The GATE 2026 registrations are now over for admission to ME/MTech courses. The GATE 2026 exam will be conducted on Feb 7, Feb 8, Feb 14, and Feb 15, 2026.
A few more updates are given below:
- The JEE Main 2026 registration process for IIT Ropar admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses is expected to start from Oct 2025 onwards. For session 1, the JEE Main 2026 exam will tentatively be conducted between Jan 21 and Jan 30, 2026.
- The IIT JAM 2026 exam date for the MSc course is Feb 15, 2026.
- MTech/PhD 2025 applications are closed now.

IIIT Allahabad accpets JEE Main score for admission to the BTech courses. As per the IIIT Allahabad cutoff 2023, the Last Round closing rank for BTech ranged between 5924 and 9558, among which Information Technology was the most competitive specialisation. The Round 1 closing rank for BTech ranged between 4817 and 8428 for BTech.
So, considering the previous year Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks, candidates seeking admission to IIIT Allahabad must secure a rank over and above 4800 and 9600 for the General ALL India category candidates.
Candidates can refer to the table given below to check out the 2023 Last Round closing ranks for IIIT Allahabad to get an idea of the ranks required for all the BTech courses offered at this institute:

Those candidates who are aiming for admission to ECE at IIT Ropar cannot avail this course as it was not offered in 2024. However, under the acquired rank of 7000, candidates can opt for Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering Physics, and Chemical Engineering programs. Further, as per the IIT Ropar cutoff 2024 for JEE Advanced, the cutoff rank for aforementioned courses for the General AI category candidates stood at 8836, 10097, and 11365, respectively.
Candidates who could not qualify for the JEE Main exam can go for other courses. If BTech aspirants have missed the JEE Main, worry not they can go for the JEE Main entrance exam the next year. Follow the IIT Ropar application process mentioned below:

MTech at IIT Ropar is a PG course offered in the full-time mode. IIT Ropar fees are cumulative of components such as one-time payment, tuition fees, hostel charges and more. The tuition fees for MTech is INR 34000 for two years. The hostel fee amount to INR 37200. Additionally, selected candidates must pay a one-time fee at the time of admission. The cut off rank in Round 6 for BTech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering is 2496 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. The foundation stone for the permanent IIT Ropar permanent campus was laid in 2009, but it was in June 2019, that IIT Ropar completely shifted to its permanent campus located in Rupnagar, Punjab. IIT Ropar hostel fees vary for different courses. In 2025, the semester-wise hostel fee for B.Sc. and B.Ed courses is INR 31500. This is valid for new admission only till 31st December 2025. Details regarding the same are tabulated below:
