Q:   How effective is the placement cell for B.Sc. courses at Kishinchand Chellaram College?

    A:
    {Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Here's an attempt to summarize the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.Sc. courses at Kishinchand Chellaram College:

    Placement Cell Effectiveness:

    * Limited Placement Opportunities: Most students did not get direct placements through the college's placement cell, with only 10 students out of 28 getting internships at ATTREC. (Source: Student reviews)
    * Lack of Top Recruiters: Although some top recruiters like Wipro visited the campus, no students from the B.Sc. course got placed. (Source: Student reviews)

Overall, the placement cell appears to have limited opportunities for B.Sc. students, resulting in a lack of successful placements. While the college may make efforts to invite top recruiters, the outcome does not seem promising for students pursuing B.Sc. degrees.

Note: This summary is based exclusively on the provided student reviews and feedback, without referencing external sources or making assumptions.

Review of my B.Sc. course from KC college.
Placements: In our college, 50–60% of students get campus placements every year. The college placements cell works hard for placements and internships. The top recruiting companies are Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Udia, etc. The average package was 3-5 lpa, and the highest package was 8 lpa.
Infrastructure: The college has a very well-maintained infrastructure. There are necessary facilities available in the college, including library, medical facilities, sports facilities, labs, halls, etc. The computer labs at the college are properly equipped. There is Wi-Fi connectivity on the campus. There are sports facilities for both outdoor and indoor games. The food in the college canteen is good at low prices.
Faculty: All the teachers in our institutions are qualified and knowledgeable. Teachers work hard for students futures. All the teachers are very supportive and friendly. Teachers used to focus on skill development. Teachers used to guide us in all situations. The exams are on a yearly basis.

    Very supportive teaching staff.
Placements: About 60% of the whole batch got placed. The highest package offer was 7.5 LPA average would be something around 4-5.5 LPA. Various internships were provided during the course. Companies like Wipro, eCW and Deloitte had picked students from our college.
Infrastructure: The labs and library are fantastic of the campus. Environment and surroundings is pretty peaceful at the campus and the facilities provided by the college is will help students. Students can easily come to college as the location of the campus provides various transportation facilites.
Faculty: The teaching quality of the teachers is on another level, very interactive as well supportive. The course curriculum would not be industry ready but students can easily face the challenges as freshers. The semester exams are quite easy and also high scoring the main advantage would be that the students can easily score marks by presentations.
Other: This course will help the students to gain the basic to advance knowledge of an IT field which would help students to get a job in their perspective companies.

    KC college review in short.
Placements: KC College's biotechnology programme disappoints in placements due to limited scope and below-average salaries. They must enhance industry collaboration and offer training. Students should consider this before enrolling themselves and making wise decisions.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is also below average and they don't have well-equipped labs lacking a few devices. The library is also under construction and there are no such hostel facilities for out-of-state kids who come to study here. So, it is tough for them.
Faculty: The teachers are quite knowledgeable but they lack in time management and completing your syllabus They might have lectures just a day before your exams the course curriculum is relevant semester exams are quite easy if you study. If you study, the passing percentage is around 40%.
Other: The course is really helpful if you're actually interested in it. The events in college are very lively and they are the best in the college and very enjoyable.

It is the best college in South Mumbai, with all the facilities and the best faculty.
Placements: About 80% of students got placed from my batch, and it was about 90% earlier. The package that the students get after passing out from Kishinchand Chelleram College varies from 2 to 4.5 LPA. The topmost recruiting companies are Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini and TCS. Around 80% of students got internships in Infosys and Capgemini. The top role offered to students is software testing.
Infrastructure: It has the best facilities for studying B.Sc. IT with good infrastructure and also has the best practical kits. The quality of food in the college canteen is not as famous as the roadside vendors have. It also has good medical facilities and also precautions if any fire accident takes place. It also has a big basement where students can play outdoor games, and an indoor sports room is available.
Faculty: The best part of the college is that it has the best qualified and supportive teachers. In this modern generation, the world is moving toward technology, and this course provides students with technical as well as practical knowledge which makes them ready for the industry. The pass percentage is 97%.
Other: As I had a keen interest in operating computers, I knew that this course would definitely help me in my career. The improvement of the course is it should have more practical sessions which makes students more knowledgeable. The college conducts a fest named Kiran, which is very popular and lasts for 5-7 days and well-known personalities visit this event and make them memorable.

Faculty members and course curriculum are great here. Placements are getting better.
Placements: About 75% of students get placement each year based on their performances. The highest salary package offered in 2020 was 12 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 1.8 LPA. Top recruiting companies like TCS, Wipro, HCL, Deloitte, LTI, Capgemini, etc., visit the college for placements. About 25-30% of students from our course got an internship, especially through Internshala. Top roles like database administrator, tester, computer support specialist, etc., are offered in our course.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is above average, and it is under construction at the moment. There is no campus, but the building itself has facilities. Classrooms have air-conditioners and projectors. Each floor has proper washrooms, filters, a fully functional canteen, library, IT labs, and a lift. The food served here is good, and there is a lot of options if you are picky.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful and knowledgeable. A few of them might not be that great with reaching to every mind in the class, but most of them do a great job. The course curriculum is relevant. I am not sure about the pass percentage, but the exams are bearable if you study for them.
Other: A lot of events are held by the B.Sc IT departments, so it is pretty fun.

Dissatisfactory faculties, no placements offered, moderate infrastructure, events, fests and crowds.
Placements: Only 30 students are in the biotechnology course. Till now, no one has gotten the package for the course. The faculty members are young and not so experienced. The college offers various opportunities to showcase your talents and qualities in co-curricular activities, events and fests.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel for students. It is very problematic and hectic for outstation students. The absence of hostels results in very expensive living conditions for students. The infrastructure is not at all good. It's a very old building, but renovation has started now, in 2024. The labs have equipment, necessary instruments and chemicals, but the management does not allow students to perform individually. The stock for the requirements is not up to par.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and qualified but a little aggressive. The teaching quality is good, but one has to know good English for the same. The course curriculum is relevant and makes the students industry-ready. From 2023 on, the new education policy (NEP) has started, which has reduced the burden on the students and helped them gain more practical knowledge. The semester exams are moderately difficult. The passing percentage is 55–60%.
Other: I chose the course because I appeared for NEET but didn't get selected for it. I also had an interest in biotechnology. This course provides you with practical knowledge. The improvement that should be made in the course is regarding practical performance and time management. Events, or fests, occur regularly. The campus crowd is also nice, and the surroundings have famous tourist places in South Bombay.
