Q:   How effective is the placement cell for B.E. / B.Tech courses at Hitkarini College of Engineering and Technology (HCET)?

A:
{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for BE/BTech Courses at HCET

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's an assessment of the effectiveness of the placement cell for BE/BTech courses at HCET:

* Placement Drive: While some students reported that the placement cell was "quite good" and helped with preparing students for placements, others felt that it wasn't very effective. One reviewer mentioned that only TCS visited the campus for placements, and it recruited only 40 out of 400 students.
* Off-Campus Placements: Many students reported that they had to rely on off-campus placement drives, which were often held in other colleges. This suggests that the college's placement cell may not be very effective in securing jobs for its students.
* Lack of Support: Some reviewers felt that the faculty members were not supportive enough in helping students prepare for placements. Others reported that the course curriculum was not updated, making it difficult for students to gain industry-relevant skills.
* Limited Industry Exposure: Feedback suggested that industry exposure was limited, which could hinder students' chances of getting placed.

Overall, while some positive comments were made about the placement cell, many students expressed disappointment and frustration with the lack of success in securing jobs through the college's placement drive. It appears that the placement cell needs improvement to better serve the students.

Check the placement records of the last 5 years of the college before taking admission.
Placements: In my batch, only 5 toppers were asked for direct interviews, and the rest 30+ students were required to clear the aptitude test. Only 3 of them cleared it and were given a chance for the interview. 4 of the toppers and 1 of the other students got placed in TCS, and the rest were left to seek a job on their own. So, the placement rate is not even 10%. Since TCS was the only hiring company, the package offered was 3.25 LPA for all the students. No other company came for us. No internship was offered. The students who got placed were recruited as assistant engineers.
Infrastructure: The classrooms were good. But there was no Wi-Fi. There were no machines in labs. The faculty members just put pressure on students. The librarian doesn't want to work. You have to stand for at least 1 hour to get a book (maximum 4 books) issued. At the time of return, they just misplace the books to add it up to your fine. I didn't opt for the hostel or food facilities, as I live nearby. But my friends lived there. The college hostel was poor and expensive, so even the girls rented a room outside. I have never seen any medical attendant in the college. Sports are the biggest scam. There are no facilities or support. Even if there's a sports match to be conducted, the faculty members won't allow us to participate as they want us to attend their worthless classes.
Faculty: I will give 2 stars because of 4 to 5 good teachers, and the rest of them are unprofessional and lack knowledge. No matter how good you are, they won't support or help you. They want you to attend their classes. So overall, my experience was the worst. The teachers want to complete the syllabus and give us assignments. Even after following this strategy, most of them were never able to complete the course in any of the semesters. Exams were good, and the only thing was that standard questions were asked. Since no one was dependent on the college for passing, about 80% of students cleared exams.
Other: At that time, I preferred this college because it had got a great reputation since everybody was interested in mechanical or civil. I was good at concepts of electricity, and there were lots of opportunities in M.E.S. and other government jobs in this field. The teachers hired should be tested, and also some subjects were of no use and some important subjects must be added.

Go Below these points before joining (Review from an Allumi).
Placements: The worst, You will find only marketing company that give 10 to 12 k to engineering students. No Core companies has visited in this college from 2011. They organized some campus of core but None of then got the final joining letter. They rely on only TCS who will select 5 - 10 students college (before 2011 TCS placement was comparatively good), From 2018 Tcs not even conduct a drive because of college poor profile and management. No selection of TCS in 2018. So if you want just a degree without any campus. You are welcomed by this college. There was a time when this college was used to be good but now it is not good please be aware about these facts before taking admission.
Infrastructure: College building is good, unique design. But then you are not there to see the building its all about shaping your career which is not good at all. Library has old books. Labs were there but teachers are absent. You will only spend the whole time in completing practical file instead of doing real time practical for which the labs are made for.
Faculty: They have starting hiring new faculty members who are ready to work in less. Old and experience faculty switched to Global and Gyan Ganga College. What can you expect from a new fresh faculty who just started teaching. If you were going to take admission 10 before then I would recommend you this but now it is total waste of your money.
Other: All the 5 star reviews are paid reviews which are placed by the college management itself to hide the real and genuine reviews of students. Mangament is very poor be it tranning and placement or principal. They only care about money instead of your future.

Other: Well starting with pros 1.Good infrastructure 2.Beautiful location. 3. Old College. 4. Limited Fees. Now comes the cons: Campus placements are becoming low day by day as very less MNC except TCS will come. Faculty is not well qualified. Overall it’s an average college since it is not increasing placement and faculty of college but previously on starting day of this college it had a huge brand name but just because of poor management of college it's starts losing its dignity.

Our college has good faculty members and infrastructure.
Placements: Our college has no placements because of the recession. The recession affects our campus placements too much. During the recession, we don't do any internships or industrial programs. More than 50% of students are placed.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is well-designed. There is a three-storied library with a lot of books. A canteen is available and the food served is average. Our college has a small ground for sports and a courtroom for badminton.
Faculty: Our teachers are well-educated and knowledgeable. They were the top scorers of their time. Our teachers are very helpful. They are always ready for our help with projects, assignments, sports, etc. Our teachers are kind and helpful.

HCETians rocks in every field.
Placements: 1. 20% students placed. 2. The highest salary offered was 7 LPA, the lowest 2 LPA, Average 3.5 LPA. 3. ZYCUS, TCS, TELEPERFORMANCE, MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA, were the top recruiters. 4. College Representative role was offered. 95% students got an internship in NTPC, BHEL, INDIAN RAILWAYS, BSNL, MPKVVCL, NCL, SECL. Indian army also came to recruit students.
Infrastructure: 1. Very well developed infrastructure with 3-floor library and advanced labs for chemistry, physics, computer and workshops. Classrooms are equipped with a projector and well ventilated. 2. Airy and clean hostel with spacious rooms. Quality of food was average. The canteen was good but little costly. First aid available and nearby dental college which was also helpful. The college participates in Interstate and Inter-university championships in various sports.
Faculty: 1. The teachers were well experienced and profound in their knowledge. Always ready to clear doubts. Helpful in labs as well. 2. The course doesn't make students industry-ready until they themselves perform practical and get an exposure to the real world.
Other: 1. I was not sure about engineering. Someone told me that Electrical is a good branch and have so many jobs in private as well as public sector so I chose this course. 2. Detailed teaching approach for every topic because when the semester is near to its end, teachers start skipping topics which is not good from exam point of view as well as from knowledge perspective. 3. So many events and fests were organized at college and district level by our college. So many guest faculty lectures were provided to us.
