IISER Kolkata Placements 2024: Average Package, Median Package and Students Placed

IISER Kolkata offers decent placement, it is a reputed institute, so it provides good placement, and various top recruiters participate in its placement drive. IISER Kolkata placement 2022 is not completed yet. The institute aims to achieve a higher percentage of placements every year and thus facilitates students with all requirements and organises various skill-enhancing and learning programmes. Though there is no recent update for the placements thus the information given below is based on previous years' data analysis.

IISER recruitment process is associated with various authorised companies which enable the placed students with all requirements and training in each sector. The company guides the newcomers in each step and makes them comfortable in the work environment. The list of top recruiters of the institution is given below in the table.

The median package offered was INR 6 LPA during placements 2021. However, the median package of INR 7 LPA was offered in 2021. The stats we got from this year's campus placements at IISER-B are highly varied. For instance, the highest package offered was around 10.5 - 11 LPA, whereas the lowest was around 5.5 - 6 LPA. 

On the other hand Presidency University is a good college for physics Hons with great faculty members and good infrastructure. Placements: Physics is not a technical course, so there is no such placement in this course. However, it is the best course to go for higher studies. Students can get a chance to do their PhD from abroad. So placements in Presidency University is good as IISER on their equal terms. 

The highest package offered to students placed from IISER Kolkata is INR 12 LPA approximately. The Centre for Career Development, IISER Kolkata helps students in their career planning, career exploration, job search strategies, locating suitable job opportunities, internships, full-time employment etc. The main aim of the centre is to take care of IISER Kolkata placements. Its objective is to provide full-time job opportunities and internships in campus interviews to students who are seeking employment in the public or private sectors. Apart from recruitment objectives, the centre also aims for the overall development of the students to shape their careers so that they can be the best in their fields. According to the IISER Kolkata placement report for IISER Kolkata 2019-20, for undergraduate courses, out of 172 eligible students, 11 were offered jobs while 102 opted for higher studies. The median salary offered to students who have completed the undergraduate course at IISER Kolkata in 2019-20 was Rs. 7,00,000. 

I do not have much data on this, But a few (4) of my seniors were placed in Dr. Reddy's lab with salaries around 9lpa.It being a Science institute, they have. A newly made placement cell. (because most of the students opt for higher education after the completion of their studies )Some students also go for government jobs.But as the institute has signed some MoU s with well established foreign institutes (with jku Austria, UDE in Germany, university of Pennsylvania in USA, RWTH Aachen in Germany to name a few)and the high standings in global rankings (placed 48th in young institutes contributing to quality research world-wide by nature, 2019)These factors contribute to a good enough background for a future PhD or MS in other countries. B.Sc in biological sciences is atop course in IISER Kolkata and has a better placement, having average package 7 LPA and higher package is approximately 14 to 15 LPA.
