Review of Kishinchand Chellaram College.
Placements: I don't have any idea about the salary package offered to students. Almost 50% of the students in our course got placed. KC College doesn't provide any internship or placements at graduation level. However, post-graduation may have it, but I'm not aware of it. The college offers courses like B.Sc biotech, masters in journalism, B.Sc. microbiology, many accounts and business courses.
Infrastructure: KC is one of the best colleges in South Bombay. I'm in B.Sc., and I am disappointed as rooms are not available. There are unclean washrooms and unrepair instruments. However, labs infrastructure is very good and well-maintained, but most of the instruments are not working properly. Classrooms are very nice and huge. KC provides all medical and hostel facilities.
Faculty: Faculty members of our college are very formal and strict, but they are also supportive and student-friendly. All the teachers are well-qualified and solved our doubts in the class. They even made theory subjects easy as they explained it in such a way that we need not mug up anything as we cover every concept.
Other: I have chosen this course as biotechnology provides you with the combo information about the biology and technology world.

I am satisfied, and the college has good placements.
Placements: Companies such as Pharmaceutical, Drug Modification, Nanotechnology and many more visit the campus. Students can be sent to Biocon, Forensic institute, Biotechnology companies and in space centres, etc. The average salary is not known but maybe Rs. 30,000 per month. Students also work in pathology labs.
Infrastructure: The course is good, knowledgeable and interesting, and also has advanced knowledge. The infrastructure is slightly poor, and it needs to be more developed Classrooms are less, and courses are more. The library is good enough with sufficient and interesting books.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified, trained, enthusiastic and teach well. The course curriculum should be slight easy, and it is difficult to understand. But it has given advance knowledge. Moreover, the students are well ready for their jobs as it provides a platform to do better.
Other: I have chosen this course because it is interesting and has further good research.

KC college review in short.
Placements: KC College's biotechnology programme disappoints in placements due to limited scope and below-average salaries. They must enhance industry collaboration and offer training. Students should consider this before enrolling themselves and making wise decisions.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is also below average and they don't have well-equipped labs lacking a few devices. The library is also under construction and there are no such hostel facilities for out-of-state kids who come to study here. So, it is tough for them.
Faculty: The teachers are quite knowledgeable but they lack in time management and completing your syllabus They might have lectures just a day before your exams the course curriculum is relevant semester exams are quite easy if you study. If you study, the passing percentage is around 40%.
Other: The course is really helpful if you're actually interested in it. The events in college are very lively and they are the best in the college and very enjoyable.

There are good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: About 70% of the students got placements from our course. The lowest salary offered here was Rs. 20,000 per month, and the highest salary offered was Rs. 40,000 per month. Top companies visited our college for placements. Top roles offered here are professor, data interpreter, researcher, etc. The highest salary offered in our course is around Rs. 30,000 per month. About 10% of the students got internships from our course in companies like Biocon, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility, air-conditioners, laboratory, classrooms, library, canteen, sports room, etc., are the facilities available for our course. Hostels are not available, and the quality of the food served in the canteen is average. However, the variety of food items available in the canteen is better. Sports and games are also average but interesting.
Faculty: Teachers here were really helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. They were approachable also, and their teaching quality was average and well understandable. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready by building the necessary soft skills along with other technical and curriculum knowledge.
Other: I chose this course because it is more related to help the environment and know how to overcome certain diseases. Funds should be available, and awareness should be made about the course.

Dissatisfactory faculties, no placements offered, moderate infrastructure, events, fests and crowds.
Placements: Only 30 students are in the biotechnology course. Till now, no one has gotten the package for the course. The faculty members are young and not so experienced. The college offers various opportunities to showcase your talents and qualities in co-curricular activities, events and fests.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel for students. It is very problematic and hectic for outstation students. The absence of hostels results in very expensive living conditions for students. The infrastructure is not at all good. It's a very old building, but renovation has started now, in 2024. The labs have equipment, necessary instruments and chemicals, but the management does not allow students to perform individually. The stock for the requirements is not up to par.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and qualified but a little aggressive. The teaching quality is good, but one has to know good English for the same. The course curriculum is relevant and makes the students industry-ready. From 2023 on, the new education policy (NEP) has started, which has reduced the burden on the students and helped them gain more practical knowledge. The semester exams are moderately difficult. The passing percentage is 55–60%.
Other: I chose the course because I appeared for NEET but didn't get selected for it. I also had an interest in biotechnology. This course provides you with practical knowledge. The improvement that should be made in the course is regarding practical performance and time management. Events, or fests, occur regularly. The campus crowd is also nice, and the surroundings have famous tourist places in South Bombay.

Q:   What is the latest cutoff information for admission to M.Sc at KC College, Mumbai?

A:

The official cut-off information for M.Sc. admissions at KC College, Mumbai for the 2024-2025 academic year isn't available yet. The college typically releases the cut-offs after the application process closes and the merit list is prepared.

Here's why the cut-offs aren't available yet:

  • Application Process: The application window for M.Sc. programs might still be open. Releasing cut-offs during this period can discourage applications from potentially qualified candidates.
  • Merit List Preparation: Once applications close, the college considers factors like entrance exam scores, past academic performance, and reservations to create a merit list. The cut-offs are then determined based on the ranks/scores in this list.

Here are some resources to help you stay updated on the cut-offs:

  • KC College Website: The official KC College website, particularly the admissions or M.Sc. programme section, is the most reliable source for the latest cut-off information. They might announce the cut-offs and the merit list there.
  • Contact the College: You can directly reach out to the KC College admissions office or the department offering your desired M.Sc. program. They can provide you with an estimated timeline for releasing the cut-offs.

Alternative Resources (to estimate potential cut-offs):

  • Previous Year's Cut-offs: While not a guarantee, some educational portals might list previous years' cut-offs for M.Sc. programs at KC College. This can give you a rough idea of the range.
  • Course Popularity: Consider the popularity of your chosen M.Sc. programme at KC College. More competitive programs might have higher cut-offs compared to less sought-after ones.

Remember: These are just resources for estimation. The actual cut-offs for the upcoming academic year will depend on the applicant pool's qualifications.

Stay informed by checking the KC College website or contacting them directly for the latest and most accurate cut-off information.
