Satisfied with the college. Above-average placements and really good seniors as well.
Placements: Placement of Mechanical engineering department is 100% this year the highest Package 18 LPA and the lowest one 5 LPA 20-30% students got internship this year. Most of students got placement by PPO and internships. I don't remember correctly the names of top recruiting companies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, two libraries, and classrooms are available inside the campus, with 24-hour access to one of the libraries. Facilities of hostels are good. Medical facilities are excellent. Sports facilities are also excellent in hostels as well as in the sports complex.
Faculty: Some teachers are excellent. Some are average as well in terms of explanation. In terms of knowledge, they are good too. Yes, some courses are relevant, but some seem to be irrelevant as well. Semester exams are difficult in this college. You need to give time to studies to gain good marks. The pass percentage differs from subject to subject. Overall, 80-90% of students pass (given they don't get detained).
Other: Events and fests are good as well. Scholarship facilities are also there. Good sporting events are held there.

B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2026

Faculty teaching is above average but strict in exams. Placements are improving.
Placements: Almost 70% of students got placed. The highest salary package offered is 51 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA. Top companies include Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Intel, Qualcomm, and Trident for textile students. From our course, around 50% of students get internships, and others get direct placements in their 4th year respectively. Roles offered are tech & code experts in various fields.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is awesome. Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Labs are well-maintained. Classrooms are well-structured and have enough capacity. They are beautiful. The library is sufficient to carry a large number of students. There are libraries. One is old, and the other is new. The mess of food varies as the day passes. It provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The canteen facility is very good. Medical facilities are available up to 9 PM. There are 2 sports grounds, a basketball court, a gym, and all games.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are helpful and well-knowledgeable. Some are involved in NASA, DRDO, and other national projects. The teaching quality is above average. The curriculum is 80% relevant. Students usually get industry-ready by their own hard work and not by classrooms. The pass percentage is 40% but teachers are strict. I don't know why they don't let students pass easily.
Other: I chose this course because of placements, but after joining the college, I realized that it was not a good decision. I don't care much about my course now, I just want to pass it and complete my degree by hook or crook. Events, fests, the campus crowd, campus surroundings, and all other things are good and more than sufficient. You enjoy a lot here.

Review of National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar.
Placements: This year I. e 2024 placements were not good. Companies like Amazon, google did not visit our campus. The highest oncampus package was 19 Lacs offered by Oracle. Top recruiting companies for CSE were Oracle, BPCL for the SDE roles. Internship percentage was also less only 14 students got internship in Microsoft. No other company visited for internships. The lowest package was 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: Facilities- Wi-Fi is available in hostels and CSE department also it has a good range. The hostels for the first year students are not at all good. They are 4 sharing which makes it really difficult to study as there is no reading room also and the in-time is very less so you cant go to library also. For the 2nd-4th year girls, hostel is good. The mess food is good. Library conditions are not at all good. In one side of the library even fan is not there, which makes it really difficult to study in summer. They don't give conducive conditions for students to study. Like we have one lab called CC lab in which students can study after their classes but irony is that "no charge is allowed" because according to some gentleman who is in-charge there, "students pull the charging board out while plugging out their charges". How are the students going to study? They have opened a new library also which open from 9am-5pm. Classes timing are 8:30 am-5:30 pm. Like what's the point?
Faculty: Teachers are neither helpful nor knowledgeable. Teaching quality is really poor. No concept is ever cleared. They all have a lot of ego. Course curriculum is outdated and not at all makes us industry ready. Like we are taught "microprocessors" in 2024! Semester exams level is okay but some teachers have a habit of setting up a difficult question paper and not giving marks thereafter.

NIT Jalandhar Review by Abhishek Sapkal.
Placements: Our institute has a placement cell, and it does its best to help students acquire jobs, but for good job offers, there is too much competition, and so only the best can get the best. As per the latest report, NIT Jalandhar recorded a 73.79% placement rate for the Class of 2023 till March 7, 2023. Earlier in 2022, NIT Jalandhar recorded an 81.76% placement rate in the academic year 2021-2022. Going back to 2021 placements, NIT Jalandhar recorded a 63.44% placement rate.
Infrastructure: NIT Jalandhar has 10 boys' hostels and 3 girls' hostels. I have got BH-1 (Boys' Hostel 1) for the 1st year, and the facilities here are way better than I had imagined for any hostel. I never even dreamed that I could get such delicious food in any hostel mess. I never felt the need to go to the cafeteria to have lunch or breakfast. Some dishes are even better than those cooked at home, and I am not kidding when I write it. Though some seniors told us that it's only in the first year that we get food this good. We get three meals a day and snacks in the evening. The hostel also has a badminton court, a volleyball court, and an indoor games room where there are indoor games like chess, carrom, and table tennis. The best part of BH-1 hostel, which makes it the best among all the 13 hostels, is that we have a computer lab in our hostel apart from the reading room. There are about 10 to 12 computers, and all have i7 processor CPUs, which is fantastic.
Faculty: Teachers, as far as experience goes, are supportive and helpful, but very few of them give marks easily in exams. The rest try their best to give you a hard challenge to obtain good marks in exams. The exam papers made by them are on the bit tougher side.
Other: The campus has separate buildings for each branch of engineering, like the IT building, Computer Science department, and all. Apart from that, there are two libraries. One has thousands of books for issuing by students. It doesn't have AC but fans. The second library is a new one with three floors, all fully air-conditioned and has hundreds of computers. It is my favorite spot on the institute campus till date. It's a bit busy during exam times though.

B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2027

This College Provides Support Facilities.
Placements: The placement percentage of the Electrical department is approximately 90%, sometimes reaching 95%. The highest package is 52 Lacs in Google by an Electrical student. The average package oscillates around 13-14 Lacs. Not having accurate data for the lowest package, the top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, Samsung, Flipkart, TCS, Amazon, Infosys, Hero, and many more companies visit every year. More than 50% of students get a good internship in top companies. This year, I remember one boy and one girl from Electrical who got internships in Google and Microsoft.
Infrastructure: The facilities are good enough on our campus, but the institute is working to make better infrastructure. At present, it is at a moderate level. Free Wi-Fi is available in all campus areas. Labs have modern instruments. Both classrooms and the library are digital. The quality of the facilities in our hostel is fine. The food is moderate; you will get delicious food for 3 or 4 days, but for the rest of the days, you will get decent food. The college provides healthcare facilities at a basic level; for serious cases, you need to go outside the campus. In the hostel, you will get indoor sports like table tennis, chess, carrom, volleyball, and badminton. On campus, there are sports grounds for cricket, football, lawn tennis, volleyball, basketball, and kabaddi.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and have good qualifications and knowledge. But the teaching quality is decent. Yes, the course is relevant, and along with study, they give practical knowledge also. The semester exam is not that tough; it's easy to score passing marks. At the end of the semester, you have to score a minimum of 40 marks out of 100: 30 marks for the mid-semester, 50 marks for the end-semester, and 20 marks for internal assessments
Other: I took this branch because you will get two routes in this branch. The first one is that you can go for core, and the other is that you can prepare yourself for teaching. You will get good and enough events and fests. The events and fests are Bharat Dhwani, Utkansh, Bathukamma, Virasat-e-Punjab, and many more.

Consider this option only if you have genuine concerns.
Placements: With around 13 branches of B.Tech. and more than 20+ specializations for M.Tech., the placement offered by the college is better than some other IITs too. However, this college is often neglected by most video makers. The placement for B.Tech. is quite satisfactory, but for M.Tech., it is very, or, you can say, almost negligible. The institute has many high records in placement, and students have secured packages not only in lakhs but also in crores. The placement process at NIT Jalandhar can be a bit surprising, as students may face some discomfort. They often have to contact the placement head or the training and placement cell multiple times for their placement, causing inconvenience at times.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is acceptable, but it lags in one aspect for Computer Science, Engineering, and Information Technology students. The computers in the computer lab are quite old, and their hardware properties do not align with the current technology. Some labs still operate on Windows 7, and even Windows XP can be found in a few labs. Additionally, some installed Windows are not activated, presenting a cringe-worthy scenario. The overall construction of the college is decent, but one cannot expect the same level of facilities as in some good private colleges in India. If you are particularly enthusiastic about computers, I recommend considering admission to a good private college.
Faculty: The teaching level for the Computer Engineering branch is not up to par, and the syllabus is somewhat outdated. The syllabus lacks the inclusion of the latest technologies, such as AI, chatbots, and ChatGPT. The curriculum appears to be the same as it was five years ago. Students often find themselves heavily relying on YouTube for learning, making it seem as if they paid the fees to YouTube for their degrees. The inclusion of the latest subjects is essential, and without them, the educational experience may feel inadequate.
Other: I joined the course because I believed NIT was superior, but it lacks infrastructure.
