The NIFT CAT exam will be administered in an offline mode and will be a drawing-based exam. During the course of the exam, the candidate is not allowed to write any personal details and place identification marks. The CAT exam will evaluate the candidate on parameters like intuitive ability, power of observation in concept development, and design ability. To prepare for the CAT the candidate needs to work on geometrical shapes, product drawing, line quality, shading, human figures, principles of composition, etc. To improve ones figure drawing skills, one may stick drawing, before moving on to block drawing, and then evolving to add clothes and other items.

NIFT cutoff depends on variables like: seat matrix, category of the candidate, total applications, category, Common Merit Rank (CMR) of the candidate in NIFT 2025, and the popularity (or ranking) of the institute. If any of these variables changes, the cut-off would also change. For instance, if the number of applicants goes up, the cut off would also go up. On the contrary, if the number of applicants is low, the cut-off would stay on the lower side. Candidates planning to appear in the NIFT 2025 exam may consult the previous years cut-of for the exam to get an idea as to what is a safe score or admission. The candidate will need the following documents to participate in the NIFT 2024 counselling process: Class 12/ degree mark sheet and certificate. In case of candidates who have appeared for the qualifying exam/ compartment (of final year/semester) and the result is due need to upload the date sheet /admit card for the examination. In order to apply for the hostel, students must pay INR 23,000 + INR 25,500 (INR 8,500 X 03 months = INR 48,500) before joining the hostel. It is air-conditioned and has twin sharing rooms with all the basic facilities such as an almirah, desk, chair, B.Ed etc. There is a narrow balcony and big windows which don't open. Strict discipline, curfews and good conduct are always maintained in the hostel. It's well connected to Green Park and Hauz Khas metro station.
