Good placements and chill college life.
Placements: For my course, i.e., Mathematics and Computing, the average package for 2024 was Rs. 2500000. The highest package was Rs. 5100000 and the lowest package was Rs. 600000. About 80% of students in my course were placed in 2024. Top recruiters were Google, Amazon, Uber, etc.
Infrastructure: Lecture halls are well equipped with modern teaching methods. There is no AC in lecture halls.
Some hostels are old but some are new with modern infrastructure. All hostels are well equipped with wifi, 24/7 water and electricity supply. You can't choose a hostel by yourself. It will be assigned to you.
Faculty: Faculties are highly qualified and have expertise in their own field.
There are 42 lectures per course per semester, with 75% attendance compulsory.
Each semester there are two exams—mid semester and end semester—with 32% and 48% weightage, respectively. There are 2 quizzes with 10% weightage each.
Grading is relative.
Other: Campus life is quite peaceful, with several fests and cultural clubs.

IIT-ISM: A HERITAGE Absolutely very satisfied, but exploring remains empty.
Placements: As a first-year student at IIT ISM, that's why I am sharing details about past data from my college, as according to previous-year data, more than 90% of students were placed in my course. The highest, the lowest, and the average package of my course were about 29 lacs per year. The top recruiting companies in my course are Google, Amazon, Microsoft, etc. Every year, more than 80% of students intern at various technological companies. My course offered was to develop a conclusion between mathematics and computers, which are most essential in various teaching companies.
Infrastructure: A LAN connection is provided in the hostel, and the library provides Wi-Fi as it has lunch accommodation to study in. Labs are providing facilities according to need. Classes are good, and we have a projector and LCD for presentations. Hostels are excellent, as some are newer and have more amenities than holders. The quality of food provided in a mess is good. There are many canteens available on campus. Campus has medical facilities and an ambulance for emergencies. Sports and games often have contests.
Faculty: The faculty is so nice as they are Ph.D. qualified and have teaching experience of an average 10 years in various prestige institutes. Yes, the course curriculum is based on industrial needs and makes students compete in every aspect. Semester exams are of medium difficulty; the pass percentage is not given but is relevant.
Other: As per my interest in mathematics, I was chosen for this course. The best thing about my course is that it combined knowledge and working mathematics with programming. In my college, there are a lot of events according to our interest in joining, which makes us skilled. College festivals are Khanan, Concetto, Srijan, and Parakram. The campus surroundings are greenery, which is very beautiful. There are a lot of extracurricular activities to do as per interest.

IIT ISM DHANBAD—from the eye of a pre-final year student.
Placements: In my branch, there are around 60 students. Out of that, 20 people have received a pre-placement offer by doing an internship. The remaining 25 people got placed during the placement season this year. The highest package has been around 2.3 crore in a quant profile and has gone as low as 12–13 LPA. Top companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Sprinkler, Google, etc., have visited. As mentioned, 20 out of 60 got an internship. For interns, these same companies have come. The roles offered are quant-related, data analytics, data science, software development engineering, etc.
Infrastructure: In the hostel, there is LAN facility, and the library has Wi-Fi. The hostel is very good. I stayed in Aquamarine, which is a 13-story building and has all the facilities. For the people who are sick, we have ambulances to take them to the health center. All sports facilities and coaches are available.
Faculty: Teachers are okayish. They are very knowledgeable but bad at explaining, and it's a little hard to connect with them. The curriculum is very good, and the exams are also conducted fairly. Exams are difficult; I would say at the same level as our board exams.
Other: Our branch seniors are very good and guide us through all the steps. I selected it because I was interested in CSE, and this is the branch offering CSE + Maths. Srijan is easy; India's largest festival is conducted here. This time Shan, the singer, had come. Sports Fest Parakram took place recently.

Satisfied with the placements but better infrastructure is needed.
Placements: I am pursuing an integrated master of technology in mathematics and computing. It is one of the best branches of the college and the average package offered is also really good. It is almost 30 lacs. Almost all the top multinational companies come to our college and hire students. Almost the placement percentage is 90–100%. Almost all the students who have a better CGPA get their internships in their third year. They can even get an internship in their second year. All the top roles are offered to students like data analyst, summer trainee, SDE, etc. The highest package is more than 1 crore.
Infrastructure: The facilities for the course are good but the hostel facilities are quite decent. The campus has one of the largest libraries and provides all the study materials needed. The facilities in the hostel are okay; we get food of good quality but the taste is not that good. The medical facilities are good. We have a health center. The campus has almost all sports facilities and 2 grounds.
Faculty: The professors are very good, as it is an IIT. The quality of the teaching is also very good. The course curriculum is also very good, as this is an IIT and has one of the best curricula. The students are perfectly prepared for industry, as we get very good placements. The semester exams are a bit difficult compared to other institutes. The pass percentage is between 25 and 30%.
Other: I chose this colle for the branch I am getting into. The best things about the course are the interns and placements we get. The improvements that should be made are in infrastructure, which is not up to par. There are many events that take place on campus. Even the festivals that happen are very good, like srijan (a sociocultural festival) and concetto (a techno management festival). The connectivity on the campus is excellent. The extracurricular activities are also very good and there are student clubs in the college that encourage students to follow their passions along with studying.

Our college IIT ISM is not only a college for studies but also a place for increasing skills.
Placements: In our group, a batch of 53 students were present and almost all the students secured placements. The highest package is 1.5 crore per annum, the least is 10 lacs per annum and the average package is around 30–40 lacs. Top recruiting companies are Goldman Sachs and Barclays, UK.
Infrastructure: After some years, they made this one an IIT ISM college. The class room is quite large and we have well-placed infrastructure. Our class is equipped with projectors and we are taught basically with their help. The food in our hostel is quite bad .
Faculty: The teaching faculty of our course integrated master of technology in mathematics and computing are well trained; they are very good at teaching and explaining concepts well in a way that can make everyone understand them easily. The curriculum is for our course.
Other: I have been interested in math since my childhood and my parents wished that I needed to live in a nice, happy place that made me concentrate on my dreams. Our college celebrates festivals like technical, cultural and sports festivals too. The main tech festival is Concetto, which is mainly celebrated by Telegu community members; the sports festival is Parakram; and the cultural festival is mainly Srijan.
