Satisfied with placements and infrastructure provided. Dissatisfied with the remaining.

Placements: Placements for our seniors batch are pretty good. The exact percentage is yet to be known. In the previous year, the placement percentage was 92%. The highest offered salary is 11 LPA and the lowest is 2.7 LPA. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Microsoft, Deloitte and many core companies have visited.

Some important things one should know before joining GITAM.

Placements: In my batch around 90 percent of the batch is placed. My seniors batch also around 90 percent were placed. Google, Microsoft, Musigma, TCS, Accenture, Oracle etc so many other good companies visited the campus. Average package is around 3.5 lakhs. There were some good offers around 12 lakhs. Core placements were low during our batch. L&T and some companies came but were comparatively low considering our senior batch.

If you want a brand then go for GITAM if you don't get any other government college.

Placements: Half of them will get placed in TCS. In the remaining half, half of them get placed in various companies like Deloitte, Microsoft, Google, MU Sigma and various other companies. Others go for GRE course in various colleges over there. Even though return on investment is low initially, it is a worth considering college.

Dissatisfied with placements in 2016. Faculty, campus life and facilities were awesome.

Placements: For placements, one or two companies only came. Coming to my seniors, out of 34, 14 were placed in TCS and Broadcom. For my batch, out of 21, 6 of them were placed in TCS. For my juniors, out of 9 people, 6 were placed in TCS. The college didn't provide any internship for M.Tech students. For 1st year, the top two or three toppers in the class get a reward amount (Rs.5000) in the second year.

Good placements in 2016 but I feel a bit disappointed with the the university officials.

Placements: According to me, placements are very good in our batch and our seniors' batch. There is a rule in our college that the students who are interested in going abroad for their studies are not allowed to sit for the placements. Leaving all the students who are willing to do their further education, there are almost 80 percent of students who got placed. Highest salary was around Rs 6,00,000 per year and the lowest is Rs 2,50,000 per year and the average would be Rs 3,30,000 per year. Most of the stu...

GItam University, best value if you want a placement.

Placements: Many companies come for placements include Microsoft, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Cognizant and so many companies. The track record is good. The package varies from a minimum of 3.2 lakh rupees to 18 lakh rupees a year. It is the best college or private university in Andhra Pradesh.

Versatile but cost is high

Placements: Record of placements in our university is good but many are from IT based firms. Maximum number of placements are from reputed MNCs only and 50% (Mu Sigma , TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra) of mechanical students are placed in IT sector. 5% are placed in the core sector from mechanical (Maruti Suzuki, Fiat, Tata Avionics Limited, Aveva, Cyient, Uniparts). Highest package in mechanical core companies is 8 lacs. The above data is only for mechanical department as the other departments have even higher ...

Placements: The placements were good for my batch as well as my senior batch but the amount of student intake is reduces for my batch. As far as my batch is concerned lot of IT based companies visited our campus and around 70% of students got selected approximately. The highest salary offered is 17 LPA. Not satisfied because of the faculty members but the placements are good in the year 2015-16.

Placements: Placements have been good here. Top recruiters are TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Tech Mahindra and CGI. Even, the top companies like Amazon, Google and Microsoft will appear but they will only take maximum of 10 students. The average salary is 3.0 lakhs per annum. Mainly software engineer roles are offered to the students. There will be no internships and you have to go at your own will.

Satisfied with the faculty and infrastructure in GITAM, Vizag.

Placements: Placements are good but the problem is that they will teach nothing about how to perform and impress the interviewer. They just request companies to take students in their companies. For example, last year i.e. in 2015, TCS took 750 students. I don't know how many of them survived until the end of the training. However, if you have the skills, then it is a good platform for you.

Things to know about GITAM before joining.

Placements: Most of the students get placed with companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra, Microsoft, and Dell. Most of the students are placed in TCS, but the packages are very low when compared to other deemed universities. Students get placed just for namesake. The placement is about 85% which is better than most of the colleges.

This college is a waste of money, the faculty members are the worst and the fee is too high. But the campus life is good and it also has good infrastructure, extraordinary facilities compare to other local colleges and no pollution and full greenery in the campus. Coming to placements, only 3 MNCs will hire a large number of people. They are software companies but there are no core companies for ECE. Studying ECE in GITAM will get only software placements and TCS will hire more students.

It is an excellent college with a great campus. The faculty was good and college maintained decent placement figures. The final year projects were very theoretical and would have helped if they were more of practical knowledge. Other than that, this was among the best colleges.

I will start with the infrastructure. Since it is a University, the facilities required for engineering excellence are up to the mark. It has a well-equipped library and an e-library as well. The college has a huge ground, a tennis court, two badminton courts, and a basketball court in addition to an indoor gym. The faculty in the institute is highly qualified with Masters and PhDs from reputed universities. The negative aspect of the college is the intake number. The intake number is too high,...

Good infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: Our placements have been reduced due to various reasons. In our super senior batch, 700 members have been placed in TCS but in our senior batch, only 500 members have been placed. The highest salary offered to our seniors is 10,00,000 offered by Microsoft. Lowest salary is 2 LPA. The average is 2.5 LPA.

The infrastructure and management are good. The college provides a good number of placements but only in IT companies. It has a high tuition fee of around Rs.2 Lakh per annum. It has placement record of 70 percent and very fewer core companies come for recruitment. You should apply for the exam through GAT admission test which is easy to score. I recommend it only for placements in IT companies.

I had a great experience in this college. The faculty members are fine and a few are really good. The campus life is nice and something or the other is going on all around the year. Especially for engineering, placements are really good. TCS is our saviour if you want some job. There are fewer job opportunities related to your core subject. There are a lot of canteens and a lot of places to hang out with friends. The facilities aren't that great for academics. The college has a good infrastructu...

The campus is new and under construction, so, that might be a bit of a problem. But saying that, there is no lack of infrastructure facilities. The EEE faculty was good. The hostels were very good, neat, clean and with all the basic facilities. The only complaint might be about the fee and the students are not able to access Android apps over Wi-Fi. And the most important part being the placements. There are no issues regarding that. Good training is given beforehand and plenty of companies came...
