B.Tech. in Instrumentation and Control Engineering - Batch of 2028

I prefer everyone to take admission in NSUT. My overall experience is outstanding at NSUT.
Placements: According to my seniors because I'm in 1st year: 80 percent of students were placed in instrumentation engineering. The highest package for the B.Tech. in ICE programme at NSUT in 2023 was INR 40 LPA. Aakash Institute, Accenture, Accolite, DE Shaw, Deloitte, Direct, KPMG, Lares Softech, Reliance Industries Limited, and Reliance Jio also came. In Microsoft, the giant tech company, according to me. Around 60% of the last 2023 batch got internships in ICE with companies including Jaguar and Maruti Suzuki. Top roles offered by ICE: Software Developer, Software Engineer, Data Analyst, Consultant, and Hardware Engineer.
Infrastructure: I gave 4 stars for infrastructure and 3 stars for the hostel. Campus: The 145-acre campus is landscaped and residential. It has a lush green environment with a variety of flora and fauna. Academic: The campus has academic blocks, classrooms, tutorial rooms, drawing halls, and a library building. Laboratories: The campus has modern laboratories, research labs, workshops, and a language lab. Sports: The campus has state-of-the-art sports facilities. Hostels: The campus has hostels for students. Canteens: The campus has four well-maintained canteens. BUT THERE IS NO GOOD GROCERY SHOP IN NSUT. I'm not a hosteler, so I can't comment on that.
Faculty: Yes, the faculty is highly qualified and experienced, and the teachers are dedicated and helpful. My Civil teacher is too good; he is very cooperative. But do you know about aged professors? Like our English teacher, she is also good at teaching but too strict. The course curriculum at NSIT is relevant for me and almost all of my batchmates. According to me, in the 1st semester, they refer to a different subject from the course, but maybe it helps in building fundamentals. The semester exams are at the level of IITs exams, tough for me.
Other: That’s why no college provides scholarships to general students based on merit, and why government colleges are better than many private colleges.

Not really good but can be considered .
Placements: The placements are good here, as told by some of the seniors that if you have got the required skill set, you will definitely get a job from here, and you will be definitely given a chance, so getting a placement from this college isn't really a big problem.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college is not really good, as the campus is really small, and it was under IPU earlier. There is no Wi-Fi on the campus, and moreover, there is a network problem; the college doesn't even have its hostel and mess. The sports facilities are okay but not as someone expects them to be.
Faculty: The faculty here is fine, as some of the teachers are really helpful while some of them are ignorant about students. The curriculum, I feel, is very relevant to today's world and is enough to make students industry ready. The semester exams here are average, and the questions in them are doable.
Other: This college does not have active societies and does not have its fest, but you can definitely go to the main campus to have an experience of that.

SEE before you believe in words.
Placements: Placement and internship opportunities are great here. Many companies come every year to the college, like Microsoft, Google, Sprinklr, etc. The highest package was 63 LPA, and the average package for CSE is 16-22 LPA. 70 percent of students are placed by the college, and it provides multiple opportunities according to your skills.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and labs for my course are nice and air-conditioned. Wi-Fi is available too. The library is air-conditioned with enough space for many students, and it has a vast collection of books. You can sit there to use your laptop or books to study calmly.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and helpful in every way. Teaching quality is good here. The course curriculum is relevant and ensures that you learn to implement things practically, making sure that you are fit for the industry. The pass percentage is pretty high, and the difficulty level is a bit above average.
Other: Computer Science faculty is great, and the college provides excellent placement and internship opportunities. Two fests are conducted in the college: the annual fest called Moksha-Inovision and another fest called Resonaz, which is conducted in October.

    How college life looks like.
Placements: Almost 70% students get placed this year. The highest package is 1.23cr. The average package is 8 Lacs. The median package is 13 Lacs. Top recruiting companies came with their massive offers, like JP Morgan and McKinsey, and other big four companies also came with top roles offered in their course.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is too good, and faculty members are supportive and easily available for your doubts in concepts or career-related goals, etc. Wi-Fi is available across the whole campus, with a study-related environment. Well-designed classrooms and labs are there. Medical and sports facilities are awesome.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are well-qualified and they do their job properly with smartness. The curriculum was not properly relevant for getting jobs in industrial, teaching, or non-teaching areas. It is moderate to give all the answers to the questions. If you get 41% in each subject, you will pass.
Other: I chose this course just because of my rank in JEE, and it is a core course of engineering. The course structure in semesters, fests, and events are too good here.

    NSUT Mechanical in One Shot.
Placements: So, I am pursuing mechanical engineering from NSUT. According to previous year trends, I can tell you that around 70% of students get placed in our branch. The average package is around 10 LPA. In 2024, the highest package offered was 24 LPA and the lowest was 3 LPA. Many companies like Hero, Reliance Industries Limited, and GAIL come to our college to recruit students from our branch.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure provided by our college for our course are pretty good. Wi-Fi is available all across the campus of our college. Proper machines are there for us to understand subjects like electronics or electrical. The library of our college has got all the books needed for our course. Hostel facilities provided by our college are pretty decent as far as hostels go. I would say the same about mess food, but the sports facilities provided by our college are actually very good. Every year, teams from our college go to different colleges to compete in various sports like volleyball, football, cricket, badminton, and many other sports. This year, teams from our college went to IIT BHU to compete in these sports.
Faculty: The faculty of our college is pretty good. They are very helpful, friendly, and skilled at what they teach. There are always exceptions, but most of them are pretty good. The curriculum is honestly outdated, just like in any other college in India. You can't be industry-ready just by getting the degree; you still have to put a lot of effort into getting internships and jobs on your own. But one thing is for sure: you will get opportunities from this college; you just have to be ready for them. Semester exams are not that difficult; you just have to put a little effort in to get decent marks.
Other: I chose to do mechanical engineering because I have been interested in the mechanical part of machinery my whole life. The best branch is not necessarily the one that gets you the highest package; the best branch is the one you are interested in. What I like about my course is that it is very logical, and everywhere you can see the mechanical engineering working. There are still things about my course that I would change. The first one is that the 75% attendance criteria should be removed because, due to this restriction, students are not able to develop personally, which eventually affects their job prospects. Two main fests take place in our college: the first is MOKSHA, which happens around March and is the main fest at NSUT and one of the biggest fests in Delhi. The second is Rezonanz, which happens in October. Scholarships are available for financially weaker students and those who perform well in their studies.

Vibrant campus with strong placements with scope for skill growth.
Placements: On average, more than 85 percent of students are placed comfortably, and sometimes the placements are exceptional (provided the market does not suffer a recession). Top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, Atlassian, Sprinklr, Samsung, DE Shaw, Visa, etc. The top Roles offered are SDE, Product Manager, Consultant, R&D, etc. depending on the type of companies visiting the campus. Average packages for top branches or IT branches are approximately 16–18 LPA. The percentage of students generally getting internships on campus is approximately 40 percent, if the market is booming.
Infrastructure: Wi-fi facilities are available, and sometimes the network is not up to the mark, but they have worked out this and taken the necessary steps. Classrooms are being transformed into smart ones with hi-tech facilities. Library access is there obviously (though a little bit crowded sometimes). As far as the hostel facilities are concerned, the mess food is of average quality. Rooms are of standard sizes. A basketball court is there, and one can practice cricket in the net. Along with that, a running track is being rebuilt so one can enjoy sports while being on campus.
Faculty: The seniors are undoubtedly knowledgeable, and some possess great teaching qualities, but like every other college, they can't dedicate their limited time to entertain every query. The course curriculum is not up to the industry standard, and many subjects are still irrelevant in this era of AI, ML, and newly emerging trends. So, you need to mug them up just for the sake of CGPA and learn various skills on your own to become industry-ready. The average difficulty level is there in exams, so more than 90 percent of students pass the college exams easily.
Other: 2 fests are organized generally: Moksha and Resonanz. Moksha is attaining new heights year by year with the performances of celebrities like Vishal-Shekhar, King, Raftar, etc. Also, the college supports the government scholarships for economically backward students and provides them relief. Facilities are great near the campus like Vegas Mall, food outlets, metro stations, etc. Things which should be improved can be: 1. Lowering the strictness of college administration 2. Focusing more on skill-development of students than curriculum and classes.
