It is the best government law college.
Placements: Our college does not provide any placements. Almost 60-65% of students got internships in legal firms under the advocacy of West Bengal and it increases every year by 2-3%. Internships are very useful to gather experience but there is no placement cell which is a drawback.
Infrastructure: There is no specific hostel in this college. However, there are places nearby where you can live on rent. The infrastructure of our college is better. A canteen, common game rooms, air-conditioned digital library, and reading room are available. Our college is very old so the infrastructure looks outdated.
Faculty: Teachers are very highly educated and their behavior is good. Everyone is very supportive and will help students every time. The best thing about this college is that all teachers take individual care and communicate with students personally. There are ten semesters in this course. Each semester has external and internal exams. The internal exam is for 20 marks and the external exam is for 80 marks.
Other: Events are organised in this college. Fests, social, Independence and Republic Day celebration, Saraswati Puja, freshers, farewell are conducted in this college. NCC and NSS are also held for students.

It is the best law college under Calcutta University.
Placements: The college does not provide placements. The internship programme was mandatary in the previous year. The college helps us to get internship opportunities in courts, which provides us with practical knowledge and at the end, we get an internship certificate, which helps us to get better job opportunities in future.
Infrastructure: It is one of the best law colleges under Calcutta University. The campus is not huge, but it is nice. The college fees structure is nominal. There is a well-equipped library with a reading room where students can sit and get hands-on information, and also one digital lab is available. Classrooms are huge and spacious. Hostel facility is not available, but it has a canteen, which serves delicious food.
Faculty: The best part of the college was its teachers. All the teachers are highly qualified and very helpful. We can approach them at any time, and they are ready to help us. Teachers provides notes, which is very helpful. They also provide us with proper guidance for our future.
Other: I chose this course because it is a 5-year integrated course. The college conducts guest lectures, which are very motivational. The college organises fest and picnic puja celebrations every year. The legal aid programme is also conducted every year, which helps students in all aspects.

It is one of the best colleges under Calcutta University with excellent faculty and infrastructure.
Placements: The college provides internship opportunities where interns are appointed, and a certificate is provided after completion of the internship. It is very helpful for students to get jobs. There is no placement cell in the college. Students are only offered unpaid internships.
Infrastructure: The college provides facilities like canteen, library, Wi-Fi, digital library, games room, and common rooms for girls. Classrooms are equipped with projector boards. Book bank facilities are available from where students can issue books. Quality of food served in the canteen is good. The college has a digital library which is very helpful for students.
Faculty: I'm pursuing a 5-year course in the college. Faculty members are excellent. Teachers are very helpful and highly qualified. Teachers are assigned according to their subjects in which they have completed masters. The teachers conduct regular classes. Students should have a minimum of 75% attendance to attend the examinations. Internal assessments are also held.
Other: The college organises moot court competitions regularly. Extracurricular activities and games facilities like table tennis, carrom, football, cricket, etc., are available in college. Fest and sports are held once a year.

A good college with trained and experienced faculty members and administration.
Placements: The college does not have a placement cell. However, students are trained to practice as an advocate in any court. It helps the students with internships in any reputed firm, company or under any practising lawyer. But if students want to get placed, they need to opt for off-campus recruitment. Currently, none of the law colleges under Calcutta University have a placement cell.
Infrastructure: The campus has two buildings. It has a library with lots of law books, study materials and journals. It also has a digital library and an auditorium. The college canteen provides food at reasonable prices. It has a separate union room. The canteen is situated at the rear end of the college. The college also plants trees and maintains a garden area that adds to the beauty of the college.
Faculty: The faculty members and administration are average. The college provides an integrated 5-year B.A LL.B course. The honours course is provided to meritorious students who are performing well in the semester exams. The batch of each year has a strength of 120 students. The college also provides an LLM degree to its students. The students have to qualify an entrance examination under Calcutta University to join this college.
Other: There is a fest or socials organised by the student union every year. Apart from that, it organises a number of cultural events, legal aid workshops, seminars, essay writing competitions, debates, a national level moot court competition, etc. The union members and the faculty together organise an educational excursion every year.

A good place to learn all about law.
Placements: The college does not offer any placement. Students have to sit for off campus placement on their own merit. In general Colleges under Calcutta for law does't offer placement. That's the only drawback studying under this University and college. Students have to do internship every semester to build a strong CV and learn all the practical aspects of law. Since the college timings are in the morning (6:30am to 11am), students can always do internship in the second half. They can visit courts.
Infrastructure: The college has two buildings. Classes are big and spacious. The library is well-equipped with all the latest books and is available all the time. Games room is upto the mark and so is the auditorium. The canteen is clean and hygienic and offers both Vegetarian and non vegetarian food.
Faculty: The faculty is friendly and the teachers ensure that we follow all our classes well. Attendance is pretty strict and bunking classes is a big no. Teachers provide us with all the notes and the lectures prove fruitful during the exams. The number of girls to boys ratio is 50:50 and each class has around 60 students.
Other: The anuual college socials is the biggest attraction. Moot court is conducted every year and debates are conducted every six months. There is active participation in all college events. Ambiance is nice and friendly. Students need to apply for scholarship if in need of financial help.

I m not sure it is completely dependent upon the seats that are left. Government colleges are the best. But I think you should not take a risk and go for Shyambazzar college.
