MTech programme offered by IIIT Bhagalpur isn't free of cost. Candidates are required to pay the tuition fee amount of  INR 2 Lacs at the end of the admission procedure.These fees are excluded of other fees that are payable only at the time of admission. Other than the programme fee candidates have to pay a application fee for the GATE exam while registering for the exam. The applicatipn fees are : Female/SC/ST/PwD candidates need to pay INR 900 while all other category candidates will have to pay INR 1800 as application fees. However, IIIT Bhagalpur has their own scholarship scheme and Government scheme for the students to help them with their education.

The eligibility criteria for the MTech programme at IIIT Bhagalpur requires candidates to have a valid GATE score in the relevant discipline, a BTech degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA (55% for SC/ST candidates), and a final degree certificate before the prescribed deadline for those in their final year. Also, non-GATE candidate can apply via the institution's official website and appear for the IIIT Bhagalpur's written test and personal interview.

Candiates who have a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 60% aggregate and a valid score of GATE exam are eligibile for the IIIT Bhagalpur M.Tech programme. Candidates must apply for the GATE exam through the GATE official website by registering their name and submitting the application fee. 

The selection to IIIT Bhagalpur M.Tech programme is based on the candidate’s GATE exam score followed by the centralised counselling process regulated by the CCMT through which they are allotted a seat. The seat allotment also depends on the college cutoff and a candidate’s preference for that course and college. GATE registrations usually begin in the month of August.

As the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has started the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 registration on Aug 30. GATE application form 2024 is available online at the exam official website. Aspirants can visit the website to apply. IIIT Bhagalpur M.Tech offers CSE in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The overall rankrequird for admission to this course was 446 in 2022. However, it declined to 350 in the following year 2023. For admission in the CSE course candidates are required to appear for the GATE exam.

IIIT Bhagalpur provides a two-year MTech programme in five specialisations: Signal Processing and Machine Learning, Electric Vehicle Technology, VLSI & Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, and Microwave & Communication Systems. For admission to the M.Tech programme, Candidates must appear for the GATE exam followed by CCMT counselling.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE is an online national-level examination conducted for Master of Engineering (ME), Masters in Technology (MTech). To get into M.Tech programme in IIIT Bhagalpur candidates have to appear for the GATE exam.
