This college is way behind the other colleges in terms of placement.

Placements: There were a total of 34 students in our batch. At the end of the year, only 8 students were placed by the college placement drive. The highest salary package offered was 4 LPA by Shapoorji Palonji, and the average salary package offered was 2 LPA.

Realities of the Unknown!

Placements: A healthy 85%+ students were placed across the leading power producers and manufacturing companies of India and abroad. Annual packages offered were good and handsome. It is relatively an unknown college but the placement assistance provided was nothing less compared to NITs.

A reputed college known for producing great power engineers.

Placements: The placement rate for our year was about 80-90%. There were 100% placements for our senior batch. But due to a decline in demand in the power industry and overall stagnation, the placement rate of college had reduced. The highest salary package offered was 4-5 LPA. The placement team consists of both students and faculty, and they are dedicated to ensuring maximum placements.

The infrastructure of our college is good.

Placements: Here, the placements are much less compared to semigovernmental institution. Only a few gets recruited every year. And, from year 2017, the B.Tech course of all the NPTIs of India has been terminated and the other courses are active right now. There are various companies which recruits us like: Vedanta, thermax, tata power, etc.

A really good institute to get placed in core sector.

Placements: Aware of the current placement scenario everywhere, my college is one of the few colleges where only core companies visit and no I. T. companies visit. This is good for the students who get placed in power sector, there area of studies throughout their college life. About 51% of the previous batch was placed and the current placement status is 42% and going. There is a well coordinated placement cell headed by a TPO including final year students.

B.Tech in PWE stream in all NPTIs has closed from last year, which is a dark side of power engineer.

Placements: The placements for our batch were poor. Out of 60 students, only 6-7 students got placed. Out of 7 students, four got placed by TCE, one by Tata Power, and two got in Thermax. The package in Thermax and Tata power was 4.2 lacs per annum. TCE provided near about 4.5 LPA, and no other company visited our college. The shortage of this placement was due to the placement cell's negligence and irresponsibility. They didn't put any proper effort on the placement.

When you think of what you got after the four years, it is less indeed but could be improved.

Placements: When I took admission in the college even then the placements were at a peak, but as the years went by and we reached our final year, it deteriorated to merely 20%. It was not due to the fact that thermal power sector in India is a bit standstill, but most importantly the placement cell needed a change. Now with a new charge, it has an improvement. The average salary offered is around 5 LPA. Various power companies including Vedanta, Reliance power, JSL, Tata power, thermal etc.

Placements: The placement is quite good. The companies like Adani, Reliance, Vedanta, Alstom, PCBL, TATA POWER, Emerson, DCPL, Thermax, Bhusan Power comes to the campus for recruitment. The students are usually taken as graduate engineer trainees, appointed as operation engineer, simulation engineer or design engineer. The highest package was 6 LPA, and the lowest package was 3.2 LPA. The batch strength is around 62. The college has a record of 100% placement in the initial batches, we got 80% placement due...

Satisfactory college. College has seen 100% placement till 2014. Better in 2017 compared to 15&16.

Placements: In the year 2017, the 12th batch has seen an average scenario of 30 students getting placed out of 60. Companies like Vedanta, Thermax, Visa Steel, Secure Energy and etc came to the campus for recruitment. Some companies even called the students for pool campusing. Around 50% students are placed in different companies. Third-year students got an internship in many companies as well.

Average infrastructure and faculty.

Placements: The placement scenario hasn't been that great. 33% of the students were placed from our college this year (21/63). The placement scenario is, however, increasing and on the rise. The highest salary is 8LPA offered by Vedanta. The lowest salary is by Vikram Solar - 2.8LPA. Companies which visited last year are Thermax, PCBL, Vikram Solar, Secure Meters, Vedanta, TCE etc.

Underrated college with a vast potential but decreasing placements.

Placements: Placements were at their best till 2013 passing batch. But since then, placements have declined significantly. Last year (2016 passing batch), only 10-14 people were placed including the off-campus ones. The average salary here has always been around 5 lpa and mostly, power companies come for recruitment here. Some of them are Vedanta, Visa Power, Thermax, PCBL, Adani, Reliance etc. Only core sector companies come here, so they offer GET role to the students. Students do not get internships here...

Good faculty with good knowledge & very bad infrastructure and hostel.

Placements: Placement in TPPE is not that good as the management does not co-operate with each other. Only 12 students got placed in power sector core companies. At last the management started calling marketing companies and all. Placement procedure is also not that fair enough as few students were called for re exam without the course coordinator being informed. The highest salary offered was 7.2 LPA by Vedanta & minimum was 2.2 LPA by Lanco Group. Other than this, Adani Power, Manikaran Traders, CESE, IPC...

Pros: It is one of the best colleges to do a B.tech in power engineering from. This college not only focusses on lectures but also takes the students on power plant visits regularly. Students of this college visit power plants from their second year only, while in all other colleges, it starts from the 3rd year. Therefore, this is one of the advantages of this college. Moreover, the training provided by this college is so good that students from Jadavpur University (one of the best universit...

Good placement record, time freedom, subject give thorough knowledge of the course, course is designed to be loved by a person who has interest in mechanical and electrical. Worst part no canteen and no campus life. Great scope for the people who like to lead from the front as college is running out of active societies and not that much to do at the fests.
