Q:   Is M.Tech at NSIT better than DTU?

    A:

This is a subjective question that depends on various factors such as your preferences, interests, goals, and expectations. However, I can provide you with some information that may help you compare the two institutes.

    - NSIT offers an enriched curriculum with elective subjects from the early semesters, catering to students' academic inclinations.

    - DTU seems to outshine NSIT in terms of overall college experience, considering factors like events, hostel amenities, and parking.

    - NSIT is best in terms of placements, especially for branches like CSE or IT, where students receive cushy salary packages.

    - DTU has a larger campus area and more facilities than NSIT, such as a swimming pool, a gym, a library, and a sports complex.

    - IIIT Delhi is another option that may be better than both DTU and NSIT if you are planning on pursuing research or doing an MS in the USA after completing your B.Tech.

Ultimately, the choice is yours to make based on your priorities and preferences. I hope this helps.

The seniors are very cooperative and helpful. They are always willing to assist their fellow juniors
Placements: I don't know much about the other courses, but in my course, we do get the opportunity to do internships, one after the first year and another after the second year. The internships we do after the first and second years usually don't provide a stipend, but once you complete your degree, you can get a good amount of stipend; for example, at Cadbury, it's around 70-75k.
Infrastructure: The best. The social exposure at NSUT is great. Different societies as well as events make for a very enjoyable college life. Moreover, having a good friend circle makes attending these events even more fun. A person can easily open up with people while attending these events. NSUT's annual event is called Moksha, where popular celebrities come and perform within the NSUT premises. The college has great sports facilities, including separate football and cricket grounds, an international-level race track, three basketball courts, and a lawn tennis court. Plus, there is a room dedicated to table tennis tables. The library is huge, containing all the books required for various students from different branches.
Faculty: All the faculty members in the college are really supportive and sweet. They help us with almost every hardship we face and also clear every doubt. The best thing I like is the events that take place in the college. The exams are also not as difficult if you attend classes regularly.

The classroom size and the infrastructure.
Placements: Placement of the college is very good compared to other colleges i will not talk about the recession year the highest package is around 1.2 crores last year highest domestic package was 56 lakh and the over all percentage of students placed was >60% the no of offers made was around 300 after 6th semester students are eligible for campus placements.
Infrastructure: 1 bed without mattress the food quality in the hostel is way better than most of the pgs outside the college 1 table and chair with 1 almirah is also given ac are not provided in most of the hostels and mostly students get single room after 1st year Hostel Fee: INR 50000 per year
Faculty: The curriculum of nsut is pretty good compared to other colleges we get good time but as always semester in engineering are short we should just remove the 65% or 75% attendance rule and everything would be great then else i don't think there is a need for other changes.

I am satisfied with this college.
Placements: Above 90% of students got placed in our course. You can also go for tech placements easily. Our college provides good placements for all courses. The tech branch is the best among any other colleges in India. About 85% of students get placed in top companies like Google and Amazon every year. The highest salary package offered ranges between 1 CPA - 2 CPA.
Infrastructure: The CS department is very good. It has magnificent classrooms and labs with air conditioners. The hostel is good. Our college provides 3 girls' hostels. We have 2, 3, and 4 sharing rooms. The infrastructure of our college is good. Our college building is good. Our college has different departments for BBA, designing, MBA, etc. Our college is huge.
Faculty: All teachers are very knowledgeable. They have many years of teaching experience. Our course teachers are very kind and helpful. All courses are good and make us industry-ready. The curriculum is difficult compared to DTU. Almost 75% of attendance is mandatory in our college.
Other: Our course consists of maths and computers. I opted for this course because I like maths and computers. It has some difficult subjects, so our college should improve the course structure. The crowd is more.

I would recommend joining this college.
Placements: Almost 90% of students got placed in our batch. The highest salary package offered is 18 LPA. The average salary package offered is 8 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Ola Electric, GE Power, Short Hills, and Telstra. Almost 70% of students got internships in companies like Ola, GE Power, etc. Top roles offered are assistant manager, lead excitation engineer, software developer, data analyst, and VLSI designer.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are well-facilitated. Laboratories are well-equipped with needed instruments and machines. Around 12 lecture theatre classes are newly constructed to equip large batches of 180 students per class. The library is accessible only on college days during office timings. The campus is huge with ample space for extracurricular activities and stage shows. Our campus has a huge playground and sports complex. There are four boys' hostels and two girls' hostels with a capacity of 400 students. The food quality is decent. Wi-Fi facility is available in the college. Canteen facility is available at the student center. Hostels have laundry facility. A shopping complex is available on campus. The medical center is inside the college with doctors, attendants, chemists, medicine availability, and a few tests. All these facilities are provided free of cost for students.
Faculty: All the teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable in their field. Most of the teachers have completed their doctorate degrees. Many of them are working on sponsored projects. Students have to strive hard to get the attention of teachers to ask doubts regarding the topics because of huge batches. The course curriculum is outdated according to industry standards. Only the computer science and electronics department has many placements offers because of market demand. Students of the core branch fail to get placement offers in the core industry because of the outdated syllabus. Class preparation for the IT industry helps them to get a job in software profile. Exams are not so difficult to pass, but for other courses, you have to work hard to get good grades. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I opted for this course because I aspire to build my career in the academic line and for my master's as it gives a broad area of research and a vast sea to dive deep down and discover various fields of electronics, computer algorithms, and many hardware implementations. The number of classes to students ratio is less. I would suggest increasing the number of lecture rooms so that the batches could be smaller and the teacher could give more attention to students. Students get ample opportunities for their creativity and hobbies. The campus is well-connected with the metro station and road.

It is a good college under the Delhi government.
Placements: Almost 25% of the students got placed in our batch. TCS, Infosys and HCL were the top recruiters. The lowest salary package offered was 2 LPA, and the highest salary package offered was 7 LPA. IT security was the top role offered in the course. Almost 40% of the students got internships in our course. In our course, the average salary package offered was 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: The quality of food provided in the college was average. Wi-Fi facilities were very good, and lab facilities were also proper. Hostel facilities were not available at that time. There was a centralised library with the latest updated editions of books. There was a playground.
Faculty: Qualified faculty members were selected by UPSC with good teaching experience. The course curriculum was good, but it was not updated as it needed to be updated at regular intervals. Faculty members were very knowledgeable. The idea of starting this course was good as it in demand nowadays.

I'm satisfied with faculty members, infrastructure, and facilities. It provides average placements.
Placements: Placements in our college are pretty good as more than 150 companies visit the campus for recruitment. Startups also come to hire students with good salary packages. Companies are the same for B.Tech and M.Tech placements and we need to compete for that. Tech and non-tech companies also visit the campus for placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is pretty good. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled and 3 floors library. The college has 4 boys hostel and 2 girls hostel. Each hostel has the mess. College is spread in 147 acres of land and has all sets of facilities. We also have a separate sports complex, canteen, and a gym. The food served in the canteen is also of good quality.
Faculty: The course curriculum is good and we have options of a choice based credit system. We have the choice to select our subjects. Teachers are helping and are well qualified for the curriculum and have sufficient knowledge of the subjects. The course is relevant with respect to the industry. Teachers are only for help and you need to do the rest for yourself.
Other: I choose this course because of my background and interest in it. I want to do a master's. The choice-based credit system makes it better as it makes us study the subjects of other streams also. Campus crowd is good and connectivity from the college is good enough. It is connected with the metro and bus. For master's, the course scholarship is provided for non GATE candidates and college conducts events and fests to enjoy college life. The college has a lot of societies, and you can join according to your interest.

    Admission FAQs

Q:   What are the fees structures for M.Tech programmes at NSIT?

    A:

The exact fee structure for M.Tech programs at the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIT) in Uttarakhand according to Shiksha is 1.3 lac to 3.8 lac. However, insights from other NITs suggest a general fee breakdown. The typical charges like admission fees, grade card costs, medical examination fees, and alumni membership dues. Yet, specific M.Tech courses might have distinct fee structures, as exemplified by the fees for M.Tech in VLSI & Embedded Systems at NIT Delhi. It's crucial to recognize that these amounts are approximate and subject to modifications based on guidelines from entities like MoE/MHRD/NIT council. For precise details on M.Tech fees at NSIT, Uttarakhand, it's best to consult the institution's official website or establish direct contact with them.

Q:   Which entrance exam scores does NSIT accept for admission to M.Tech?

    A:

NSIT (Netaji Subhas University of Technology) offers M.Tech admissions based on GATE scores, as indicated by various sources. For candidates who don't qualify through GATE, an alternative written examination is available. Unlike some institutions, NSIT does not specify a fixed minimum marks requirement for M.Tech admissions; instead, cutoffs are determined by factors like the specific institute, category, and engineering branch. For comprehensive and up-to-date details on M.Tech admissions at NSIT, individuals are advised to consult the official NSIT website or the dedicated M.Tech admission brochure.

The official website of the institution always provides relevant information about the admission process other than the website of Shiksha as well.

    A:

Multiple factors determine the cutoff grades for M.Tech programs at NSIT (Netaji Subhas University of Technology), including the specific institute, category, and engineering branch. GATE scores are used primarily in the selection process, but candidates without a GATE score are also considered based on the NSUT merit list. To estimate the projected cutoff grades for M.Tech admissions at NSIT in 2023, examine past years' cutoff trends and associated drivers. These factors include the difficulty level of the GATE exam, the size of the candidate pool, and the number of available seats. It's critical to understand that cutoffs can differ depending on home states, state quotas, and specific groups like EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, and ST.

    A:

Determining the superiority between M.Tech programs at NSIT and DTU is subjective and depends on individual preferences. A comprehensive analysis suggests that NSIT offers an enriched curriculum with elective subjects from the early semesters, catering to students' academic inclinations. Conversely, DTU seems to outshine NSIT in terms of overall college experience, considering factors like events, hostel amenities, and parking. Furthermore, DTU's M.Tech placements rival those of the top NITs. While Shiksha present detailed course comparisons between NSIT and DTU, they don't conclusively rank one institute over the other. Hence, prospective students should weigh multiple elements, including curriculum structure, placement records, infrastructure, and personal aspirations, before finalizing their choice.
