IITian and ISMite - a great college indeed.
Placements: The placements are decent in the college. If everyone is sincere from the beginning they are sure to bag a good placement. Also, specifically in petroleum, there are really good opportunities and almost all the big names of the industry visit the campus like Chevron, Cairn Oil and Gas, Indian Oil, Slb.
Infrastructure: The hostel life was great, but the hostel was not that much good. We have access to all the basics like LAN, Wi-Fi etc. But the rooms were not that great and not maintained well. The mess food was also average not that great, but the people of ISM were awesome.
Faculty: The teachers were really great and always helpful. They all are experts in their field, and some of them even provide suggestions to the industries. The course curriculum is very relevant and prepares you for the corporate life ahead. The exams are average still, it depends on the professors.
Other: The college is great and being an IIT, why not choose it? The branch that I chose offers immense opportunities when compared with others. The placement percentage of petroleum was even higher than CSE in our year. The fests are really great and something will keep on happening in college so you won't get bored anytime.

Good College in terms of opportunities .
Placements: Nearly 75% of students are placed. The highest package is about 50 LPA, whereas the lowest is about 6 LPA. The average package is around 15 to 16 LPA. 30% of students got internships. Most roles are software development internships, and some are financial management trainees.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good, and the infrastructure is quite historic, reminding us of the British era, as our college was started in 1926. Some hostels are quite old and amazing. Labs and classrooms are well-maintained. The college also provides BSNL Wi-Fi, which is good. I live in Aquamarine Hostel, which is good, but the mess food is not up to the mark.
Faculty: The curriculum is quite flexible and gives students lenience in selecting a limited number of courses. It gives students the opportunity to select their field of interest. This institute is academically strict and doesn't encourage any malpractices or attendance issues.
Other: I got into chemical engineering in this college because I got a rank of 11,500 in JEE Advanced and had some interest in pursuing it. The best thing is that the faculty is very supportive and encourages those who are interested in the field.

Absolutely I am satisfied because the NIRF ranking of my college.
Placements: Our course had an 81.31% placement rate. The average salary was INR 16.98 lacs, the highest salary was INR 56 lacs, and the median salary was INR 15 lacs in 2023. Top recruiting companies like Microsoft, Tata Metaliks, Tata Power, Tata Steel, American Express, Ram Group, Schlumberger, AMD, Deloitte, and Aditya Birla visited our campus for placements.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for our course is good. The library is cool and calm surroundings. The quality of food available in the mess is good, and the medical facilities are excellent. The sports and games facilities are extraordinary.
Faculty: The teachers of our course are very good. They are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is extraordinary. This course makes students industry-ready.

IIT (ISM) Dhanbad is good for mining and other top branches.
Placements: At IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, placements for civil engineering are quite low compared to other branches. But in the future, there may be more scope for placements in civil engineering. At present, only a few companies come to the college for final-year placements.
Infrastructure: ISM's infrastructure is very green and eco-friendly. Classrooms are very nice and neat. ISM has the biggest library, with three floors full of books. The labs are very well-equipped; you can gain a lot of practical experience. All sports and games are available.
Faculty: The professors have vast knowledge and teach in an understandable way. They are very interactive. The curriculum and exams are perfect for engineering students. Semester exams are quite difficult; scoring a high CGPA is challenging for some students, but not for all.

Absolutely satisfied with the college because of the really good environment and placements.
Placements: In the year 2023, due to the recession, placements were not as good as in previous years, but still, around 70 percent of students were placed. The highest package offered in 2023 was 2.1 crores, but it was off-campus. On campus, the highest package was 87 LPA, a PPO from Atlassian. Apart from PPOs, the highest package was 56 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, Amazon, ONGC, Barclays, Schlumberger, and Gail, etc. Around 300 students out of 1000 got internship offers on campus at companies like Google, Microsoft, Adobe, SLB, Tata Steel, British Petroleum, and Zepto, etc. Top roles offered were SDE, Product Manager, Mining Engineer, and AI/ML Engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of departments and some hostels is very good, but first-year hostels require a lot of improvement. Rooms are too small to accommodate two students; otherwise, all other hostels are good. The ISM library is one of the best in the country. All hostels and departments have Wi-Fi, and AC is going to be installed in all the classes soon. The biggest drawback is the mess food; you will get fed up eating the same food repeatedly. To compensate, many canteens and eateries are present on campus, and recently Domino's also opened. Giving 3 stars only due to mess food.
Faculty: The curriculum is the same as in other engineering colleges in India. Professors are highly qualified and knowledgeable, but only some can deliver the knowledge properly. Some teachers teach very well, but there are also professors you won't understand at all. The course curriculum is relevant, as almost all students with average grades get placed irrespective of their department. Semester exams are not so difficult; you can easily get decent grades. Less than 10 percent of students fail, and that's because they don't study at all.

Really Good Facilities in Hostel.
Placements: The placement opportunities at IIT are exceptional, with students securing positions in some of the world's leading companies. Around 80% of students successfully find placements, while the remaining 20% explore opportunities in startups and other ventures. In 2020, the highest package offered was INR 25 lacs, while the lowest package stood at 12 lacs. Renowned companies actively participate in the hiring process at IIT.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at this IIT is exceptional, boasting a sprawling 1200-acre campus. Each department has its own dedicated building, all of which are impressive in their own right. The hostel provides top-notch facilities, and the variety of food available in the mess and canteen is excellent.
Faculty: Teachers are truly remarkable individuals. Although I may not be aware of their qualifications, their teaching techniques are highly commendable. They have the ability to simplify complex questions and provide clear explanations. This course is designed to prepare students for the industry, making it highly relevant. If we put in the effort to study diligently, we can overcome the challenges posed by semester exams.
