Excellent faculty, good placements, and an ideal for botany aspirants.
Placements: Around 60% of students from my batch are placed in various companies. The highest salary package offered by Biocon is 6.5 LPA. The average salary package offered is 4.5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Maulana Azad College, Kolkata, provides excellent facilities and infrastructure for its students. For the Botany department, the facilities include well-equipped laboratories with modern instruments and equipment. Classrooms are spacious with smartboards and Wi-Fi connectivity. There is a vast library with a wide collection of books, journals, and e-resources. We also have a botanical garden for practical studies and research.Hostel facilities are available including clean and spacious rooms with attached bathrooms. There is a hygienic mess and canteen facilities with a variety of food options. Medical facilities are available, with a college hospital and a tie-up with nearby hospitals. There are sports and games facilities, including a playground, gymnasium, and indoor games room.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable and helpful. Their teaching quality is excellent. Curriculum is relevant and industry-oriented. Semester exams are moderately difficult. Pass percentage is around 89-90%. Overall, a well-rounded Botany course prepares students for careers and higher studies.
Other: I chose Botany because of my fascination with plants and their importance in our ecosystem. I wanted to explore the intricacies of plant biology and contribute to the field of botanical research. The best things about my course are the hands-on experience in laboratories, the opportunity to work on research projects, and the expertise of the faculty members. Scope for Improvement: I wish there were more industrial collaborations and internship opportunities to provide students with practical experience in the field. Additionally, updating the curriculum to include recent advancements in plant biotechnology and genomics would enhance the course.

Infrastructure was little bit good, as the college was present at the centre of Kolkata.
Placements: I just enjoy my college life like other common students. My faculty members and my friends were very good and helpful. They were always supported me in my every harsh situations that I faced in my college life. As I mentioned, my course was B.Sc. Botany, every year from our department, an excursion was held but due to pandemic it was not done. Placements were little bit good because many students at our college got very good jobs in both government and non-government organisation.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was little bit good, because the building of our college was old but aesthetic. It was an Islamic college so, a mosque was present inside our college which was very helpful to Muslim students. Our college had hostels for both men and female students but there was no food supply inside the hostel.
Faculty: Faculty members were very good and helpful. They show their kindness to all of us. Exams were held in semester system as per the guidance of UGC. Every year 2 semester exams were held. Exams were held in two series- theories and practicals. There was only 6 numbers semesters which students have to clear in 3 years. No online courses were conducted by our college. As it was a government college, seats of courses were also very minimum like 20-40 (it varies as per the course you choose for you higher study).

I think it is the best college for general study.
Placements: 70% of students got placed in my course. Many recruiting companies come for our course. About 60% of students in our college got internships from our course in reputed companies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, laboratories, classrooms and library are available. There are 2 fields in our college, and all the students can play there. You can play cricket, football, hockey, tennis and others games.
Faculty: The teachers in our college are very helpful, and they help us with every problem. Every teacher is highly qualified, and their teaching technique is very good. There are 3 semester exams, and about 97% is the pass percentage.

If you are looking for a college and not have high hopes about placements.
Placements: No placements. Our college does not provide placements. It does not have good infrastructure. Most of the students opt for placements outside the college in companies like PWC and TCS. To sum up good for education. Not too good for placements. My advice. Don't join the college. Placements and education is much better outside Kolkata.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are quite spacious. Equipped with chalk and duster. They have microphones and speakers too in the classrooms. There is a hall for functions such as fresher and fest. Students' activity rooms are equipped with TT boards and carrom tables. Most of the students hang out here. There are many labs. Especially for each department.
Faculty: The course curriculum is outstanding. It follows the Calcutta University syllabus. The faculty members are very knowledgeable and helpful. They also provide their mail Ids so you can catch up with them later on and clear your doubts. Tests taken by the faculty members are always scrutinized thoroughly.

5 rating for placements. faculty and facilities very good.
Placements: There are no placements for B.Sc. students, but for M.Sc. There are same placements. There is a placements cell on the campus. The companies which visited the campus for placements offer and average salary to students. There are barely any companies coming to provide the placements.
Infrastructure: The library of this college is very efficient and has all the book any student would require during their course of study. All the departments are very efficient towards any contests programs held at the other colleges, i.e., they provide full support to the student for any competition or sports.
Faculty: Regarding the teacher, this college has been quite good. They are really helpful if you seek help. The teaching methods are the same as in most colleges. A whiteboard and the markers with good verbal exposure from the teacher is all a student requires.
Other: This college supports every student to participate in different type of fests and events.

Pros:

* Excellent professors with high qualifications and knowledge
* Good teaching quality, although some students may need to put in extra effort
* Relevant curriculum, especially for those interested in accounting, finance, and business-related fields
* Scholarships available for deserving students
* Affordable tuition fees
* Well-managed hostels with decent facilities
* Opportunities for extracurricular activities, such as festivals, sports, and cultural events

Cons:

* Limited placement opportunities, with most students having to secure jobs on their own
* No placement cells or internship programs within the college

While Maulana Azad College offers a solid foundation in commerce, it falls short in terms of placement opportunities and practical exposure. However, students who are willing to put in extra effort and seek external opportunities may find success.
