Step 1: Visit the IIIT Nagpur official website.

Step 2: Hover over the top menu and select the desired course from the "Admissions" tab.

Step 3: Click on the link to the admission portal.

Step 4: Register by entering the required details.

Step 5: Upload important documents and pay the application fee to submit the form.

PhD applications at IIIT Nagpur can be filled in online mode with all the relevant documents attached and a separate hard copy of the same application filled online must be sent by post as a backup. To avail the online form, a gmail account is essential. Mentioned below is the list of documents requied during application:

• Mark sheets and certificate of Class 10, Class 12 and graduation
• NOC from the current employer
• Experience/ service certificate for all the previous employments (in period of five years)
• EWS and OBC-NCL certificate (wherever applicable)
• Cast Validity certificate for SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL candidates belonging to the state of Maharashtra
• SC/ ST/ PwD certificates (wherever applicable)
• Scanned copy of NEFT payment receipt or scanned copy of DD for online form and actual DD or original NEFT receipt for hard copy form

Candidates, to be eligible, must write GATE exam. However, for final selection, the institute conductes a college-level entrance and also conducts a Personal Interview round to shortlist students. In addition to this, candidates must have also completed their master's degree in Engineering/ Technology along with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology with 60% aggregate.

The total tuition fee for BTech at IIIT Nagpur is INR 7.92 lakh. This fee, however, is sourced from unofficial sources, hence it is indicative. As per the official fee structure released in 2022, the total fee is close to INR 9.34 lakh. But this amount is inclusive of the one-time deposits. However, hostel fee and caution deposits are not included in it.  

IIIT Nagpur is one of the new IIITs inaugarated under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) scheme. Although it is not as famous as its other IIIT counterparts, the institute is certainly a prestigious institute in the field of engineering. With increasing competition, high cutoffs, and a limited amount of seats available at the institute, it is quite a challenge to secure at the institute. However, with the right amount of preparation and continuous efforts, even average students can definitely secure a seat at the institute.  BTech admisison to IIIT Nagpur is based on candidate’s JEE Main exam score followed by the centralised counselling process regulated by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) through which candidates are allotted the seat. The seat allotment also depends on the college cutoff and a candidate’s preference for that course and college. However, for the remaining vacant seats, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) manages the counselling process. 

IIIT Nagpur offers BTech, PhD, and other courses to students in a full-time mode. The programmes are offered in the streams of Engineering, IT, and Software. The duration of the BTech course is four-year. The candidates are selected through national-level examinations such as JEE Main/ GATE conducted by different authorities followed by an interview round.
