B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2023
Offered by Government Engineering College, Kozhikode

It's my pleasure to study in such a good college.
Placements: 1/3 Rd of total students were placed. The highest package is 5.8 Lacs per annum. Mainly IT companies are coming here for placement drives. Top recruiting companies are Larsen and tourbo, Qburst, Renault Nissan and so on. Intershils can be done individually for which college will provide proper permissions.
Infrastructure: Our college is quite small and for department of electronics and communication there is no block. There is no means hostel for this college. Lab facilities are too congested. College canteen is okay. For sports and game support given by college is very weak.
Faculty: Teachers are very good, most of them taken Ph.D. from reputed institutions. The quality of teaching is satisfactory. The course curriculum is also satisfactory. But it doesn't make sense that it make the students industry ready. The semester exams are really good.

It is a college with a nice infrastructure and good faculty members.
Placements: This course is one of the core courses and it has enough placements too. Last year, above 80 percent of students got placed in different companies such as Bajaj, Paytm, Infosys, Tata, etc. We don't need to worry about the placements in this college. The college has placement cells that build students to achieve campus placement.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are made as smart classrooms with the availability of Wi-Fi connections. There are well-developed labs for each subject. The College library has a wide range of collections of novels, study materials, biography, etc. The college has a well-facilitated lady's hostel. But it does not have a hostel for boys. Boys need to find a private hostel. There are seniors with a helpful mind to help them, find a better one.
Faculty: The majority of the teachers hold a doctorate and the rest are well qualified and knowledgeable. The course makes the student excellent to build his career. Even if the semester exams are tough, almost all students pass the exam. There are a series of exams conducted twice per semester.
Other: I believe this course is the best because it has a wide range of opportunities before us. It's an everlasting course and the demand for employees will not decrease.

It is not the right option if you want a cinematic campus life.
Placements: A good number of students got placed, mostly from ECE and electronics-related branches. The salary packages offered were quite minimal. It ranges from 3 LPA to 4 LPA. Companies that recruit on campus are Qburst, CTS, Mitsogo, etc., with the up-growing IT sector being the majority. Internships had nothing to do with the college, as it's an individual responsibility of the student to apply and get somewhere, and very few got into properly paid internships. Systems engineer and project engineer are the job offers that I received from TCS and Wipro by attending their respective off-campus drives.
Infrastructure: Only the ladies' hostel is available with a very limited number of admissions, that is 150 to 175. Admissions used to be on the basis of academic performance and distance to their native places, but recently it has been completely based on the reservation. The hostel facility is commendable as it's better than the options available around the college. It has a curfew of 9.30 PM.
Faculty: It follows the KTU (Kerala Technological University) curriculum. Faculty members are amazing for the junior years. The exam schedules are so horrible that you'll end up writing three-semester exams in a single year without even properly having the required number of working days. The syllabus is extremely outdated. It doesn't make you industry-ready but gives you the basics. The pass percentage is around 50% to 60% in our department. Exams are pretty tough but manageable.
