The GATE 2025 registration process with late fee is closed now for admission to the MTech course. The GATE 2025 exam will be conducted on Feb 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025.

JEE Main 2025 Session 1 registration has closed for IIT Patna admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses. The JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exam is scheduled to be held from Jan 22 to Jan 31, 2025.
The JEE Advanced 2025 exam date has been announced for the BTech course. As per the official website, the JEE Advanced 2025 exam will be conducted on May 18, 2025. Further, the application form will be released in Apr 2025.
The IIT JAM 2025 online registration process for admission to the MSc course has closed now. The IIT JAM 2025 exam is scheduled to be held on Feb 2, 2025.

IIT Patna Admission Process 2025

liIIT Patna admission is completely an online process. For admission to its flagship course, i.e., BTech, the institute accepts JEE Advanced scores followed by JoSAA Counselling. Students are also required to qualify JEE Main exam before appearing for JEE Advanced. In addition to its flagship course, IIT Patna offers BS, MSc, MTech and PhD courses to the students at UG, PG and doctoral levels. While admission to MTech and MSc is subject to GATE and IIT JAM, respectively, the admission process for BS is subject to a valid score in JEE Main, JEE Advanced followed by JoSAA counselling.

The admission cycle for BTech programmes generally commences in December with JEE Main registrations. The below table mentions IIT Patna course admissions entrance exams accepted with their admission eligibility criteria: IIT Patna offers a range of UG, PG, and doctoral courses in Engineering, Management and Science, among others, admission to which is completely an online process conducted via the relevant exam and their conducting bodies. IIT Patna fee is cumulative of multiple components such as tuition fee, hostel fee, library deposit, training and placement fee, etc. However, to collect the fee, the institute might follow various procedures, terms and conditions. IIT Patna Admission Process 2025

IIT Patna has a multi-step admission process which students need to follow to get into the institute. Beginning with the application, interested candidates are required to go through the course-specific entrance exam followed by other selection rounds (if applicable). BTech, BArch and BSc/ BS aspirants must fill out the application form for JEE (Main) via the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) (nta.ac.in).

Q: Can I get IIT Patna without JEE Advanced?

Yes, it is possible to join IIT Patna wihout JEE Advanced for courses other than BTech. For BTech programme JEE Advanced with JEE Mains is necessary. For other courses, such as M.Tech the asping candidates need to clear GATE with COAP counselling. Candidates who are seeking admission to the MTech, BBA, BSc or EMBA need not take JEE Advanced.

Q: Can I change my BTech branch after admission to IIT Patna?

In general, students admitted to the particular branch of the undergraduate BTech course must continue studying that branch till completion. However, in special cases the institute may permit a student admitted through JEE to change their branch of study after the first two semesters. Such changes are permitted only for students who have completed all the common credits required in the first two semesters of their studies, in their first attempt, without having had to pass any course requirement in the summer term examination.

Q: Can I study BTech at IIT Patna for free?

No, there is no provision of a student studying free at IIT Patna as per the official website. However, IIT Patna provides a range of Merit-Cum-Means scholarships to meritorious and needy students. Any UG (BTech) student or MSc student can receive these scholarships. The criteria to receive is that the annual income of a student's parents/ guardian/ family from all sources in the preceding financial year must not be more than INR 4.50 lakh. Category-wise eligibility criteria and the way in which the scholarship is offered is as follows:

IIT Patna MTech is offered across more than ten specialisations. The PG-level course lasts for two years and has a total of four semesters. Artificial Intelligence,Power and Control, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, etc., are some of the MTech specialisations offered at IIT Patna. IIT Patna JEE Mains is a four-step process that includes registration, filling in the academic and personal information, uploading the necessary documents, and fee payment. Follow the steps below to fill out the JEE Main 2024 application form for IIT Patna admission:

Step 1: Visit the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Step 2: Select the option that says "New Candidate Registration."

Step 3: Complete the registration form with the necessary data, then click on the "submit" button. A login ID and password will be sent to the registered mobile phone or email ID.

Faculty is not as good as I thought.

Placements: Almost 89% of students from our course were placed. The lowest package offered was 6 LPA, while the highest was 40 LPA. Tata Steel is one of the top recruiters for Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Around 67% of students got internships from our course, with roles like managers in Tata Steel, etc.

Infrastructure: There are many labs and sufficient classrooms for all students. The college has a library, and a central library is under construction. Wi-Fi is not available for first-year students; only LAN is provided in the hostels. Hostel facilities are good, and the quality of food is also decent. Medical facilities are available 24/7.

Faculty: The faculty is good, and the teachers are somewhat helpful. They are qualified, but the experience is not as much as I expected. The course prepares students for the industry. Semester exams are quite hard, and the pass percentage is around 32%. There are good teachers and professors, but the faculty could be better.

Other: I got this course through the JEE Advanced entrance test. The crowd in our course is not as large as in CSE. Labs could be improved. There are four fests conducted on campus.

Sharing my experience of IIT PATNA .

Placements: It is a new type of hybrid course offered by IIT Patna. As this is a new course, there is still some time for the first batch to pass out, but overall they provide good support by regularly holding webinars and question-answer sessions. A new training and placement cell has been made for the hybrid students to support them with their preparation.

Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure is great and very huge. They have separate buildings for each department. But one thing I want to add is they don't look after the mess facilities for the B.Sc. students. We faced a lot of issues regarding food. And the hostel and the bathrooms are neat and clean.

Faculty: The professors are helpful in nature and highly knowledgeable. They teach in a very understanding manner, but some of them make the easy things hard to understand. I am not saying that all of them are good; we just have to compromise with them. But yes, you can go for it.

Reasons to choose IIT BBA over other BBA.

Placements: The college will provide placements as they promised. But the placements won't be like B.Tech programs because our mode of learning is online or distance, and the outcome that employers or the college expect might not be the same.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure at this college is good. The hostels have all the essentials, such as Wi-Fi, lifts, water coolers, and study tables. They also have washing machines for students to use. The classrooms are modern and have air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and power outlets for laptops. However, the mess food is terrible, and I don't know of any medical services that are available.

Faculty: The teachers are extremely qualified, coming from top institutions like IIM and industry leaders like KPMG and EY. The course curriculum is industry-focused, which makes it relevant. However, the mode of learning is online, which makes it a bit questionable. The semester exams are of moderate difficulty, and the pass percentage is around 60 to 70%.

B.Tech is better than B.Sc. from IITP.

Placements: Currently, no batch passed out, and no one knows about the future, and there is no interaction with seniors, and nothing looks like internship opportunities. There are 1250 and more students in one batch, so there is very tough completion in placement, but they say 100% placements are offered.

Infrastructure: Course infrastructure is good. There are 4 subjects: English, math, computer science, and data analytics. There are many assignments, quizzes, and many more things. Every thing is in online mode; a professor teaches in online mode. And I didn't say anything about the hostel because in B.Sc. there is no hostel allotment.

Faculty: Our teachers are so helpful, as whatever need we have, they give their best to us. Every teacher is well qualified with a PhD degree. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant to me, and this curriculum makes us ready for industry. Exams are moderate.

IIT Patna review for B.Tech. in Civil Engineering.

Placements: About 75% of our course's students were placed after graduation. The highest salary offered was 40 LPA, the lowest was 7 LPA, and the average package was 12 LPA. The top recruiting companies are L&T and TVS. If you want to do an internship in this course, you will have to try off-campus. The top roles are structural engineer, site engineer, and project manager.

Infrastructure: The college has good Wi-Fi in every building and in each classroom. The Wi-Fi speed is very good, averaging around 400 mbps and sometimes going as high as 1 gbps. The sports facilities are very nice, with a specific ground for every sport. We can find almost any sport we want to play at our college. There's a 24x7 hospital facility on campus, and the canteen has Nescafe, Angeethi, and Banjara to eat.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and qualified. Every teacher has a Ph.D. degree from a top university in India or abroad. The course curriculum is relevant and industry-ready, and semester exams are of moderate difficulty. Nearly 95% of students pass the exams.

Other: I chose this course because of my rank, and I genuinely like it. The events and fests are good, but connectivity is not so good. You have to come to Bihta, which is almost 35 km from Patna, and then take an auto, which charges a lot.

Amazed by the infrastructure, yet to find out about the internship and placement claims.

Placements: Our college offers up to 100% placement. The highest package is about 80 lakhs; the average package sits around 23–27 lakhs. One example of a top recruiting company for our college would be Infosys. Every student gets at least one scholarship offer from the college.

Infrastructure: The classrooms have amazing technological facilities such as smart boards, projectors, microphones for teachers and a student capacity of 80–145 students per lecture hall. The hostel and food facilities were very satisfactory; hygienic fresh food was being served, as was the cleanliness of the hostel and the rooms.

Faculty: Teachers seemed to have grip over their subjects and the teaching quality is amazing, as the faculty always makes sure the students are comfortable with the concept before moving onto the next one. Exam difficulty depends on how the student prepares for it, as everything on the exam is based on what is being taught in class.

Other: I chose this course because it provides knowledge in a variety of emerging future domains. Even though the exam and study pattern are well planned by the course directors, it might be better if they give more weight to the offline exam. Events are awesome; the campus is built in a massive area and can handle a huge amount of crowds at once.
