Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   What is the admission process of Miranda House for BA Prog.?

A:

Candidates must apply through the CUET UG test if they want to be considered for admission to Miranda Houses' BA Prog. or BA (Hons) programmes. After the exam, students are required to register on the DU CSAS portal (admission.uod.ac.in) following the announcement of the CUET-UG results. Then, CUET-eligible students can submit their course and college preferences. Students must verify their programme-specific merit score, which is automatically generated by the university based on eligibility requirements, before submitting preferences. The tentative allocations list is made public, and after that, course-by-course, the final admission list is made public for admissions.

Q:   What is the fee for the BA programme in Miranda House?

A:

The total tuition fee for all BA and BA (Hons) courses is between INR 44,700 and INR 52,200. This fee is inclusive of all the BA Prog. and BA (Hons) specialisations offered by the college. Additionally, this fee is sourced from unofficial sources. Hence, is indicative. Other than the tuition fee, students are also required to pay other fee components while applying to Miranda House, such as the hostel fee, (if applicable) and application charges. Q:   What is the BA Hons (English) cut-off for Miranda House?

A:

There is no cutoff released for BA Enlish (Hons) courses started 2022. For BA (Hons) in 2021, however, the lowest cutoff released stood at 99 per cent and the admissions closed right after the first round of cutoff released for General category candidates. For other reserved categories, the percentage requirement was comparatively low. While the admission process has completely changed for DU UG admissions starting in 2022 and for the academic year 2023, the competitiveness and quality of students selected for admissions have not changed. So, it can be believed that the students seeking admission to Miranda House should have scores competitive to 99 per cent marks in Class 12 to increase admission changes.

Best girls college and has the best administration and faculty.
Placements: In Eco (H), approximately 50%+ students get placement. The max placement package that has been offered to students is above 23 LPA, and the min package is around 4 LPA. The top recruiting companies are KPMG, Unstop, Infosys, etc. 10%+ students get internships by MHPC.
Infrastructure: The infra of classrooms is fine. No issue of electricity and water. There are no ACs in the classes. Wi-Fi is a bit poor. Library is 5/5. Hostel mess, washrooms, and water facility can be enhanced. Medical facilities and canteen food are absolutely fine.
Faculty: The teachers are qualified & knowledgeable. Teachers of core subjects are very dedicated. Course curriculum is very helpful for the student's future and relevant. Final semester exams are a bit difficult to complete on time. The failure rate is negligible.
Other: I chose Economics honours as my course because in the present time it is the most demanding course and there are a number of career opportunities in this field. The best things about my course are that it not only improves your career opportunities but also enhances your skills like analysing, IQ, understanding, and the opportunities offered in our college in this particular course enhance your communication, leadership qualities, and boost up your confidence as well. The things that can be enhanced in my course are the availability of more reading in the photocopy shop to practice questions, and the answer keys of the core books should be provided by the college to help the students. Besides this, the reading of additional subjects (SEC, VAC, AEC, GE) should also be provided in the photocopy shop on time. There are no issues with additional books for the core subjects as all of them are available in the library and easily accessible to all the students. Book bazaars are also organised by the societies twice a month so that students can buy books as per their interests at an affordable price. I believe that the campus crowd is, of course, high in all the DU colleges, but if you talk about competition in Miranda House, then it's really competitive, so you need to work hard to cope with the syllabus. Different events and fests are organised by the department and societies periodically. College trips are also organised by the respective departments. The environment of campus is fabulous, and there's no ragging in our college. The seniors are very friendly and approachable. There are many extracurricular activities that are offered in our college, such as basketball tournaments, inter-college competitions in dance and sports, marathons, games, etc. Internal and continuous assessments are taken periodically to evaluate the performance of the students and the information regarding any event or official notices are provided to the students through WhatsApp groups. But the hostel facilities in our college can be improved. The food of the mess can be made much better, and washroom facilities can be improved in the hostel. Water quality in the hostel can be enhanced. Facilities are okay, but provisions of at least a cooler and proper Wi-Fi can be done. Sometimes in the laundry, the clothes get mixed, and there are also some cases of stealing. But it depends on you, like how you take care of your personal items. Above all of this, the environment of the hostel is sup

Miranda House - a dream college.
Placements: The percent of students placed is 10–20 percent. The highest package is INR 17 lacs per annum, the average is INR 7-8 LPA, and the lowest is INR 2-3 LPA. Accenture and KPMG Global are the top recruiting companies. Internships are uploaded on portals; however, the information about students getting placed is not sure. Analyst, manager, etc. are the top roles offered.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are well-equipped, and the library contains a lot of informative books. I am not in the hostel, even though the food is good and hygiene is maintained. The college contains three canteens; medical facilities are provided for free by the college; and there is an open gym for all.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified with Ph.D.s in their respective fields. The teaching method is different for every teacher. Yes, the curriculum is revised accordingly. The pass percentage is almost 100 percent, and the semester exams are easy to moderate.
Other: My batch is 2022/2025 or 2026. I am in my second year currently. I chose this course because of my interest in economics. The best thing is that we get to know about what is happening around the globe and how our economy is affecting us. The more intellectual knowledge that must be provided, and the more events are organized at the college level. The campus crowd is good, connectivity depends from person to person, and scholarships are provided to people from backward classes (Sc/St). There are various cells and societies for extracurricular activities.
