It has pretty good infrastructure, good research Is going on and has good placements in 2023.
Placements: At IIT Mandi, about 90% of students were placed during the latest placement season. The highest package offered was 60 LPA, while the average was 25.23 LPA. Top recruiters included Microsoft, Amazon, IBM, and TCS. Around 75 pre-placement offers (PPOs) were made, with internships provided by companies like ISRO and Tata Motors. Major roles included software engineering, data analysis, and core engineering.
Infrastructure: Since it's a 2009 built IIT, it has pretty good infrastructure. It has all the required labs with all the necessary equipment. Every hostel, mess, and academic block has a Wi-Fi connection. In rooms, they provide a bed, study table, chair, and a locker. Mess and canteen food is okay; South Indians may face issues with the food.
Faculty: The faculty is well-qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive, ensuring quality teaching. Industry relevance and blending theory with practical skills ensure students are ready to join the industry after passing out. The exams are fair and challenging yet ensure a good pass percentage, indicating effective teaching and successful students.

College experience of IIT Mandi.
Placements: 85 percent of students got placed last year. Google, Microsoft, DE Shaw, Arista Networks, Warner Bros., Inmobi, Zomato, Sprinklr, and Avalara are some top recruitment companies. Some mass recruiters are TCS, Infosys, Global Logic, and HCL. Some PSUs are HPCL, BPCL, etc.
Infrastructure: All facilities are there, from wifi to libraries and classrooms. Refrigerator, oven and inductions are provided at hostels. Irons, geysers and all other accommodations are also there. There were separate meals too for Jain and vegetarians. Lots of sporting clubs and equipment were provided to excel in all games.
Faculty: Just like all IIT, a similar pattern is followed here. It is easier to pass but hard to get a decent grade. Faculties got their PHD degrees from top colleges around the world and are specialized in their subjects. All labs, classes, doubt classes and others were provided.

An Average IIT, don't keep much expectations.
Placements: By January 2024, 50 percent of the 2020 batch have secured placements. Mechanical Engineering graduates have opportunities in renowned companies such as General Aeronautics, Velankani Information, and Larsen and Turbo. In addition to core companies, there are also non-core options available for Mechanical professionals, including consultancy firms.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure as a whole is mediocre. The frequent landslides in this area often result in broken network cables, leading to Wi-Fi disconnections. The washing machines are typically in subpar condition. The food served in the mess is average. However, there are decent canteens offering fast food, lunch, dinner, and pizza.
Faculty: The teachers possess a wealth of knowledge, however, their level of assistance may be limited. It is essential to take responsibility for your own studies as relying solely on their support may not be sufficient. The mechanical course curriculum was challenging for our 2021 batch initially, but it has since been revised to be more manageable.
Other: I opted for this course due to my strong desire to gain admission into an IIT. Unfortunately, my rank only allowed me to pursue Mechanical Engineering here. Nonetheless, the courses offered are highly captivating.

IIT Mandi genuine review about all things.
Placements: By May 11, 2024, almost 80% of Computer Science students have been placed. The highest package offered this year was 7,400,000 yen, almost 40 Lacs per annum. The lowest package was 3.5 LPA. The average salary is nearby 9-10 LPA. Top recruiting companies are BNY Mellon, Samsung Delhi, Nucleus Software, MAQ Software, BPCL, C-Dot, etc. The roles offered were software development, management, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities offered include Wi-Fi in every academic and library, high-class labs for all domains, and fully digital classrooms. The libraries are outstanding with a comprehensive collection of books, and the infrastructure is excellent. The hostels are also new, with amenities such as study chairs, almirahs for each member in the room, a common fridge, electric iron, water cooler and purifier, and common study rooms on each floor.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. They are open-minded and always go beyond the curriculum to explore new things. The curriculum covers all domains like management, AI, Robotics, software development, and data science. The semester exams are relatively easy; just one day is enough to score above 50% of the students.
Other: I chose this course based on the recommendation of one of my seniors. The best things about the course are zero ragging, supportive seniors, and open-minded faculty members. The college has a strict 80% attendance policy, which prevents students from exploring courses on their own. All institute seminars are compulsory to attend, even if the topic is not relevant to you. This should be looked into. The annual and technical fests are Ranneeti, Exodia, Frosthack, etc. There are many student-run clubs like music, dance, programming, etc.

Extremely good college for exposure and serenity.
Placements: About more than 60% of the students are placed from my course. The highest package offered has been 80LPA internationally and average package has been 20 LPA. Companies coming for recruitments include Samsung, Honeywell, BNY Mellon and others. Around 70 to 80% of the students from my course have internships. The top role offered is that of a Software development engineer in our course.
Infrastructure: The facilities are top notch here. The rooms of the college being that of a new IIT are quite spacious and comfy along with being clean. There is unlimited Wi-Fi and the speed is good enough for day to day use. The Labs have advanced equipments imported along with other necessities for biomedical, electrical etc. The classrooms have ventilation and heaters installed along with projectors. The library has the latest books and magazines to read. The mess food quality is moderate. It is good on some occasions. The canteen offers a variety of food items. We have medical facilities too along with a sports complex which also includes a badminton court and a swimming pool.
Faculty: The professors are quite friendly and open to answering the questions. They are well versed in their subject matter and convey the concepts well. The curriculum is being updated for the coming batches and is being made more relevant to the current scenario. They do help in making students ready for the industry and research field. The exams are moderate to slightly difficult and the passing percentage is above 80%.
Other: I was interested in pursuing a Computer Science degree since programming interests me a lot. I think we could add more industry related technologies to the course content. The fests that happen here include a cultural fest called Exodia along with a technical fest called Xpecto. The surroundings of the campus have the most eye catching views that I have ever seen. Being among the nature really helps you focus your mind.

Absolutely below average as compared to other IITs. Too much restrictions here.
Placements: This year less than 40% of our CSE batch got paid interns via campus placement. The placement and intern percentage ratio went too low in these 1-2 years much below average as compared to other IITs. I came by seeing the placement ratio previously it was good but now it is worse.
Infrastructure: Overall the infra is good. Wi-Fi and Internet connectivity are very good throughout the campus. We have a good library fully air-conditioned and warm and neat and clean also. The classroom is also good. Labs are also good like others.
Faculty: Faculty here are friendly and most of them are good. The curriculum is also good. Exams are fine. You can pass the exams easily. But getting a good grade may require extra effort because here it is a relatively new grading system and the students are too competitive.
Other: Better to take lower branch in Tier 1 IITs.
