In a conversation with Shiksha.com, Dr R.J. Anandhi, Professor and Dean of Academics at New Horizon College of Engineering, Bangalore talks about “Aligning students’ ambitions with curriculum that will enable them to adapt their knowledge to the industrial culture. NHCE emphasises that all labs in various disciplines have industry tags, apart from the 16 Centres of Excellence established in collaboration with Industry Giants. Dr R.J. Anandhi is currently working as a Professor and Dean of Academics at New Horizon College of Engineering, Bangalore. She is a PhD graduate in computer science with a specialization in Spatial Data Mining. She has a rich experience of 26 years in teaching.

During New Horizon College of Engineering placements 2023, a total of 109 recruiters visited and over 1,312 students got placed. For admissions to the BTech course, candidates need to fulfil the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for admissions is that candidate should have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with English as one of the languages with at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate for candidates belonging to Karnataka Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward Classes (Category I, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B) in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Biology. BE is a four-year course divided into eight semesters. The college offers BE in seven specialisations, namely Computer Science, Mechanical, Computer Science (Data Science), Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Information Science & Engineering and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Candidates after completing Class 12 or equivalent examination with English as one of the languages with at least 45% aggregate in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Biology can apply for the BE course. In case of candidates belonging to Karnataka Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward Classes (Category I, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum aggregate for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination. Class 12 with at least 45% aggregate in each subject is required for Management Quota.

- Company-specific technical training: Training with respect to company-specific requirements like Pseudo Code Training, Problem-solving sessions. Enables the students to focus on a particular industry and excel in the same.
