Is B.E./B.Tech at Mohamed Sathak Engineering College a good choice?

Here's a summary of the key points:

    Pros:

    * Friendly teaching staff who provide individual attention and mentorship
    * Good placement record, with over 65% of students getting placed in top MNCs (average package: INR6.2 Lacs per annum)
    * Top recruiters include Accenture, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, and Dell
    * Excellent laboratory facilities with modern equipment
    * 24-hour Wi-Fi and library access
    * Affordable hostels with separate messes for vegetarian and non-vegetarian students
    * Well-maintained classrooms and corridors
    * Strong faculty-student ratio, with teachers seeking individual attention
    * Dean of the college is experienced and qualified, creating opportunities for students

    Cons:

    * Infrastructure could be improved, particularly in terms of bathroom maintenance and tap functionality
    * Practical knowledge may be lacking, with some students mentioning that theory-focused education dominates the curriculum
    * Limited extra-curricular activities and events on campus
    * Some students expressed dissatisfaction with the food quality and canteen facilities
    * Hostel rooms may need improvement

Overall, while Mohamed Sathak Engineering College has its strengths, such as good placement records and supportive faculty, it also faces challenges related to infrastructure and practical knowledge. Students considering enrolling at this institution should weigh these pros and cons carefully before making a decision.

I'm totally happy to recommend my college to my cousins, relatives.
Placements: Around 65% of students got placed in top MNCs. Average package 6.2 lpa, the lowest : 3.2 lpa, and maximum: 7.9 lpa was offered. Accenture was the top recruiter. Software developer was the top role offered. Top recruiting companies are Accenture, Tata consultancy services, Infosys, Dell etc. 75% of students got internship from various companies and most of them got placed after they successfully completed their internship.
Infrastructure: 24 hour Wi-Fi facility. You can use library for 24 hours. Very excellent lab facility with very good faculty. Separate mess for veg and non veg students with very affordable rate and high quality food. Canteen facility is superb and 24 hour medical facility available.
Faculty: Teachers are very much kind and mentality to help students. Most of my classmates including me got placed in top MNCs like Accenture, Infosys, Tata consultancy services, tech mahindra, Ashok leyland etc. In every semester there is an industrial visit, it gives you an idea about how an industry works.

    Good infrastructure but no placement.
Placements: 10 percent of students are only in jobs right now. For one year, the fee is around 70 thousand, and also 40 thousand for bus fees. (If you are a day scholar, you need to pay above 1 lakh.) BHEL is our department sector company. Internship with Lenovo in Pondicherry.
Infrastructure: It looks so good about infrastructure, labs are available, classrooms are also okay, but quality staff was not there when I studied. I'm a day scholar, but I had many friends from the hostel. They always told me the food is not good. Sports and games are available.
Faculty: Teaching is good, but some teachers are not good. They never tell us practical experiences. No one can be eligible for the industry. It's like 7 or 8 students only passed in my batch of 24 students. It's difficult to pass the semester exams, but we will try to pass the exams.
Other: Nothing special, but I thought in the future electricity and energy will only survive because fossil fuels are not renewable energy. So, I understand some basic information about my course. Minority scholarship is provided. Cultural events are there, and extracurricular activities also happen.

Our college has descent infrastructure and friendly faculty members.
Placements: Less than 50% of students get placed from college every year. The highest salary was offered by an abroad company of Rs. 30,000 per month. The lowest salary offered was Rs. 8,000 per month. ICICI Bank was the top recruiting company of our college. It hired students for marketing purpose. Safety engineer, environmental engineer and supervisors were the roles offered. In our course, the highest salary package offered was 1.5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was Rs. 86,000 per month. An average salary package offered was Rs. 90,000 per month.
Infrastructure: Our college doesn't have a good infrastructure as I expected. But it is descent and can be improved. Lab equipment is also decent. The canteen on the campus is the worst. Sports facilities are not provided in college neither there are good opportunities for sportspersons.
Faculty: Teaching quality in our college is good. The course curriculum was very relevant. It makes students come out with more outcomes, not only for core subject it's also for other department subjects. It helps students to get more subject knowledge and get placed in a good company.
Other: I opted for the course because I heard about the scope of chemical engineering. A more practical explanation should be provided to students for betterment. Only academics are not considered important here, and no extracurricular activities are held on campus.

Really good infrastructure and platform to study engineering.
Placements: The placement is very low, they offered some workshop programme for developing knowledge. Poor in practical knowledge. The faculty members are nice to teach subjects. They are very strict in campus. They also conducted internship in a year but that is not perfect. Fees are too high to study engineering.
Infrastructure: Nice infrastructure and classrooms but the labs are too old. The classrooms are developed in this year for improving the admission and quality of study. But hostel rooms are little bad when compared to classrooms. Lastly the infrastructure is good.
Faculty: The quality of teaching was really good. Faculty members are really experienced persons but some of the faculty members are passed out students working there. The thing I hate in college practical knowledge is very low. They only teaching theories and some formulas.
Other: Minimum number of students got the placement.

Crowd and campus life is poor, poor bathroom facility, good faculty members,70% placement in 2019.
Placements: Placements for this year was quite appreciable according to previous year placements as our seniors mentioned. For mechanical department the placement was around 72%, people with arrears also got placed in the placement. Few good students got placed in companies like Amazon, Infosys, Cognizant. The maximum package given was 5.5L per annum for two students of civil department for a Bangalore based company. Yes, there is a active placement cell inside our campus.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite bad as the bathrooms are not properly maintained and the taps don't work. The classrooms are white washed and the classrooms are well ventilated. The corridor is moped regularly and good RO facility is available in every corners. The food is canteen and the hostel is average however air contained hostel block is good and well maintained. Only the labs have Wi-Fi, Library is good, sports, game and medical facility is available!
Faculty: The staffs are well experienced they seek individual attention for each and every student. The staffs give life examples if the students don't understand. No problem with faculty members if there is any issue with the faculty and you complain to the HOD the issue is rectified or the staff is dismissed. The dean of the college is a gem for the college he is well experienced and qualified. He is also a member of international federation of engineering students, he creates various opportunities for the students of the college.
Other: Events are conducted in college but not so grand and notable. The campus is placed inside SIPCOT SIRUSERI which is a IT PARK. Scholarship is available for the eligible stidents. Extracurricular activities are kept every weekend with students request and cancelled if the students don't give good result.
