It is good for textile engineering. It is the best college of West Bengal for textile technology.
Placements: Placements in the Government College of Engineering and Textile Technology are pretty good for textile apparel branch students. Almost all students in this branch are placed through on-campus placements. It provides pretty good internships for students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the Government College of Engineering and Textile Technology, Serampore is not so good, but adjustable. Buildings of this college are very old. Labs are just okay. Hostels are available but the capacity is too small.
Faculty: Teachers are very much qualified. Almost all are PhD holders. They all are very helpful. We can easily understand the core parts of engineering through their lectures. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready for textile companies. The semester exam level is as usual. The passing mark out of 100 is 40.
Other: Placements are good enough for the textile and Apparel Production course. All things are average, not so bad here.

2nd best college for textile department.
Placements: More than 95% of students from Textile Technology branches got on-campus placement in 2024-25. The highest package given by the companies is 18 LPA. The average package is 7 LPA. Actually, this college has only TT and APM placement. There are few placement opportunities for CSE and IT students.
Infrastructure: Our course has good infrastructure but not so well and clean compared to private colleges. No Wi-Fi is available for students. Our college has 4 departments, and labs are available. The library is available, and it's so clean and has a good collection of books. Our college has no hostel for 1st and 2nd-year students, so I have no knowledge about hostel facilities.
Faculty: A few teachers are very friendly and well-behaved. They help us during our regular study. They are so knowledgeable. Our course curriculum is 4 years. For the Textile department, college study is enough for placement. It makes one job-ready. College semester exams are moderate. The average pass percentage is 90%.

Important for college to choose right.
Placements: Only 5% are placed in our course. The highest package is around 20 LPA. And the lowest package is around 3LPA Top recruiting companies are Cognizant, TCS Only 2 % of students got internship from TCS. But many students do project from NIT colleges and scored very good in GATE exam.
Infrastructure: The Infrastructure of the course in our college ia really very good and very impressive that there are AC in every laboratory and classrooms. Faculty members are really friendly and very efficient. There are very good canteen in our college campus. Annual sports are very good.
Faculty: The faculty members are very efficient, helpful and friendly to the students. They take extra classes, doubt clearing classes. This course curriculum ia relevant. It makes the students industry ready. The semester exams are very difficult. You have to score 6 SGPA to pass.

Value for money for Textile and apm branches .
Placements: The placements in our college is good. 97% placements in textile technology, 87% placements in apm, CSE and it placements are average, I don't know the actual percentage. Top recruiter company are Raymond, Aditya Birla garments, Hcl, Cognizant, Infosys, Tata.
Infrastructure: Our college infrastructure is average and not so good. I didn't find any Wi-Fi in the college. Labs and classrooms are average. But library is well maintained. Library has many books and librarian's behaviour is very good. I don't know about hostel, I am currently living in a nearby PG.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They teach us with good manners, the have sufficient knowledge, they enrich us through their knowledge, teaching quality is awesome. In fact our apm and textile technology study curriculum makes us industry ready but in other branches, you have to study in personal way. Semester exams are good with some difficulty Pass percentage is 97%.
Other: Actually I chose this course because the placement is very good in apm and textile branch. It would be better if our infrastructure is better. Many events are going on, fest scholarship is active and applicable. It is a good college.

Our college has a good campus.
Placements: There are good placements for TT and APM. For IT and CSE, placements are not up to the mark. Our TPO tries its best to make it good for our future. Campus placements will be better in the near future. Many companies will reach our college. I hope everyone will get placed.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of labs is moderate, like that of average government colleges. Wi-Fi is available in college, but it's not working. Classrooms are in average condition. They are enough for learning. Hostel facilities are available. The canteen is also in average condition. If you want to play any games, you can join this college.
Faculty: Faculty members in IT are very helpful, more laborious, and always try to make us more expresses in our career. Biswajit Sanyal is a great teacher. All faculty members in IT try to provide more knowledge. They teach us at Gate level.

Good college location, average infrastructure with good teachers.
Placements: Placement is very good for APM and TT branches with almost 100% placement, but for IT and CSE, it is worse. Good average government college with fewer feels. Recently, there was a placement in Aditya Birla, Raymond, and many valuable companies for the Textile department.
Infrastructure: Hostel is not available at the moment for 2nd and 3rd-year students as it has been in preparation for the last 3 years. A little canteen with a good amount of items is there. Classrooms are average. There is a ground in the middle to play sports and there are no medical facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are good and helpful if you are interested in that course, of course. Exams are average, not that much hard. Apart from Maths, other subjects are easy to clear. Course curriculum is pretty tough. You have 4 CA exams with 2 practical exams, and after that, the semester exam and practicals.
Other: If you want to go for further studies like M.Teach or government exams preparation, this college is best for you. You can get your B.Teach degree here and do what you are aiming for.
