Best college for B.Sc. Nautical Science in India.
Placements: The B.Sc batch of 2024 saw 90% placement. The major recruiters are Damico, MOL, MOLTA, Eastaway, Marshal Shipping, Sanmar, etc. I am glad to have been placed in Sanmar Shipping with a starting package of 60,000. If you stay all clear throughout your semesters, you will definitely get placed.
Infrastructure: The institute has air-conditioned classrooms, Wi-Fi in cadets' accommodation, playground, gym, swimming pool, etc. We have a ship on campus with all auxiliary machines, virtual reality labs, and steering simulator labs. The institute has a green lush campus with a cool atmosphere. There are a lot of facilities for indoor and outdoor games.
Faculty: The faculty members are experienced. Many captains and chief engineers are teaching and assisting throughout the course. Our faculty members are seasoned master mariners and chief engineers with great dedication. Our faculty trains us to become seafarers and not just to have a degree.
Other: The lifestyle is strict but also very enjoyable.

The college is satisfying and the placements are good.
Placements: The cadets should not have any arrears during their academic time. They are recruited by companies like Synergy, Damico, Sanmar, Maritime, Molme, Molta, Chellaram, Chellship, BSM, and BSW Dynacom. The batch which is about to pass out this year has around 80 cadets out of which 60 got placed. Last year’s batch had 90% placements rate.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good with rooms having bunker beds and a new block has been constructed with ample of space for the cadets to feel comfortable. Each room consists of 4 members with 24hrs water facilities. Water filter is also available for hot and cold water on every floor.
Faculty: The faculty members in the college are well experienced and certified. Every faculty member is friendly with the students. In each semester, there will be two CT (Cycle Test) exams conducted. It is for 20 marks and these marks will be taken as your internal marks. The passing mark for this test is 10 out of 20.
Other: This course is for deckside. The college conducts sports events, external events, and other events related to culture and festivals.

The best maritime college in South India for B.Sc. Nautical Science.
Placements: It was always a better choice to choose HIMT College for my career progress, as today I stand proudly in front of my parents with a job in hand as I pass out. I am placed in D'Amico, and so are my friends too. HIMT College really helped us a lot in training for the interview.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are well-equipped with air conditioning and smart boards. We also have the latest training aids for virtual reality modules on campus, which takes our training to a higher level as we are able to experience the theoretical things taught in class live in front of our eyes.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and friendly and they are also well experienced. As most of the faculty members stay inside the campus, we are welcome for doubt-clearing sessions. Faculty members train us to the best of the industry standards and make us industry-ready.

A good place to develop your marine career.
Placements: When it comes to placements, the college sincerely tries to get their cadets placed. A company when it comes for recruitment, they are more interested in / expects a student to know the pure basic knowledge about the field. If you can convince the interviewer that you know what you're talking, one can easily get placed. 38% of the cadets from our batch are placed in companies like MOL, MOLTA, Goodwood, Chellaram, PCL etc. And 2-3 companies are yet to come.
Infrastructure: The college has a very good academic infrastructure which includes a ship in campus with working main engine and a bridge simulator, an accessible double bottom tank with man holes and sounding pipes, enclosed space, working accommodation ladder, watertight and weather tight doors etc. With all these you will have a good idea about what to expect on board a vessel. In case of accommodation I am not satisfied because some rooms are less spacious to accommodate 4 in a room.
Faculty: The college employs well experienced officers to take class for the cadets. The college is well concerned about the classes for the students, a good example is that when the authorities advised to suspend the classes due to COVID-19 they made provisions for online classes so that a student can attend the lecture while staying safe in home. Most importantly NO SLEEP during class hours which they strictly impose, truly speaking I myself find difficulties in following that.
Other: For recreational purpose the campus infrastructure includes a gymnasium, swimming pool and sport activities. In some of the reviews about the college I find statements such as " THE COLLEGE IS VERY STRICT" this is a truth, but then what do you expect from a marine college, because you can't afford a chap fooling around on board a vessel. This will affect the operation of that ship.

Q:   What is the selection process for B Tech and what is the minimum 12th class percentage required?

A:

The selection process for B.Tech programs can vary among different colleges and universities with some elements like Educational Qualification, Entrance Examination, Merit list, Interviews, Reservation Quotas etc.

Normally, we can get admission in private B.Tech colleges after passing class 12th but for getting admission in good/reputed University or colleges we have to give an exam called JEE Mains (Joint Entance Exam). According to the marks scored in this exam, we get placement in B.Tech colleges.

It is common for universities to set a minimum eligibility criteria, often ranging from 50% to 75% in the aggregate of the relevant subjects. But the minimum percentage required in the 12th class can vary from institution to intuition.
