Our college is located in the Highways which connects Salem and Bangalore. The Labs are equiped with new Instruments and equipments which was bought from the TEQIP programme(fund from UNESCO). Professors and Lecturers are helpful and can interact with them without any hesitation and they are always ready to help. The Support staff too are good and can build good rapport with them during the course.

A government institution, but not a famous one among the biggies like IIT, NIT, and PSG etc Better campus, environment, faculty members and accommodation facilities. Girls hostel is most secured, and Wi-Fi connections are available, good libraries (Digital), sports ground. Peaceful campus environment.

Review of Government College of Engineering, Salem.

Placements: The placement in this year is very poor everywhere. Even the placement drive has only a limited number of companies. Most of the companies are startups and they offer a very low salary package. The top recruiting companies this year are Infosys and Cognizant. The highest salary package offered is 5 LPA. Last year, the placement drive was really good and we are hoping to get a better placement drive next year.

Take a look and get to know about GCE Salem.

Placements: The placement is now average. About 50% of the students only got placed in my course at my college. The highest salary package offered in my course is 5 LPA and the lowest salary package is 1.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Wipro, and Infosys. 20% of the students got internships from my course at companies like Infinion and Teach Red Ltd.

The metallurgy department is good and has more placement opportunities.

Placements: Almost 100% of our seniors who passed out got placements. The average salary package offered is 3.5 LPA to 7.7 LPA. Hyundai, Bharat Forge, TVS Group, Sanmar, JSW, and many other companies are recruiting our students. All members of our batch have completed their internships in many different fields, including foundries, steel casting, heat treatment, testing laboratories like IIT, etc. Top roles offered are quality inspectors, ISRO material specialists, etc.

I am not satisfied with the college.

Placements: I opted for the civil engineering course. It gets only fewer placement companies to recruit. Compared to our course, other departments have good placement opportunities and many internships.

A Great Journey of life starts here.

Placements: Placements are arranged only through students by an elected coordinator and the campus will only guide you in how to approach them. Certain courses like metallurgy and computer Science provides a high amount of placements while mechanical and civil coursed students lack such placing opportunities.

B.E civil engineering has good scope and placements.

Placements: In our college, not all the students surely get placements, but talented students get placed for sure. The salary package varies every year based on the companies' terms and conditions. In our college, more placements are placed for civil engineering and computer science engineering students.

A very good college with a good environment.

Placements: In our department, 56 students got placed, which was only a rough estimation. Accenture, Tech Mahindra, Titan, Hyundai, Mahindra and many companies offered a package of 3.5 LPA. They guided us very well. There are no classes like UG, and we should go to the college or library to take notes of our curriculum. We are given the freedom to do our projects, and we can publish it in annexure 2 journals, and we can claim the amount in college.

Placements: Everything was nice, many outsiders visited our college from different companies to share their success stories in their buisness. And our senior batch was very nice and helped us a lot. But some times they used to torcher us. I mean ragging. It was really common.
