Established by the Indian government, IIT Kanpur is one of the most eminent institutes. It was founded in 1959, IIT Kanpur is a government institute that offers various courses across five different fields at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. CAT 2023 exam date is November 26. The CAT 2023 registration has started from August 2 and the last date to apply for CAT is September 13, 2023. The CAT score will be accepted for admission Candidates need to register and appear for CAT 2023. The CAT 2023 registration fee has been increased again this year. Now the fee is INR 2,400 for General/NC-OBC candidates and INR 1,200 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. There is no other change in CAT from last year. The

Not getting into IIT Kanpur or any other top IIT should not be considered an end to a student’s career. NTA announced JEE Main 2024 dates. NTA coducted the JEE Main 2024 exam in two sessions. JEE Main 2024 exam date session 1 was January 24 to February 1 while the second session was held from April 4 to 15. Candidates can check JEE Main 2024 exam date session 1 and 2 on this page.  JEE Main 2024 application form session 1 was available from November 1 to December 4. For session 2, NTA released application form on February 2.

IIT Kanpur BTech course fee is INR 8 Lakhs. However, this fee is sourced from unofficial sources. Hence, is indicative. For the exact fee, students can reach out to the admission office. Other than this, students are required to pay the JEE Main application fee which is INR 625 (for boys) and INR 325 (for girls). For JEE Advanced, the application fee ranges from INR 1,400 to INR 2,800 for different category students.

The cut off rank in Round 6 for B.Sc. in Chemistry is 11824 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in IIT Kanpur - Indian Institute of Technology.

IIT Kanpur offers numerous undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses, including BTech, BSc, MTech, MSc, MBA, MDes, MSc+PhD, MS by Research, and PhD. The institute also offers several integrated courses for candidates willing to change their courses. The duration for all the UG and PG courses ranges from two to five years depending on the course. For admission to any of these courses, students are either required to apply via the official website of the institute or via the accepted exam's official website.

Qualifying marks for JEE Mains 2024 also, called qualifying percentile for JEE Mains 2024 will be announced by the NTA along with the session 2 result. Candidates must note that qualifying percentile for JEE Mains 2024 is the minimum percentile required to appear in JEE Advanced 2024. For admission to NIT or IIITs, there is no provision of qualifying marks in JEE Mains 2024 and admission is given based on All India Rank in JEE Mains exam. NTA will announce JEE Mains 2024 All India rank in April after session 2 exam results.

The IIT Kanpur MSc cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 1, wherein the M.Sc. in Statistics is the most competitive specialisation with a closing rank of 58 for the General AII India category students. The least competitive course is M.Sc. in Mathematics with a cutoff rank of 131. So, candidates seeking admission to any of the MSc courses must secure a rank up to 131 to be eligible for IIT Kanpur. 

IIT Kanpur admission to the MSc course is based on IIT JAM scores, followed by the IIT JAM counselling process. Only candidates on the JAM 2024 merit list based on JAM 2024 scorecard will be eligible to apply for admission. 

In order to apply for BS at IIT Kanpur, candidates are required to go through the official application of JEE Main followed by applying for JEE Advanced. The process to apply for JEE Mains 2023 consists of three steps, i.e, registration, form filling & document upload followed by payment of application fees. All steps are as follows:

1. Open the official website (jeemain.nta.nic.in) and click on the ‘Registration for JEE (Main) 2023’ link.
2. Fill out the registration form with the required information followed by clicking on the submit button.
3. Fill the detailed application form and upload scanned images and documents.

IIT Kanpur offers the M.Tech programme in 15 specialisations, including Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering & Management, Photonics Science & Engineering, Sustainable Energy Engineering and Earth Sciences. IIT Kanpur BTech cutoff 2024 has been released across multiple specialisations. Based on the Round 1 seat allotment, the BTech cutoff scores ranged between 248 and, 10037 for the General AII India category students. Among all the BTech specialisations, BTech in CSE is the most competitive specialisation. The Last Round for Computer Science and Engineering is 248 for the General AI category.

The closing rank of round one for the IIT Kanpur BSc Economics course for the year 2023 through the JEE Advanced was 3,242 while on another hand the closing rank of last round for the BSc Economics course was 3,653.
