IIT Indore, like many other IITs, typically requires candidates to appear for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) for M.Tech admissions. IIT Indore offers M.Tech programme under eight specialisations. To be eligible for these specialisations candidates need class 12 with 60%. The names of the specialisations offfered is tabulated below:

When considering the BTech programme among IIT Indore, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Roorkee, each institution has its own strengths.

IIT Roorkee, with a NIRF ranking of 5, stands out as the top choice, offering a range of BTech programs. IIT Hyderabad follows closely behind with a NIRF ranking of 8, providing a competitive academic environment. IIT Indore, with a NIRF ranking of 14, is also a reputable choice, known for its quality education. The course fees are similar among these institutions, making financial considerations less of a differentiator. All three colleges are one of the premier institutions and getting admission to any college is an achievement but as these colleges are almost similarly ranked, getting admission to any depends on the personal choice.

The total tuition fee for the M.Tech programme at IIT Indore ranges between INR 28,000 - INR 1.6 lakh. The highest and average package secured after the completion of two-year M.Tech programme were INR 37 LPA and INR 9.96 LPA respectively. Considering the tuition fee and the salary secured this seems to be a good return on the investement.

Qualifying marks for JEE Mains 2024 also, called qualifying percentile for JEE Mains 2024 will be announced by the NTA along with the session 2 result. Candidates must note that qualifying percentile for JEE Mains 2024 is the minimum percentile required to appear in JEE Advanced 2024. For admission to NIT or IIITs, there is no provision of qualifying marks in JEE Mains 2024 and admission is given based on All India Rank in JEE Mains exam. NTA will announce JEE Mains 2024 All India rank in April after session 2 exam results.

 Admission to the BTech programme is completely entrance exam-based, i.e., based on JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced scores. Candidates seeking admission to BTech can not get admission to IIT Indore with only the scores of JEE Main. JEE Advanced followed by JoSAA counselling is the only selection criteria followed by the institute. However, to be eligible for the BTech programme, students are required to have passed their Class 12 with at least 75% aggregate with Science subjects (i.e., Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). 

To be selected for M.Tech programme at IIT Indore candidates must meet eligibility criteria i.e., graduation with 60%. A valid GATE score in the relevant field is essential for consideration. Candidates apply online, providing personal and academic details, and may undergo written tests and interviews based on their chosen specialisation. IIT Indore compiles a merit list, factoring in GATE scores, test/interview performance, and academic records. The Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) may be used for seat allotment, followed by document verification and fee payment to confirm admission.

IIT Indore - Indian Institute of Technology will release 6 rounds of JEE Advanced cutoffs for admission to BTech The cutoffs will be released on a rolling basis, and the seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cutoffs will be based on the following factors:

IIT Indore JAM Cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 2. The most competitive course was M.Sc in Biotechnology with the Cutoff rank of 64. For the OBC AI category candidates, the Cutoff for M.Sc in Biotechnology closed at 135.

If the Cutoff rank is more than 64, for the General AI category candidates, there is no scope for admission to IITs for M.Sc in Biotechnology.
