As an attempt to impart knowledge of law and legal affairs to the rural students through national law courses, Nehru Group of Institutions (NGI), has established a college named, Nehru Academy of Law, Palakkad (NAL Palakkad) in 2015. The institute is approved by the Bar Council of India and is managed by NGI consisting of eminent lawyers as faculty members.
With the objective of delivering quality in education and training, the institute offers a total of three law courses at UG and PG level. These courses comply with the Bar Council Rules of Legal Education 2008. NAL Palakkad comprises highly-qualified and dedicated faculty members including experienced senior professors and legal personalities from various courts of Kerala and India. The college encourages the practice of law through which are aimed at sharpening the lawyering skills of the students. It also strives to equip the students for national and international moot court competitions.

NAL Palakkad Admission Process
NAL Palakkad application process usually commences in May, every year. Candidates willing to seek admission to any of the law courses offered at the institute, need to register themselves on the online admission portal of CEE Kerala.
- The selection of candidates to institute’s law programmes is based on their Kerala Law Entrance Examination (KLEE) score for first 50 per cent seats followed by KLEE counselling
- The KLEE counselling process for shortlisted candidates is managed and regulated by CEE, Kerala based on which the candidates are allotted seats. The seat allotment-cum-counselling process is based on college cutoff and a candidate's preference for courses
- The institute has reserved remaining 50 per cent seats for management quota candidates. Such candidates are granted admission to these programme based on their aggregate in previous qualifying degree/ exam

NAL Palakkad Courses
NAL Palakkad offers three courses, including LLB, BBA LLB and BCom LLB programmes. The maximum number of candidates admitted to each of the programme is 60. A brief overview of NAL Palakkad courses and eligibility criteria is listed below:

NAL Palakkad Campus Facilities
NAL Palakkad has a Moot Court Hall for proving experiential learning to the students through Moot Court and Mock Trials. In addition to this, the institute has several other basic amenities which are discussed below in detail:
- Green Zone: NAL Palakkad has a relaxation area, named Green Zone that is designed to help students improve their emotional and physical health.
- Cafeteria & Canteen: The college cafeteria is fairly new and provides enough and delicious food at affordable rates. The campus has a canteen near to the admin block, especially for hoteliers. It opens from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on all working days including Saturdays
- AC Seminar Hall: NAL Palakkad has an air-conditioned, well-equipped seminar hall with the latest digital sound system, LCD projectors, podiums, etc. Space is utilized for activities such as seminars, guest lectures, cultural activities, and staff meetings
- Hostel: Although hostels are not compulsory for the students, however, there is an excellent accommodation facility available to every budget
- Central Library: The institute has a central library spread across an area of 768m2 spanning two floors. It has a seating capacity for 160 and has a collection of 34,934 volumes consisting of 11,537 titles in different domains of Science and Technology

LL.M. | Candidates must have passed LL.B. examination (Five year / Three year course) with the minimum mentioned marks from any University in Kerala or any other Universities, recognized by the particular University in Kerala to which the college that the candidate desires to get admitted is affiliated, as equivalent thereto. Candidates who are appearing/appeared for the regular Final Year LLB Examinations can also apply Provisional basis. |
B.Com LL.B | Candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board. Candidates who are appearing/ appeared for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. |
LL.B. | Candidate must have completed graduation with above mentioned marks from any recognised University/Institute. Result awaited students can also apply on provisional basis. The applicants who have obtained graduation/post-graduation through the open universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission. |
