B.Tech. in Mechanical and Automation Engineering (Lateral Entry) - Batch of 2019
Offered by HMR Institute of Technology and Management
2.6
2Placements3Infrastructure4Faculty2Crowd & Campus Life2Value for Money
Dissatisfied because placement in 2018-19 was very low
Placements: In the mechanical and automation branch, placement is pretty low. Only 2% of the students are placed in our batch. In our course, 12 LPA is the highest package and 3.2 LPA is the lowest package. Unfortunately, no core company come for recruiting in our course instead, the IT companies like TCS hire more students in our batch. Almost 99% of students got internships but through their own sources or by clearing the exams for top organizations like DRDO, BARC, Railways, etc. Some work with private organisations like CNH industries. Most of the students work in design engineering.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is average. Here, classrooms are good with projector facilities in all classes available, benches placed in a proper way in labs, and 70% of machines in working conditions but not included in our practical syllabus. The libraries are in good condition with a good atmosphere available in the library. Wi-Fi is not available in classrooms. The hostel is not available in our college. Canteen food is good but with options limited options for food. Medical facilities are good, sports and games have a special focus and many events are organized here.
Faculty: The teachers are good, highly qualified, and very knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is also pretty good. Due to the lack of equipment in labs, students do not get much practical knowledge. But Supra and BAJA extracurricular events help students in enhancing their knowledge. The semester exam's difficulty level is 9 out of 10. The exams are properly and strictly performed by college staff. The pass percentage is 33%.
Other: I chose this curse because I'd already completed my Diploma in automobile. The mechanical and automation field helped me to gain more knowledge about mechanical plus electronics, which help me a lot in enhancing my knowledge in the automobile sector. I would suggest them to improve studying style and equipment which help students to get more particle knowledge. I wish governments also consider mechanical and automation as mechanical engineering. Because after GATE, you have a fewer number of options for a job. Events and fests are held timely and organised very responsibly. The campus crowd is very low, connectivity is very bad, and the campus is surrounded by farming fields. Scholarship opportunities are good and extracurricular activities are also good.
