Q:   How does the placement cell for B.Sc. at Maulana Azad College assist students in getting placed?

    A:
    {Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Placement Cell for B.Sc. at Maulana Azad College

Unfortunately, Maulana Azad College does not have a dedicated placement cell for its undergraduate programs, including B.Sc. According to the reviews, students are expected to take initiative themselves to find job opportunities through walk-in interviews and pool camps.

    * No formal placement assistance: The college does not provide any placement services to its students, leaving them to fend for themselves.
    * Self-effort required: Students need to put in effort to find job opportunities, including attending walk-in interviews and pool camps.
    * Limited success stories: While some students from the college's previous batches did manage to secure jobs, mostly with lower salaries, none of these instances involved direct placement assistance from the college.

It is essential for students who wish to pursue a career after completing their B.Sc. to develop skills, build networks, and take proactive steps towards securing employment.

Maulana Azad College - A Proper Complete Institution with Very Good Infrastructure
Placements: 20% of our batch has been placed in our course. I don't have exact details about the packages. Three students from our batch of 26 got selected in IITs: one in IIT Bombay, one in Madras, and the other in Kharagpur. One student has secured an internship in KGP.
Infrastructure: In our Mathematics department, we have a laboratory with approximately 25 computers. The department has three classrooms for the three years of students and one staff room for professors. While our department does not have a dedicated library, there is a Central Library on the 2nd floor of our college with a wide range of books. I am not familiar with the hostels and canteens.
Faculty: Our professors are very helpful and highly qualified, as all of them hold Doctorates. The course is relevant, with subjects like C programming language and Sagemath in the DSE paper being very useful for our future careers. The semester exams are a bit challenging in this college.
Other: I chose B.Sc. Honours in Mathematics because I love Mathematics. The best aspect of this course is that you have to understand the concepts deeply rather than just superficially. I’ve learned that it’s one of the best colleges under Calcutta University. The only improvement needed is to increase the time gap between the semesters.

Review for Maulana Azad college .
Placements: About 70 percent of students will get placed. In my course, many of them go abroad for research. The highest and lowest packages of my course are 3 LPA to 20 LPA. Every company needs statistics, so for almost every company, you have a chance. Data scientist, statistician, data analyst, and risk analyst are the top positions in my course.
Infrastructure: The department is so small, and the students are limited. But we have all the facilities, like Wi-Fi, water, and AC. The college has its own hostel and the canteen is not so good. And the hostel is only for Muslim candidates. We have medical facilities like first aid, but there is no field for playing sports.
Faculty: The teachers are highly educated and helpful. They teach us very well. They believe in quality, not quantity. Yes, this course's curriculum is relevant and the course is future-proof; in the near future, it'll have great opportunities. It's making us future-ready. The difficult level is hard. The pass percentage is 70 percent.
Other: If you like mathematics, than it's only mathematics with data science. You become a data analyst and a data scientist. It's a valuable subject. Skill-type classes are needed. We have all the basic events, but they are not very big. The campus is relaxing. If you have a poor financial background, then you can get a Swami Vivekananda scholarship. Extracurricular activities are there.

I'm absolutely satisfied with this college as the feel is so nominal.
Placements: No placements are there in the college. In terms of placement, my college was nothing. Actually at Calcutta University at any college, there is no placement committee. To get direct placement students do a Master's at least otherwise there is no chance.
Infrastructure: The classroom and library were amazing, The Hostel was also good but that was only for minorities so I didn't get a chance to stay in the college hostel. But I heard the price is very low. There a badminton, table tennis and carram playing options. Yes, the Gym facilities are close to the college. The college canteen was good but most of the time the canteen was off. I don't know why.
Faculty: The college is under Calcutta University. So semester exam was tough undoubtedly but yes I enjoyed it. 33% were passing marks in this university. College teachers are helpful specifically the HOD sir. Teachers are very polite also as we need as a student.
Other: The college environment was as good as possible. Anyone can join without so much thinking.

Absolutely satisfied with the quality of education.
Placements: No such placement as it is made solely for B.Sc. and M.Sc. Very good for higher dedication. No such roles. As no placement no hig or low salary package. No such recruiting companies. If you want a jod should find it on your own. It is very good place for dedication.
Infrastructure: Hostel should improve. More students should be given hostel facility. Infrastructure should improve. Mess facility should improve. Clenliness should be taken care of. But no such restrictions regarding timing. It os fully funded by government. Feels very low.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and highly qualified. Very good for higher education. One of the best college in Kolkata. Cirriculam is very well structured. Being one of the best college under calacutta t offers brilliant dedication and very well developed syllabus.
Other: B.Sc. Hons in Zoology. Infrastructure ahould improve. Pace and good for studies.

    Maulana Azad College, Kolkata Review.
Placements: 0 placements happen via college. So no scenario for packages or company names. Internships, you have to get on your own merit from outside referrals. You can get research internships from main campus but again on your own merit and connections. Overall, don't expect jobs.
Infrastructure: Now, infrastructure is excellent in some aspects, huge halls, great classrooms (most of them), great botany around colleges. Library is full AC, I spent most of my time there but books available are very less and wi-fi is unavailable. Hostel quality is horrible, only mosquitoes live in the hostel.
Faculty: Except professor Shantanu Ghosh, everyone there is either waiting for retirement or vacation. You will gain zero knowledge from others but never miss SG sir's classes, those are really good. He is a very decorated professor. The teaching quality overall is far below average.
Other: Value for money is 100 percent because fees is comparatively pretty less but campus life is made horrible by union goons. In the union rooms you will find students as old as your grand father, who are studying there since independence. No events except few webinars and economics excursion. I chose this course because I couldn't get anything better option. There is a lot to improve, give professors incentives to teach or they will never take classes. Extracurricular activities are average and there is a football team.

It's a good college for average students.
Placements: The placement was normal, and the students were placed with an average package of 3 to 4 lacs. The college was also helpful during placements, and the placement cell improved their connection to provide the best placement. The highest package of a student is 10 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college was good and maintained the neat and clean environment. The college provides a big library and classrooms and also a canteen for students. Wi-Fi is there and has proper seating capacity. The labs are very much hi-tech and provide very good facilities to the students.
Faculty: The faculty-to-student ratio is 7:12 in 2nd-year economics. Our economics professors are exceptionally talented and knowledgeable, always motivating students to excel. Their passion for teaching and dedication to student success inspire a love for the subject. They motivate us to excel in our careers.
