B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2015
Offered by Gwalior Engineering College
2.4

Gwalior Engineering college is not good for all, but it is good for needy.
Placements: There are no placements, and no companies visited this college. They are showing many companies list in this college prospects, but in reality, they did not provide any campus placements in this college. When I joined this college, they will provide NCC or Indian Airforce placements, but all are fake.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college is not strong. The college is near Indian Airforce centre, so every time all get disturbed with the sound of Army aircraft. Parking arrangement is not good, and no any security is available for vehicles. The college is located more than 500 metres away from the main road. The main thing is public transport is not available easily.
Faculty: If we are talking about course, then courses are similar for all. This college is under RGPV, so the course doesn't matter. The first year faculty are good, but after first year college faculty are not good. Many faculty members are not available all time, and most of the faculty members are only graduates, so they cannot specify their particular subject. According to the eligibility criteria of professor, master degree is must, but all are not post-graduates.
Other: The numbers of students are low, and many seats are empty every year. They organise many events from time to time, but it is only based on college platform. Some students joined because they will get scholarships. So it is the best for those who have not enough money for his engineering graduation.

The review of GEC, Gwalior.
Placements: Placements of my college are poor. Being a private college, it should provide more efforts in placement cell and inviting companies. But no companies come to college. Being very economical can also be a reason. But since Madhya Pradesh has an open campus, our seniors and also our batch had gone to Bhopal for placements and scored well in other colleges. College didn't provide internship facility at my time might, but it might have changed. We have to do internship at our own.
Infrastructure: The college has well-equipped classrooms. The campus is enabled with Wi-Fi facility. Labs were organised with almost all lab equipment, but traditional equipment might have changed with the passage of time. The library has all good books and also e-library so that students found themselves comfortable to find any book of any writer. The college has games and sports facilities. Quality of labs and classrooms is average. The food quality is awesome in canteen. Hostel rooms are neat and clean, and they are available only for first-year students to avoid ragging. Rooms are available with all facilities like a bed, chair, table, cupboard, and two boys occupy a single room. Single room facility is also available. Girls hostel is also available outside the college campus. I found myself very comfortable during my tenure.
Faculty: The faculty members are well-qualified, the senior faculty members have a good experience. During first year level, it has young professors with an insight that freshers find themselves in a friendly environment. Their teaching quality is awesome. They encourage students to prepare and give presentations. At my time, the teaching methods were traditional, right now they might have got advanced. Student to faculty ratio is 30:1. We get industry exposure at different levels starting from the first year to last year. The course curriculum was useful.
Other: The college organises fresher's and farewell party in a nearby four-star hotel- Adityaz. Campus crowd is fair enough. The college is well connected by Gwalior- Malanpur-Etawah highway. The campus is surrounded by a lush green environment, and it has in Gwalior Airforce station Gwalior in the front and Amity University on the left side. It is closeby Gwalior industrial area. It provides scholarships to ST/SC/OBC as per TnC. It organises techno fests, brain stroking quizzes, cultural dance and singing competition. It also organises sports week every week, in which almost all types of games were played. It has a very good sports area and beautiful garden with fountains. It organises robotics fest and other events too. It also encourages students to participate in multiple events organised in other colleges.

Gwalior engineering college (GEC).
Placements: Frankly speaking the placements were good if we look at the past, but since due to the family issues of the owner the quality of education here has fallen a lot. Recent placement of my branch happened in Nov 2017, the avg. Package offered was 3.24Lpa. More companies generally don't visit but the local companies from malanpur (industrial area) near Gwalior prefer to hire students from here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is adequate for the engineering students. The college location is in the outskirts of the Gwalior. It is situated near amity university Gwalior, but the exact location is in a village which most of the student don't like about it. Since, it is a bit of deserted area but near to it Air force station is also there, so everything is available to the hostellers and no need to move to the city for every single need.
Faculty: Since, the college is affiliated to RGPV it also follows the same curriculum offered by them and work according to there guidelines. The course is sufficiently good to take in semester studies. Here faculty is good, but since the family issue of the owner, recently the attendance of students has fallen, but otherwise faculty is supportive.
Other: Our college provides a chance to students to be a part of NCC (Army). Talking about the technical fest it does't conduct any such events, but guest lectures and technical seminars are conducted sometimes.
