Q:   What is the BA Hons (English) cut-off for Miranda House?

    A:

There is no cutoff released for BA Enlish (Hons) courses started 2022. For BA (Hons) in 2021, however, the lowest cutoff released stood at 99 per cent and the admissions closed right after the first round of cutoff released for General category candidates. For other reserved categories, the percentage requirement was comparatively low. While the admission process has completely changed for DU UG admissions starting in 2022 and for the academic year 2023, the competitiveness and quality of students selected for admissions have not changed. Everything is good about this college if you utilize the resources properly.
Placements: Out of all the courses, BAP students get the least placements compared to their size. I personally believe that my course students do get good value placements out of all BAP students. Most of the Marketing and consultant roles were given to these courses.
Infrastructure: I loved the infrastructure of the college. We get space in and around the college. The area where it's built is also very spacious and not like most of the other parts of Delhi. All the comfort and space you get from the college. No one cares about others, so I felt very comfortable in college.
Faculty: Though my 1 and a half years of college were completed online, as far as my experience is concerned, very few lecturers put all their efforts into completing the syllabus. Most of the lecturers are mostly into working on getting the college NIRF Rank 1. But the other few lecturers who teach on a regular basis are very knowledgeable. Most of the syllabus is related to UPSC if someone wants to go into that later.

Advanced infrastructure with good placements, crowd exposure, and affordable hostel.
Placements: Nearly 130 jobs were offered to the students in this course. The highest package was 15.5 LPA and the lowest package was 5 LPA. The average was 7 LPA. The top recruiters were Deloitte, Zee Media, PWC, etc. In addition to it, the highest internship stipend was 50,000.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Miranda House is one of the best. Both, the college and hostel have Wi-Fi, medical facilities, and cleanliness. The canteen and mess provide tasty and affordable meals. The college encourages sports as well as NCC cadets a lot. Most of the classrooms have ACs. Labs are well-equipped with all the needed facilities. The college gives great exposure to the students. The library is full with a diverse variety of books. Miranda House has become the first college to have an NCC section where we can get books related to the nation, patriotism, etc.
Faculty: Miranda House has one of the best faculties of DU. They are well-experienced and knowledgeable professors who follow all the guidelines properly. They are always ready to help the students. Their teaching quality is so good. The course curriculum is relevant. But, the B.A. Programme courses with Economics or Maths as one of the disciplines have higher placements than the rest of the B.A. Programme disciplines. Also, the teaching style of the professors makes the semester exams easy for us. But, it's impossible to cheat during the exam. The college follows the proper curriculum given by the university.
Other: I wanted to pursue 2 subjects in my graduation. That's why I chose the B.A. Programme. The best part of the course is that we get good exposure to two disciplines. The number of subjects that we have needs to be reduced. It creates a burden on the students. Despite this, the college provides a good number of scholarship opportunities to the students. It organizes great fests/events. The campus crowd is fabulous. We are encouraged for the extracurricular activities by the college societies. It has good connectivity in all the means of transportation. It is properly connected with other colleges also.

Professors beed to be quality ones.
Placements: Placements are available only for the economics courses that too very less. Hardly there are any placements for science or other courses. Neither there are aby workshops or guidance from faculty to appproch the placements. The individual staff council societies however add value to your skill set
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite good in the sense of vibe however there is inadequacy of classrooms, benches, no wifi at all . There is no enough infrastructure for the disability section. Hostel facilities deteriorate day by day with the incharges just swaying off their work.
Faculty: Very few teachers are serious un studies or guiding the students. There goes equal internal politics in all the areas of extra curricular among students as well as teachers. Due to NEP everything is so messed up be it curricular or anything. There are strict concerns about attendance preventing students to be active in ecas or outside college activities.
Other: There are no enough support for students pursuing outside courses, or research internships.

    Worth it! Best experience ever.
Placements: In Eco (H) approximately 50%+ students get placement. The maximum placement package that has been offered to students is above 23 LPA and the minimum package is around 4 LPA. The top recruiting companies are KPMG, Unstop, Infosys, etc. 10%+ students get internships by MHPC.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of classrooms is fine. No issue of electricity and water. There are no ACs in the classes. Wi-Fi is a bit poor. The library is 5/5. Hostel mess, washrooms, and water facility can be enhanced. Medical facilities and canteen food are absolutely fine.
Faculty: The teachers are qualified & knowledgeable. Teachers of core subjects are very dedicated. The course curriculum is very helpful for students' future and relevant. Final semester exams are a bit difficult to complete on time. The failure rate is negligible.
Other: I chose Economics honors as my course because in the present time it is the most demanding course and there are a number of career opportunities in this field. The best things about my course are that it not only improves your career opportunities but it also enhances your skills like analyzing, IQ, understanding and the opportunities offered in our college in this particular course enhance your communication, leadership qualities and boost your confidence as well. The things that can be enhanced in my course are the availability of more reading in the photocopy shop to practice questions and the answer keys of the core books should be provided by the college to help the students. Besides this, the reading of additional subjects (SEC, VAC, AEC, GE) should also be provided in the photocopy shop on time. There are no issues with additional books for the core subjects as all of them are available in the library and easily accessible to all the students. Book bazaars are also organized by the societies twice a month so that students can buy books as per their interests at an affordable price. I believe that campus crowd is of course high in all the DU colleges but if you talk about competition in Miranda House then it's really competitive so you need to work hard to cope with the syllabus. Different events and fests are organized by the department and societies periodically. College trips are also organized by the respective departments. The environment of the campus is fabulous and there's no ragging in our college. The seniors are very friendly and approachable. There are many extracurricular activities that are offered in our college such as basketball tournaments, inter-college completion in dance and sports, marathons, games, etc. Internal and continuous assessments are taken periodically to evaluate the performance of the students and the information regarding any event or official notices are provided to the students through WhatsApp groups. But the hostel facilities in our college can be improved. The food of the mess can be made much better and washroom facilities can be improved in the hostel. Water quality in the hostel can be enhanced. Facilities are okay but provisions of at least a cooler and proper Wi-Fi can be done. Sometimes in the laundry, the clothes get mixed and there are also some cases of stealing. But it depends on you, like how do you take care of your personal items. Above all of this, the environment of the hostel is super cool!

It has the best infrastructure in all of DU.
Placements: The highest salary package offered is 20 LPA. The average salary package offered ranges from 5 LPA - 6 LPA and the lowest salary package offered ranges from 3 LPA - 4 LPA. To receive offers from various companies, it is necessary to complete several internship programs during college to gain experience and practical field knowledge, as companies seek these qualities. Top roles offered in my course include becoming professors or joining ministries and in the private sector, roles may involve handling finance, logistics, or social media.
Infrastructure: Our college is considered to have the best infrastructure among Delhi University colleges. It has buildings from the old British era, which look great. Classrooms are good but do not have air conditioning. A major issue in the college is Wi-Fi. Some areas have a faculty Wi-Fi connection, but it never works and network quality is very low. College library is so amazing that you would be impressed by its beauty and design. But, it also lacks air conditioning, making it difficult for students to sit there and concentrate on their studies. College canteen is very affordable with low prices that can be afforded by everyone. Various medical facilities are available in our college. Two nurses are always present in the hostel. We have a sports room, basketball court, tennis court, volleyball court, and even throwball court. Food quality in the mess is excellent and very healthy.
Faculty: All teachers at Miranda House are well-qualified if they are teaching here. But, not all of them are helpful or cater to our needs. I find many of my teachers to be rude and sometimes unbearable. As a newcomer, this has been a significant problem, as many of the female teachers are quite arrogant. Though course curriculum is relevant, it can be very stressful at times. Semester exams are not too difficult if students have paid attention in class or even if they study on their own. The pass percentage is approximately 37%. To be eligible to sit for exams, students need a minimum of 67%.
Other: I chose this course because I am a UPSC aspirant and this course best suits my interests. Best part of my course is that I have learned many new things from my batchmates. Events held in our college are very enjoyable. A lot of extracurricular activities are organised regularly in our college. We have many societies to join be a part of them.

B.A. in Political Science and Geography - Batch of 2025
    3
    3Placements3Infrastructure3Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Fine infrastructure and faculty are not as per NIRF rank 1.
Placements: From my batch of B.A. programs (Geography + Political Science), I didn't hear about any placements, particularly. Overall, the whole B.A. programme doesn't get much placement, to be honest. There is a need to enhance placement in programme courses at this college.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is quite aesthetic, with ample flowers and trees, and is full of greenery and beauty. Also have beautiful lawns. Classes are fine with windows for natural light and fans for light, but the main problem is that the whole arts block and hostel don't have AC.
Faculty: curriculum is fine not so good the papers you study here for political and geography are not in sync and seem complete. When it comes to faculty, it's fine Senior as well as assistant professor, except for some teachers in geography department.
Other: This course requires some better geography faculty than what is available now.
