A good, reputed and cheap college to get a b. tech degree from.

Placements: Around 85% of students got placed in on-campus recruitment while many were able to secure a job in off campus placement. The top students are mostly recruited by psu like oil, nrl etc. Every year, the highest package is 9 lakhs per annum while the lowest is 3 lakhs per annum and the average package is 5 lakhs per annum. I just have to say that if you get a chance to join JEC, go for it.

Placements: In the mechanical branch, almost 40% of students got placed in campus placements. Oil, NLR, IOCL, APDCL, etc., companies come here every year and recruit many students. Many coaching centers, private companies and start-ups also came here. In CSE, almost 70% of students got placed in campus placements. TCS, Wipro, and many other companies come to JEC every year. The electrical and civil branches also have average placements, but in IE, the placements are not much good.

It has average teachers, good placements in 2018 and good infrastructure in the college and hostel.

Placements: Placements are high in computer science department compared to other branches. PSUs visit our college mostly for mechanical, electrical and instrumentation departments. However, I have seen various IT companies conduct mass recruitment here. The highest salary package offered for jobs is 18 LPA. The lowest salary package offered ranges from 3 LPA. Students could expect an average salary package of around 5 LPA-7 LPA in companies excluding mass recruiters which offer less salary packages. Some of...

One of the best state engineering colleges in Assam.

Placements: Mostly CSE get good placements. But placements are good compared to other colleges in the state. Top PSUs also come for placements as well. Good place to start your career as its old and reputed college so there are lot of alumni as well for further help and growth.

Placements: In our batch around 15 students are placed among 90. The highest package is about 10 CTC, the lowest is 5 CTC and average is 7 CTC. The top recruiter is None other than OIL India ( PSU) and it recruited 6 students from our batch. Another company to mention here is ITC.

Review of Jorhat Engineering College.

Placements: When you think about a government college, you might not think about placements. But it's not true. Half of the students in our branch got placed already. Students got placed in companies like TCS, Wipro, ONGC, etc. The placement cell of Jorhat Engineering College is a central hub for other colleges for placements.

Average in the sense that basically a student can get its degree at a minimum cost.

Placements: More than 100 students are enrolled in this course. Among them, only 30-40 are generally placed. But the average package is 3-4 Lacs. PSUs and small companies from various cities visit our college. Students can get their internships in different IITs and also in different PSUs.

Jorhat Engineering College is a good college if you work very hard.

Placements: Placements in our college are not that good. Very few companies visit the college for placements. Overall 5-7 companies visit the campus for recruiting more than 400 students. Almost 2-3 companies set high eligibility criteria for placements. If you are a mechanical engineer, then you have to be in the top 10 in class to get recruited by OIL, ITC, etc. These facts are from 2017. So if the situations have changed, now then it's good.

Experience was alright because course fee was very less during my time.

Placements: Not very satisfactory. About 15-20% students of my batch got placed at the college campus. Some got placed in good PSU's but most of them are placed in IT companies. The average salary offered was about 30,000 rs per month. The highest salary offered was about Rs 1,00,000 per month.

For CSE, it is good, and for others, it's ranged between average to above average.

Placements: Placements in our college are average. Top 15-20 students from each branch can clear it. The salary offered ranges from Rs. 15,000-30,000 per month depending upon the performance of the candidate. Training and placement cell always give their best for conducting placement drives not only on the campus but also the pool campus.

Review of Jorhat Engineering College.

Placements: The number of students placed here is good. Training and placement cell is doing a great job and inviting companies for placements. The number of students being placed every year is good enough. Companies and PSUs related placements are high. T&P cell is well-equipped with excellent infrastructure to support every stage of the placements.

Placements: Placements in our college are average. About 10 out of 100 students get placed. Salary packages offered depend on the company. The highest salary is offered in the PSU sector. PSU and other private companies visited the campus. There is a placement cell in our college, and it is useful.

Review of Jorhat Engineering College.

Placements: The placements in recent years have been a bit better compared to our batch. Placements in core companies are less, but IT and other managerial jobs can be found here. For mechanical engineering, placements are still available compared to other branches like civil, etc. But overall the placements have decreased compared to older batches like that of 2010.

Placements and faculty members are good, and the infrastructure is decent.

Placements: Over a couple of years, there has been a great improvement in the placement activities in JEC. Along with private companies, many PSUs have conducted placement drives in JEC. The recent recruiters are OIL, NRL, Wipro, Vedanta PVT. LTD., TCS, Dabur etc. Most of the students eligible for placement drives have been placed successfully in several reputed companies. Companies do provide handsome packages to the students.

Good Infrastructure and Faculty, Below Average Placements.

Placements: The placement in our batch was not that good. Though companies like OIL, BPCL, TechMahindra, TCS, Dabur, Dalmia, etc. Visited the campus for recruitment, they only had a few positions to offer to students of my branch. Out of 78 students in my class, only 4 were offered jobs by the visiting companies.

Placements: Placements for our senior batch are around 60% which is neither too good nor too bad. Students have been placed in companies like TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Human Resocia (Japan-based company) etc. The highest salary package offered is approximately 17.5 LPA. There is a training and placement cell which look after all the placement activities. Internships are not directly provided through the college. Students have to contact the companies on their own for any kind of internships.

It has great potential, but it needs improvement in terms of infrastructure.

Placements: This year, the CSE department of JEC has witnessed unprecedented progress in terms of placements. For the first time ever, two students from the 3rd year have been placed in a Japanese company named Human Recosia. More than 60% of the students from the final year have been placed in renowned IT companies like Infosys, TCS, Zaloni etc. Moreover, the department has a significant number of budding entrepreneurs.
