NIT Patna; A College of our Dreams.
Placements: The placement opportunities are quite promising here, with many reputed companies like L&T, EIL, BPCL, and others regularly visiting for campus placements. At the Bachelor of Technology level, the placement rate is very good, although it is slightly lower at the Masters level. The college has a dedicated placement cell that provides assistance to students in getting placed.
Infrastructure: The academic infrastructure is good. Hostel availability is slightly poor since it is situated in a city and it's area is smaller as compared to other NITs. A new campus is under construction, which will improve the academic as well as residential infrastructure of the college.
Faculty: There are good professors available here; they teach very well and are very helpful. Good place for study. Teachers are very friendly and willing to help students in whatever way possible. The number of professors is also sufficient in all departments. The civil engineering department has more than 25 professors.
Other: Situated in the heart of the city, it's a little bit more crowded. Ganga Ghat is just back from the college. Technical and cultural festivals happen in odd and even semesters. Overall, connectivity is very good compared to other colleges.

It is a good college with an improvement in placements year by year.
Placements: Most students pursuing computer science and information technology get placed fully. Students of electronics and communication got placed successfully after them. Various companies like Amazon, Tata Consultancy, Wipro, and L & T visit the campus for placement. A computer science girl got the highest package last year at about 45 LPA, and the overall average salary package was 6.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are quite good at our college. For girls, there is the Ganga hostel, which consists of 5 floors. There are 2 hostels for boys, Kosi hostel and Brahmputra hostel. Both hostels are fully equipped with Wi-Fi 24 hours a day, and the mess food is of average quality. A medical facility is also available in the compound with 2 doctors, and for critical situations, there is a government. The hospital is PMCH, which is hardly 5 minutes away from the college campus. There is a fully maintained sports ground as well as a separate gym for both girls and boys, an indoor badminton court, and a tennis table facility.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The way of teaching is quite good as they use boards as well as presentations for better explanation. The curriculum is followed as directed by the UGC and includes all relevant topics that will be useful in their respective fields. Semester exams are genuinely based upon the syllabus covered during classes, and the quality of questions asked is quite logical. Almost every student passes the exams who attends the classes fully focused.
Other: Extra-curricular activities in our college are equally valued as the curriculum as they make you learn teamwork, physical strength, and mental strength. Our college always participates in inter-college tournaments.

    Satisfied because of faculty members.
Placements: No industrial placements are there for PG in water resources, though a few students were allowed to attend placements of L&T. Few colleges have recruited some students for faculty positions. However, many students opted for PhD. Placements are improving nowadays, but placements for PG students are still less.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is improving. The classrooms were conventional during our tenure, and there were a few smart classrooms for seminars, etc. The library is good and also enlarging its capacity. The campus has good Wi-Fi connectivity with better connectivity for research scholars.
Faculty: The faculty members were good. They were highly qualified and knowledgeable. They always motivated students in the right direction and encouraged them to opt for the best goals. The course was not arranged well during our tenure, but now it has been modified.

This NIT will only give you a tag, other educational benefits of NIT are not good.
Placements: The college provided one or two chances for a technical job, other than that, only software companies came for placements. So, come with no hope because they will not provide any job. Oracle and L&T came till now. A teaching job at coaching center was offered in the placements. For B.Tech, the college has a good placement percentage.
Infrastructure: There are labs, but instruments are outdated, it is needed to reconfigure the labs. It is a small campus. There is a shortage of classrooms. The faculty members are not at all helpful. They are lazy to take classes. The exam level is also very poor. No water coolers are available. The library is closed after 6 PM.
Faculty: Some faculty members are the best, but most of them do not have potential to teach in such a respected central institute. The faculty members are not remarkable. No course oriented lab or subject is available. There are not any separate chambers or sitting space for research scholars, that's a shame.
Other: The events are improving every year, but very few events are conducted. There is a high-speed Wi-Fi provided in the college. The college is near Ganga Ghat, so you can spend a peaceful evening. The extracurricular activities are limited.

Dissatisfied because of the lack of placement opportunities and lack of hostel facility.
Placements: Placement of my batch was not good as only one student got placed. Percentage of placement is very less for my branch. I am not sure about the package. The placements for my branch were by companies like L & T, Alstom, Infosys, Cognizant. One student was offered an internship. We can say by seeing the stats that the placement for M.Tech students is not very promising in this institute and the student has to be on his own. The only thing we get from the college is the degree. Whereas the placement for B.Tech students is comparatively good and that too for branches like CSE, IT, ECE. For the core branches like Civil, Electrical and Mechanical very few companies visit the college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. The classes are well maintained as well as the labs. The library is also good. There are good facilities for sports. The canteen serves good food. The only issue is that there is a lack of hostel for boys. There is no provision of hostels for postgraduate and PhD scholars.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and well qualified. They are knowledgeable and have command over their subject. They are helpful. Teaching methods used by them is good. Student to faculty ratio is good. The course curriculum was very useful. There is no issue with the faculty members in this institute.
