How to Maximise Score with Help of JEE Advanced High Weightage Topics

Candidates can maximize their chances of success with a smart study strategy:

Focus on High-Weightage Chapters: Access the official JEE Advanced 2025 syllabus and prioritize chapters with higher weightage. This implies devoting more time and effort to these crucial topics.

Know the Weightage Breakdown: JEE Advanced 2025 will have questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each subject holds a specific weightage, which indicates the number of questions expected from each area. Knowing this allows you to allocate study time strategically.

Resources at Your Fingertips: Utilize the available JEE Advanced chapter-wise weightage for all three subjects (Maths, Physics, Chemistry). Don't neglect any chapter entirely. Aim for a well-rounded understanding of the entire syllabus.

Beyond Weightage: While weightage is crucial, remember thorough preparation across the entire syllabus is essential for a top All India Rank. Practice consistently with JEE Advanced mock tests and previous year's question papers to hone your skills and manage exam pressure effectively.

Remember: With dedication, strategic planning, and a comprehensive understanding of the syllabus, you can conquer JEE Advanced 2025!

A:

Some of the books recommended for JEE Advanced preparation by the toppers are as follows:

  • NCERT books for Physics, Chemistry and Maths

Physics:

  1. Problems in General Physics by I.E. Irodov
  2. Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick, and Walker
  3. Concepts of Physics by H.C. Verma

Maths:

  1. Plane Trigonometry by S.L. Loney
  2. Coordinate Geometry by S.L. Loney
  3. Higher Algebra by Hall and Knight
  4. Problems in Calculus of One Variable by I.A. Maron

Chemistry:

  1. Physical Chemistry by O.P. Tandon
  2. Organic Chemistry by Morrison and Boyd
  3. Inorganic Chemistry by J.D. Lee

Q:   How to choose best books for JEE Advanced preparation?

A:

Choosing the best books for JEE Advanced preparation can be a critical decision in your journey towards cracking the exam. Here are some key strategies and guidelines to help you select the most effective books for your preparation:

  1. Before selecting any books, thoroughly understand the JEE Advanced syllabus and the exam pattern. The syllabus for JEE Advanced is vast, and the exam covers topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  2. Make sure that the books you choose align with the syllabus, especially for topics like Optics, Modern Physics, Organic Chemistry, and Calculus that are heavily tested in JEE Advanced.
  3. The JEE Advanced exam tests deep conceptual understanding. Therefore, always prioritize books that explain concepts in detail. Strong conceptual clarity is key to solving complex problems.
  4. Select Books with a Mix of Theory and Problems. A balanced approach is essential: books should offer both theoretical explanations and a variety of problems to practice. You need to ensure that the book you choose has:
    • Clear theory to build your understanding.
    • Plenty of problems to practice, ranging from basic to advanced levels.
    • Solved examples that demonstrate how to apply concepts to solve problems.
  5. Choose Books for Each Subject
  6. Check Reviews and Recommendations

Q:   What books should I solve in the last month of my JEE Advanced preparation?

A:

It is recommened to not start with any new book in the last one month of JEE Advanced preparation. Rely on the books and study materials you already have gone through. Rather than relying on the books im the last one month, it is recimmenede that the candidates should:

  • Dedicate at least 7 hours for tests three times a week. After each test, analyze the gaps and take corrective actions.
  • Solve past IIT papers to familiarize yourself with the exam pattern and question types.
  • Regularly revise formulas from all three subjects and review the topics in your short notes.
  • Identify and address any vulnerable concepts or topics. To do this, go through the material and solve at least 50 problems of varying difficulty.
  • Stay focused on the syllabus, keeping in mind that the Mains and Advanced syllabi have some differences.
  • Ensure 7–8 hours of quality sleep each night, with the option of a 1-hour afternoon nap to stay refreshed.

Q:   Which are the best books to prepare for JEE Advance in the last month? My maths is very good but my chemistry is extremely poor.

A:

Only do two things if you have one month left.

  • Purchase topic wise previous year Questions books of JEE Mains and Advanced with detailed solutions. Make sure book is divided topic wise. Solve each and every question and SEE solutions. Don't make notes or read books. Only make formulae and concept sheet. Whenever you think you need to read book. Just read it and don't read entirely or make notes. Completing questions is your target.
  • Daily solve one dpp sheet. There are many DPP sheets available online. Daily solve one for each subject. Only one. And whatever questions you can't do. SEE their solutions. Make sure in one month you atleast give 5 random full JEE Advanced mock tests. Just sit for 3 hours and give exam. No need to think about marks.

Q:   I have given my 10th exams recently. Which are the best books for maths, physics and chemistry to prepare for JEE Mains and Advance?

A:

To prepare for JEE Mains and Advanced, here are some of the best books for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry:

Mathematics:

  1. Problems in Calculus of One Variable by I.A. Maron
  2. Higher Algebra by Hall & Knight
  3. Objective Mathematics by R.D. Sharma
  4. Cengage Mathematics (Various Topics)
  5. Problems and Solutions in Differential Calculus by A Das Gupta

Physics:
