April 16, 2024: Narula Institute of Technology proudly held a voter awareness campaign on April 16, 2024, to inspire our students to become responsible and active citizens and arm them with essential knowledge about the democratic process. Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of our students and the insightful remarks from our distinguished guest speaker, Mr Sumit Agarwal, the recently appointed SVEEP and PwD Icon of North 24 Parganas District, the event was a great success.
Mr Agarwal gave a powerful 15-minute speech to start the hour-long session. During his speech, he offered insightful viewpoints on the importance of actively participating in the democratic process. His knowledge and enthusiasm for civic involvement struck a chord with our audience, motivating them to get involved and improve their communities. After the speech, students had the opportunity to ask insightful questions and learn more about different facets of the electoral process.

JIS Group Organises Innovative Business Plan Competition

August 10, 2023: Students from the JIS Group of Educational Initiatives pitched their business plans as part of the "Made in JIS Celeb Edition" event, which was held by the group's educational initiatives. Participants competed for prizes and support for their ventures. The JIS Group's forty participating teams from various educational institutions presented their business plans. A distinguished team of judges, including Subham Raj Sharma, Co-Founder of Webingo, Sunil Chandra Saha, CEO of Blue Tea, Dhiman Das, Director of K C Das, renowned filmmaker Pavel, and  Avelo Roy, MD of Kolkata Ventures, judged the student business concepts during the competition's finals. On this occasion, Jaspreet Kaur was also there. The judges evaluated the presentations by student entrepreneurs and assessed their business ideas, skills, and potential for success. The team from Asansol Engineering College with their innovative idea ‘E-Hastakshar” and the team from Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Sciences and Research with their “Self Locking Matrix” bagged the winning award. The contest helped to provide a unique and enriching opportunity and learning experience that will equip students with valuable skills and perspectives.

August 8, 2023: Arundhati Bhattacharya, the trailblazing former CEO of the State Bank of India (SBI), graced the prestigious The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Leadership Lecture series with her illustrious presence in a fascinating demonstration of leadership acumen. In the distinguished presence of academic Dignitaries, including the esteemed Alapan Bandyopadhyay (former IAS officer and chief advisor to the government of WB) and Tamal Bandyopadhyay (Author & Mentor, Banking & Finance Committee, BCC&I), The JIS Group Educational Initiatives, the esteemed title sponsor of the lecture series, proudly presented their felicitations to Bhattacharya. The prestigious JIS Sardar Jodh Singh Award for Ignited Minds 2023 and a certificate were presented to Bhattacharya by the JIS Group of Educational Initiatives, the event's title sponsor, as a mark of appreciation.

JIS University Celebrates its 3rd Convocation with Remarkable Placement of Its Students in Global IT Organisations 

August 4, 2023: JIS University had its third grand convocation, a major occasion to honour the achievements of its graduating students in terms of academic brilliance and record-breaking placement in some of the largest global IT businesses. Sardar Taranjit Singh, honorary Chancellor of JIS University and Managing Director of JIS Group, officially opened the ceremony, which was held on the NIT-JIS University Campus. Prof. Arup Kumar Raychaudhuri, SERB Distinguished Fellow, Prof. Partha S. Ghosh, Professor of Practise at Tufts University in the United States, and Prof. G.L. Dutta, Professor Emeritus, IIT Kharagpur, Policy Advisor, Governing Body Member, JIS group, were among the distinguished guests in attendance. Honourable Vice-Chancellor of JIS University Prof. Bhabes Bhattacharya delivered the convocation report.

The convocation ceremony honoured students from various Departments of JIS University, including the School of Engineering, School of Management Studies, School of Pharmaceutical Technology, School of Sciences, School of Education, School of Juridical Science, School of Hospitality & Hotel Administration, and JIS Institute for Advanced Studies & Research (JISIASR). This year, a total of 1028 students were conferred Degrees and Diplomas at various levels. 693 students received their UG Degrees, 228 PG Degrees, 102 Diplomas, and 5 Ph.D. degrees. The outstanding academic performance of 40 students was recognised by conferring them with gold medals, 30 students were awarded silver medals, and 22 graduates received bronze medals for their exceptional achievements.

Aman Giri (B.Tech-CSE) received Josh Technologies' highest offer of 18 LPA, creating an excellent standard for achievement. The Honourable Chancellor of JIS University and Managing Director of the JIS Group, Sardar Taranjit Singh, gave a speech at the event and said, "At JIS University, we take enormous satisfaction in the achievements of our graduating students, who have shown amazing endurance and dedication. Despite the difficulties brought on by the post-pandemic circumstances, our students have achieved academic success and been hired by famous companies.

Narula Institute of Technology Organises a Debate Competition 

March 23, 2023: In the University Challenge discussion, students from various educational institutions from India and outside engaged in a dazzling verbal battle. This event was proudly presented by the Narula Institute of Technology in association with the Calcutta Debate Circle. Participants came from prestigious universities outside of Bangladesh, including Dhaka University and Independent University, as well as from prestigious colleges in Delhi, like Hindu College and OP Jindal Law School. Teams from the JIS Group, Presidency University, Jadavpur University, St. Xavier's College, Loreto College, Calcutta University, and IIM Calcutta were all represented among the teams from Kolkata. "Educational institutions should incorporate artificial intelligence into their teaching and learning processes," was the motion in the first round, and "Laws are made for political convenience, not national need," was the motion in the final round. Distinguished cardiologist Dr Kunal Sarkar presided over the discussion's conclusion. Raju Raman, Pradeep Gooptu, Moyuree Mukherjee, Ipsita Barat, Priyam Marik, and Natasa Aziz served as the events' judges and coordinators. Vibha Agarwal, who was speaking on behalf of JIS University, won the award for second-best speaker of the day, with the winning team serving as a side proposition.

The Grand Finale of JIS Spirit was Staged at the Narula Institute of Technology

March 8, 2023: Spring is a time for renewal, and at the beginning of this season, Narula Institute of Technology hosted the grand finals of JIS Spirit, an intercollegiate cultural competition for institutions affiliated with the JIS group. The first part of the first session was dedicated to Babuji and Mataji, the founding guardians of the JIS Group. The pupils participated in an arranged cultural demonstration where they joyfully sang and danced. As the dignitaries arrived at the JC Bose auditorium for the Spirit's formal opening, students and professors from several institutions marched through the campus while wearing vibrant yellow, red, blue, and orange clothing.

The team of visitors was led by Prof. (Dr.) Santanu Sen, Chairperson, JIS Spirit 2023, to light the lucky lamp. Abhijit Sengupta, Prof. Abhijit Sengupta, Chairman, JIS Samman 2023 gave an inaugural note which marked the official declaration of JIS Spirit 2023. The eminent singer Surojit Chatterjee (former lead vocalist of Bhoomi Band) graced the programme as the chief guest. The illustrious presence of the renowned judges of different events -Theater personality Shayamal Chakraborty, TV actor Subhashish Chatterjee, noted orator, Partho Chakraborty added color to the session. The inaugural session made memories close to the heart and the cheerful contestants vowed to participate in true spirit.

 Narula Institute of Technology Hosts Inter School Winter Carnival Ecstasy 2023

February 26, 2023: Nirula Institute of Technology recently organised Inter School Winter Carnival Ecstasy 2023. The institute's faculty, staff, and student volunteers planned, organised, and effectively carried out this large-scale event.
With the opening event of app and website development to the end programme of felicitation, the focus was on Narula Institute of Technology's guiding principle—the unrelenting quest of excellence—with the young children as they prepared for this Carnival. 

The best competitors from each school participated in the contests for creative writing, quizzes, debates, robotics workshops, cricket, drama, rangoli making, and other events.
The schoolchildren experienced a new era of education where fun and knowledge were balanced in a positive manner. Knowledge, creativity, physical health, and entertainment—the four faculties of learning—were all incorporated into the creation of each event.

BITM Organises Science & Engineering Fair 2023

January 18, 2023: Every year, the Birla Industrial & Technological Museum (BITM) sponsors the Science & Engineering Fair to inspire students enrolled in Engineering programmes, Science programmes, and Universities to develop original projects in a variety of fields related to science and engineering.

The Science & Engineering Fair for this year was held at BITM from January 10 to January 13, 2023. At this fair, students from various engineering institutions, science colleges, and universities took part.

Rohit Sanyal, Manager of Marketing & Business Development, presented prizes to worthy children at the Science & Engineering Fair at Birla Industrial & Technological Museum on January 13, 2023, to encourage them to exhibit their scientific creativity via invention.

I'm satisfied with the college life till now.

Placements: About 80 to 90 percent of students get placed each year. The highest package is 27 LPA (till now), and the lowest is around 2 LPA. Companies like Accenture, Capgemini, Wipro, ITC Infotech, and others come here for campus recruitment. About half of the students get internship opportunities with relevant skills. Top roles: B.Tech, BCA, MCA, M.Tech, etc.

Overall teachers are good, infrastructure is small and placement is average.

Placements: Placement experience: 4th-year students are eligible for placement. Companies with low and average packages and mass recruiters come here like TCS, Accenture, Capgemini, etc. Average placements are of 5 LPA for 88 percent of students. The highest package is 18 LPA on campus and off-campus is of 51 LPA in Microsoft.

I am really satisfied with my college; there is a great opportunity.

Placements: Above around 200 students are placed till now. The highest package contains 28 Laks per annum, and the lowest and average package is 4.5 Lacs per annum. Top recruiters like Accenture, Capgemini, Mindtree. Above 20-40 students got their internship in Accenture as Software Developers.

Placements: In this year, 80% of the students are placed in good companies like Cognizant, TCS, Capgemini, Juspay, and many new startups. Many students got internships in Microsoft, Capgemini, Infosys, etc. Faculty members and placement are supportive of all students.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the college.

Placements: Only IT companies come for placements, taking only 1 student. Only people seeking private tuition from the TPO head get good placement. The average package offered is 3 LPA, though candidates are benched for a year. In core departments, we barely get one core company for placements, offering only 3 LPAs.

First of all gaining knowledge should be your first moto during the engineering tenure. College will only support you in framing your career, ultimately its you who gives shape to it.
