Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   What is the latest cutoff information for B.A. LL.B at Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University?

A:

The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has set a competitive bar for admissions in its B.A. LL.B program, with the latest cutoff hovering at approximately 360 for general category students. However, the scene shifts for the BHU LLB 2023 admissions, where the cutoff takes a notable dip, standing at approximately 135 for general category candidates and a slightly lower mark of 125 for reserved category candidates.

This significant drop in the cutoff marks between the latest B.A. LL.B admissions and the BHU LLB 2023 intake indicates a potential shift in the admission criteria or the pool of applicants. It might signal either a change in the academic rigor expected or a fluctuation in the quality of applicants across categories.

For aspiring candidates eyeing a seat in BHU's LLB program, this altered cutoff scenario could mean a more approachable target to aim for compared to previous years. It also emphasizes the importance of staying updated with evolving admission trends and aligning one's preparation accordingly.

This shift might prompt prospective applicants to reevaluate their strategies, intensify their preparations, or even offer an opportunity for those who might have missed the mark in previous attempts. However, it's crucial to approach these changes with a comprehensive understanding of the admission landscape and adapt accordingly to secure a place in this prestigious programme at BHU

Q:   What entrance exam scores does Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University accept for admission to BA LLB?

A:

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, Banaras Hindu University's Faculty of Law for B.A. LL.B admission typically conducts its own entrance examination known as the BHU Undergraduate Entrance Test (UET). The UET is the primary admission criteria for various undergraduate programs, including B.A. LL.B, offered by the university.

While the UET is the standard entrance test, Banaras Hindu University may consider Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) scores as part of the admission process. However, the weightage given to HSC scores and other eligibility criteria can vary, and it's essential for prospective students to check the specific admission guidelines provided by the Faculty of Law for the academic year in question.

Candidates aspiring to pursue B.A. LL.B at Banaras Hindu University should regularly visit the official university website or contact the admission office for the most accurate and updated information regarding the admission process, including the acceptance of HSC scores. The university's admission policies may undergo changes, and direct communication with the university authorities is the most reliable way to obtain current and precise details about the admission requirements for B.A. LL.B.

In summary, while the BHU UET is the primary entrance examination, the acceptance and consideration of HSC scores may be part of the holistic admission criteria. It is advisable for candidates to refer to the latest official notifications or contact the university for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the admission process for B.A. LL.B at Banaras Hindu University.

Faculty of Law, BHU (an institution that will give you quality education).
Placements: The B.A. LL.B. course was started in 2014 in the Faculty of Law at BHU, so only 5 batches have passed out since. Not all students were initially ready for jobs in the corporate sector, as many or all of them are focused on the judiciary. In the past years, Tata AIG has been coming to the university to offer PPOs to 5th-year students, and the average package they offered was around 6–7 LPA.
Infrastructure: The faculty infrastructure is improving day by day as new smart classrooms are constructed with speakers, projectors, and smart boards connected to computers. Hostels here provide double-occupancy rooms with 24/7 free electricity and water supply, with an average rate of $3500 per year. The mess provides food at Rs 50 for unlimited food and only closes at night. All the medical facilities, including medicine, are provided free of charge to students, and even a 24/7 emergency ambulance is always just a call away.
Faculty: Teachers are highly educated and professional, with years of experience in teaching. The curriculum is followed by the subjects and guidelines prescribed by the Bar Council, and the classes are run according to a minimum of 90 days of teaching per semester, followed later by exams.

Review of Banaras Hindu University.
Placements: Our college provides less placements as it doesn't hold a great placement record. Many supreme court judges and many splendid supreme court lawyers are alumni of our university.
Infrastructure: Our college has the best infrastructure and the best library facilities. Students can easily find any book or any law journal in our library. It has Asia's biggest central library. Mess food quality is not good. Students get free medical facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are brilliant and the best. Our senior professors have more than 30 years of experience. Students need to gain a minimum of 40 marks out of 100 on every paper. Semester exams are easy.

Is BHU good for law? I studied at BHU, and I am totally satisfied with BHU.
Placements: Placements are really good as many companies like Tata, TCS, and Detroit come here and place students. The highest package was 13 Lacs, and the average package range is between 5 to 6 Lacs per annum. BHU is really good for placements. Every year, 20 to 30 students get placed. Placement is also tough because there is a percentage or CGPA barrier that you need to clear.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent as we have a very good library with very fast Wi-Fi and air conditioning, and there are computers. There are many books if you want to study and learn, and the hostels are also good considering the price is only 6000 rupees per year.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful absolutely knowledgeable and highly qualified. They teach very well and are well-versed in their subjects. The course curriculum is relevant, but if you want to go for corporate, it may be a little bit traditional and does not really make you industry-ready. But it makes you judiciary-ready. The semesters are really tough, and you need to study more if you want to get decent marks in your examinations.
Other: BHU for the law is very good if you want to go for the judiciary. It is also good if you want to go for corporate, but since it is a traditional university, it lacks some features. If you really want to go for a corporate career, you can choose other options like NLU or other private colleges.

The life of students at our college.
Placements: Approximately 80% of students are easily placed. The highest salary package offered is around 5 LPA and the lowest is about 2 LPA. Around 60% of students got internships. The top roles offered in the college are to support you in every possible manner and guide you towards your future.
Infrastructure: A Wi-Fi facility is available within the college premises, and the speed of the Wi-Fi is also fine. Labs, classrooms, and libraries are regularly cleaned and maintained. The quality of food at the college is also good, and they prepare different foods on different days. They also provide special food on special occasions.
Faculty: Teachers here are qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is good, and they will definitely help you clear up the concepts. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes the student industry-ready. Exams are quite difficult.

It is one of the best law college in U.P.
Placements: In our college, almost 90% of the students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is 12 LPA and the lowest is 7 LPA. The top recruiting company is Khaitan and Corporation and it is the best. Almost 59% of the students get internships from khitan and corporation companies. This college provides us with many more courses but I choose only B.A. LL.B.
Infrastructure: This college is one of the best law colleges all over India. When I got admission to this college, first I looked for facilities for our course and find them the best. This college has great labs, classrooms, and a very big library. The best thing is that this college provides you with canteen facilities, sports, and medical. It has good staff members.
Faculty: When first time I joined this college I was afraid that who will be responsible for my studies, but I find that I was wrong. We have many well-qualified teachers here. They have good knowledge and teaching style. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are amazing and so difficult but for me and other students but we can afford and generally, we qualified it. The pass percentage is almost 49%.
Other: I opted for this course because it is perfect for me. It has good fame and reputation in society that is respected by everyone. After completing the course, I will almost gain good knowledge about the law. In this college. events, festivals, and other programs are regularly held. I always take part in college events and programs. This college has a large campus for all its students. I am thankful to the college.
