Q:   Question: How is the course curriculum for B.E. / B.Tech at MGIT?

    A:
    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

    MGIT's B.E./B.Tech Course Curriculum

Based on the reviews and feedback from current and former students, here's an overview of the course curriculum at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT):

    * Teaching Quality: Faculty members are generally well-qualified and knowledgeable, with many having PhDs and master's degrees in their respective fields.
    * Course Relevance: While some students feel that the course curriculum is relevant to the industry, others believe that it may not fully prepare them for the workforce.
    * Industry Exposure: Limited opportunities for industrial visits and project-based learning are mentioned by several students.
    * Practical Knowledge: Many students appreciate the emphasis on hands-on learning and experimentation in the laboratory settings.
    * Syllabus Coverage: The course covers all the required topics, but some students feel that the focus lies more on theoretical foundations rather than practical application.
    * Update: Some students recommend updating the course curriculum to reflect recent technological advancements and trends in the field.

Here are some specific comments about individual courses:

    Mechanical Engineering:
+ Covers both software and hardware aspects, allowing for flexibility in career choices.
+ Emphasizes practical problem-solving and experimentation.

    Computer Science and Engineering (CSE):
+ Offers a mix of theoretical and practical coursework.
+ Provides opportunities for internships and placements in leading tech companies.

    Electrical Engineering:
+ Prepares students for both public and private sector careers.
+ Includes project-based learning and experimental components.

Keep in mind that individual experiences and opinions may vary depending on personal preferences, interests, and strengths. It's essential to consider multiple perspectives before making an informed decision about pursuing a course at MANIT.

    * According to students' reviews, the placement cell at MGIT is successful in securing jobs for B.E./B.Tech students, particularly in the IT and CSE branches.
    * Around 30-40% of final-year students get placed in various companies that visit the campus (Source: Student Review).
    * Companies like TCS and Wipro regularly recruit students from MGIT (Source: Student Review).

MGIT, the college you should know.
Placements: There are no better placements in the college. They provide normal placements between 4 to 5 Lacs package per year. Only 5% or 6% of people are getting placed. No better placements are provided by the college management of MGIT to the students.
Infrastructure: The faculty is very good, but there should be better infrastructure than at present. As per the hostel, the food is better than outside hostels, but in the college, the infrastructure should be modified. Better systems should be provided to them. There is no Wi-Fi facility for the students.
Faculty: As we talk about the exams, there are more exams conducted by them. This system should be changed. Due to this system, the students may get stressed, and no knowledge is stored by the students. They don't have much practical knowledge due to exam pressure. According to the semester, a maximum of 90 percent will be passed.
Other: There are fests in this college. The fests are very considerable, and there is a huge crowd during the fests held at the college.

Placements: Minimum 80% of students in metallurgy branch were placed every year and the average package offered by the company to the students in metallurgy branch was 5 LPA. The companies that come for placements are DRDL, DMRL&MIDHANI etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is pretty good and well maintained. There are many facilities for the students to study out of the classroom like library computer labs etc. There are good condition computers provided in the computer labs and pretty good speed of Wi-Fi provided by the college in the labs. The hostel of the college is located 1.5km away from the college and the food in the hostel is very good and tasty.
Faculty: The teachers are very friendly and close to the students. They interact with the students and are all well-educated teachers who completed their M. Tech in IITs. There are two MIDS for each semester and the level of hardness of semester exams are pretty high level and almost 80% of students will pass the exams.
Other: The metallurgy course was one of the best B. Tech course branch. Among all the courses this is the most demanded course nowadays and the faculty of this branch are very friendly and very encouraging and take care of the student's academics. There are good number of fests that are conducted in the college like freshers, technical events, nirvana etc. There are lots of trees and plants surrounded by the college and also inside of the college.

Faculty: The teaching qualities of the teachers are good and they are knowledgeable. The curriculum is full of labs, and it makes students more ready for the industry. It is a little bit difficult, but the pass percentage is 89.8%. Teachers are like our family in M.G.IT college because of their friendly manner.

Pros and cons of MGIT college.
Placements: Placements are better when compared to other colleges since it is one of the top colleges. The average package is 4 to 5 lacs per annum. And the highest package may go up to 15 to 20 LPA. TCS is one of our top recruiters. Students with CGPAs more than 8 will be given priority.
Infrastructure: College consists of 4 blocks, 2 stationeries, a canteen, a juice center, and a tea stall. The canteen consists of snacks, breakfast, and lunch items. A medical room is available for basic treatment and medicine. Every lab is well-equipped and has a Wi-Fi connection.
Faculty: Faculty is nothing less than top class. They have PhDs/postgraduate degrees. They help us clear our doubts and encourage us to try different things. The syllabus is covered according to the JNTUH instructions. The sem exam can be between moderate to tough. Pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I am interested in becoming a software engineer, so I chose this course. Here I get to learn new languages, which will help me develop. The computers are not that fast, which will test your patience.

Faculty shortage, average placements but overall experience was good.
Placements: I chose CSE with AI and ML as specializations. Almost 30% of students got placed this year. The highest package was from Providence at 11 LPA, the lowest package was from Deloitte at 3.25 LPA and the average package is around 4.5 LPA. Cognizant and Deloitte are the top recruiters for our course. The top role offered is SDE intern.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is provided in library and the department has two well-equipped labs. The hostel is 2 km away from the college, and the food is not that good. The sports room is available after 3 p.m. every day and has indoor games. The college has a medical room with beds and emergency medicine.
Faculty: There is a shortage of faculty for this new specialisation course as there are new core subjects in the 3rd and 4th years. Even though the college got autonomous status, it is still following the old curriculum, which is not according to industry standards. Exams are moderately difficult if you attend at least 50% of classes and study before exams.
