B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2022

Absolutely satisfied because of faculty, good placements, really good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: The campus placements are completely different than off-campus placements, I have seen person who started preparing just a week before the placements gets into very good company. The best part about campus placements is that they give opportunity to each and every student, whereas in off-campus placements, sometimes after being super-skilled, you cannot get your resume shortlisted. The most important aspect of any campus drive is the aptitude round; often CSE students take aptitude slightly. The students with very good coding skills and top-notch programming knowledge cannot clear his aptitude round. So, my advice to all the students preparing for campus drives is to practice aptitude very well, as it is the first round in almost every company.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is very good. There are 2 boys hostels and a girls hostel, and the hostels are well-maintained. A Wi-Fi facility is available on the campus. A big cricket field, a football ground, a basketball court, and all sports are available. There are 3 meals, and the quality of the food is good and tasty. College buses are available for almost all routes in Chennai, so there will be no issues in travel. Faculty members are quite good and have experience of more than 10 years. Most of them did their graduation from top universities. The course curriculum is excellent and covers all aspects that make students job-ready. Placements are very good in this college; most students are selected by top companies. There is an incubation centre inside the campus that will develop the research and development activities of the students. Students are given training from the second year for innovative projects. It is a very good place to learn.
Faculty: Teachers put heart in their job and connect with students to pass on the content to be delivered. Teachers add value to a student's life by imparting content to develop their ability to think on a daily basis. So, dear friend, they deserve to be grateful for the services provided. Just say thank you for your devoted teaching, all the good words said for me and boosting my morale. Thank you for those learning ticks, which I will cherish in building my aptitude. Thank you for the repeated corrections leading to doing things right.
Other: I chose this course to help and provide education to sick people.

B.E. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering - Batch of 2025

The college has good infrastructure, and this year it has achieved autonomous institute status.
Placements: Placement from the Electronics and Telecommunication department is quite good for the 2024 batch, with students being placed in companies like IBM, PWC, Hexaware, etc. The average package ranges from 3 to 5 LPA. The Computer Department has even better placement records, with many students securing placements in 2024.
Infrastructure: The campus boasts a better environment with large, green, and beautiful surroundings. Only girls' hostels are provided within the college premises, while boys have the option of private hostels or PGs. Numerous food stalls inside the campus cater to lunch needs after the break. Adequate security measures are in place on campus.
Faculty: Faculty members are supportive, and a 75% attendance is compulsory. Regular practical and theory sessions are conducted, and well-equipped labs and computers are available for practical sessions. Innovation labs, equipped with necessary project materials such as wires and boards, are provided for projects.

Thinking the Civil Engineering Curriculum.
Placements: Imperial College of Engineering and Research has 80-90% placements, with top companies like L&T and Suroj Bidcom hiring around 60-70% of the student base. Salaries range from 3 Lacs to 10 Lacs annually. The institute prepares students for roles like Site Managers and Junior Engineers.
Infrastructure: Imperial College of Engineering and Research boasts superior facilities, including high-speed Wi-Fi for seamless connectivity, modern and well-equipped classrooms for effective learning, state-of-the-art computer labs with advanced software, and a comprehensive library with a vast collection of resources. These facilities provide students with an optimal learning environment.
Faculty: The faculty at Imperial College is renowned, but teaching quality can be inconsistent. Some instructors struggle to connect with students, making coursework challenging. While the curriculum is academically rigorous, it may not fully prepare students for industry. Passing semesters can be difficult due to the demanding nature of the coursework.
Other: Civil engineering, the foundation branch of engineering, offers immense scope. However, the current education system and outdated syllabus need a revamp. While this college provides opportunities, there's room for more frequent and diverse events.

Best time of Life was spent here.
Placements: CS IT students get placements, but mechanical students do not get even 10% of placements. 10-15 students are placed by the college; most of us are placed in regional Pune companies, with a few placed in Mahindra & Mahindra and Skoda. The salary offered is 25,000/month. We all get internships because it is in the syllabus, but no stipend is provided. The roles offered are maintenance engineer and design engineer.
Infrastructure: College location is easily accessible, and the infrastructure and campus are cool. Free internet is available everywhere, but there is a mobile network issue on the campus. Classrooms are big and have facilities like fans, tables, and projectors. Hostel rooms and facilities are good, but its food is not good. We have a nearby canteen, but it has only good tea, not food.
Faculty: Teachers are very good; they support us in projects like E-baha, Samaskara competition. We together built an E-racing bike. The course curriculum is designed by Savitribai Phule University. Semester exams are difficult, and we don't have combined passing; we have to score 40% in all kinds of exams.
Other: In college, the mobile network is very low sometimes; we can't make urgent calls, and that needs to be fixed.

Reality and my experience.
Placements: In reality, placement is good only for computer people; for me, placements are the worst. Apart from our curriculum, we have to go through Python, C, and cloud computing to get placed at TCS and Cognizant. Most of our batch got internships instead of full-time jobs, and after 6 months, most of us got terminated.
Infrastructure: The college campus is fresh and green, and buildings have facilities like lifts and physical disability services. Free Wi-Fi is available in college; the hostel is only for girls, not for us but in the area, many rooms and mess facilities are available, and the canteen food is fresh and good.
Faculty: Teachers are the best thing I got in this college, more than friends and family; in teaching, qualification, and guidance, they are the best. Course curricula make students industry-ready; they consist of the latest technologies. Semester exams are held in an 80-20 pattern: 80 for the end semester and 20 internal.
Other: I chose this course because I don't know; later in my third year, I realized I might have to choose CS or IT.

An average college for mechanical.
Placements: I got placed in Yazaki India, but only a few from our class secured placements. I remember a company from MIDC came to hire us at 8000/month, which was very disheartening. No top companies came to recruit. In internships, no stipend is provided; good internships only hire CS students. The top role offered is Maintenance Engineer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good; I loved the campus greenery and the fresh environment. We can study in the garden during exam times. Wi-Fi is available everywhere on campus, including the canteen and library. Hostel rooms are small, but I really enjoyed that time; no ragging happens, making it a very safe place. The mess food quality is good, and they provide fruits along with meals. The playground for sports is in the backyard of the college.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, especially our department HOD, who is very supportive and friendly in nature. After completing chapters, we have to present any topic from the chapters in front of our class. The course curriculum is relevant to the industry. Semester exams are difficult; a combined passing score of 40% is needed to clear a subject.
Other: For mechanical, I recommend considering other colleges, but for gaining knowledge, our college is good.

Q:   Can I get admission in Imperial College of Engineering for B.Tech with 60% in Class 12th?

A:

Your 60% in Class 12th puts you in a good position for seeking admission in B.Tech at Imperial College of Engineering, Pune. However, meeting the minimum eligibility criteria is just one step in the process. Several other factors can influence your chances:

Entrance Exams:

*JEE Main: Admission to B.Tech programs at the college primarily relies on securing a good score in JEE Main. While the required scores may vary slightly for different branches, a score exceeding 80-90 percentile would significantly improve your chances.

*MHT CET: For candidates residing in Maharashtra, scoring well in MHT CET can also be a route to admission. Again, aiming for a percentile above 80-90 would be advisable.

*Additional factors:

*Reservation Criteria: Depending on your caste category and domicile status, you might benefit from reservation quotas allotted in certain seats.

*Seat Availability: The competition for B.Tech seats at Imperial College is usually high, and the availability of seats in your preferred branch could affect your chances.

*Other Selection Criteria: Some branches might consider factors like marks in specific subjects in Class 12th or conduct aptitude tests for further selection.

Therefore, merely having 60% in Class 12th does not guarantee admission. Focus on performing well in your chosen entrance exam and stay informed about the specific selection criteria for your preferred B.Tech branch at Imperial College.

Good luck with your application!
