleyball courts, and cricket and football grounds. Various competitions are held every year in cricket and football. That's all about it.
Faculty: The course curriculum in my college is a mix of both challenging and engaging elements. While the overall structure is good, it can be difficult at times, especially when it comes to exams. There are multiple exams throughout the year, including CA1, CA2, CA3, CA4, PCA1, PCA2, and the final practical and theory exams. Failing in these exams is possible, particularly if students don't stay on top of their studies. The good aspects of my course include the well-rounded content that prepares us for the real world, while the bad aspects include the rigid exam structure, which can feel overwhelming. There are usually five theory classes and two practical sessions of one hour each every day. This leaves students with very little free time, which is why many of us end up bunking classes occasionally just to catch a break. In terms of teaching methodology, the faculty members generally follow a traditional approach but try to make the content engaging through discussions and practical examples. I admire my HOD because of their depth of knowledge and supportive teaching style. On the other hand, some faculty members are less appreciated due to their monotonous teaching and lack of student interaction. Attendance is a serious issue, as there is a mandatory 75% attendance rule. If students don't meet this, they receive a zero in the CA (Continuous Assessment) and PCA (Practical Continuous Assessment) exams, which can severely affect their overall grades. I’ve seen students struggle to meet the attendance requirement, and some have even been penalized for it.
Other: I chose this course because it combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills in Data Science, which is exactly what I need for my career goals. I appreciate the focus on real-world projects and problem-solving, as well as the dedication of our faculty, who make complex concepts easier to understand. Beyond academics, the campus offers vibrant events, festivals, and extracurricular activities, which make student life lively and engaging. The campus surroundings are pleasant, with good connectivity to nearby facilities. Scholarships like SVMCM are available, and they provide financial support to many students, making education accessible to more.

Review of Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College.
Placements: The college tries for almost 100% placement for its students. The top recruiting companies are Accenture, Wipro, etc. The highest package offered was 18 Lacs recently; the average went for 3.5 lacs, and the lowest went for almost 1.2 Lacs. As for the internship, I haven't heard anything.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided here are living quarters for teachers, 2 hostels for boys ( 3 but only 2 are functional), 2 girls' hostels, a main building with some of the core branches departmental buildings and some subsidiary buildings for other branches. Also, there is a central library and there are departmental libraries for each department. The hostel facilities here are the worst, as the food here is awful (especially for vegetarians; don't join if you are one).
Faculty: The teachers are very knowledgeable (there are very few of them) and the rest of the faculty's teaching style is different from what I understand. The PDFs they provide are not at all helpful for the exams you have to study for with your own notes. Even the marking system is too abrupt, as you cannot determine whether you will pass or fail even if the answers to questions were perfect.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in coding. The best thing about this course is that you can have a wide range of possible future options through it. There are many possible improvements to this course. Many small college-scale events take place, and there are also major annual festivals. Two festivals take place. These are enjoyable ones, as in the cultural festival, local artists are invited to the programs and in the technical festival, you can compete with your skills.

Being under makaut University to evolving as a university itself
Placements: 60 to 70% students usually get placed in CSE department. Highest package was 14 LPA and lowest was nearly 3 LPA. However average package is 4 to 5 LPA. Companies like Capgemini, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra visits the campus. Students get placement from TCS, Wipro and Infosys and some private banks as well. College provide internships in Webel and Celebel technologies and even Nit Durgapur for research and project work for 70 to 80% students. Job roles offered are mostly service based software engineer.
Infrastructure: Faculties are mostly PHD holders from NIT's and some are Mtech degree holders from recognized colleges. Infrastructure is not very good but according to the fees structure labs, library and classrooms are quite good. Hostel infrastructure is not very good but food and other facilities are quite good. A lot of extra curricular activities and programs are held and students enjoy hostel life.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly PHD holders and are friendly and helpful. Teachers try their best to help students/ However miscommunication and confusion occurs sometimes but overall its good. This course is trending and college provide placement so this course is worth it. Semester exams are quite tough however following the syllabus will help get good grades. Getting less than 40% in any subject is considered as fail . A lot of students get backlog but it is cleared in the next exams.
Other: CS is trending and demanding course. Software engineer, AI and coding are in demand. This course provides valid degree and one can increase his/ her skills too by exploring into more fields along with this degree for better salary. However this course focuses mostly on theoretical knowledge and should start preparing students for industry from initial days.
Each year tech and cultural fest is organized in a large scale. A lot of events are organized from hackathons to cultural activities. Karate, basketball are all practiced in the ground provided. Scholarship based on eligibility from the government or private is allowed. Tfw (tuition fee waiver) is provided to eligible students where tuition fee is free. Campus is not so large however based on the fees structure this college and the course provided can be considered as a perfect college.

Placements: I am a student of the batch 2023-27, pursuing a B.Tech in Information Technology. Almost 90% of students are placed if they are from the Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology departments. Students from other branches like Mechanical and Civil Engineering have a lower number of placements, and their placement packages are very low, with most of them not being placed.
Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure. There is a separate building for 1st-year students, and each department has its own building. The campus is well-planned and has sports facilities. Students can play football, basketball, and volleyball, and other martial arts are also practiced at this college. The campus also includes medical facilities as well as a canteen.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and helpful. Not all, but some teachers are really good in their profession. Teachers like Momita Pradhan and Prabal Sahu are great assets for the students of this college. The course provides adequate opportunities for personal growth, but we need additional certification courses to prepare for the industry.

BCREC is the best College in Durgapur.
Placements: Dr. BC Roy Engineering College provides many internship and pre-placement programs in the 5th semester. Our college has a better placement ratio among all Durgapur colleges. It is a better option to do BTech; in our session, placement provides around 3 to 6 LPA.
Infrastructure: BCREC infrastructure is wide and large, very attractive. Huge campus Wi-Fi 24/7, canteen and cafeteria, or well-designed labs are stabilised here. A large library, with 95000 books, is also here. Smart classes are well organised, and many more facilities are provided to students.
Faculty: Teaching staff are very highly qualified. They provide extra classes and doubt-solving classes to understand students’ problems smoothly. Many teachers come from IIT or NIT backgrounds. BCREC conducts exams semester-wise, and exams are very tough with CCTV cameras.
